Not too uncommon to refit older technology in a smaller form.

But it would seem strange for me to give up on using ARM with the "3DS", especially since ARM have a reputation for being battery-life friendly.

Poly-toucfhable seems to be another thread with touch-screen devices, but the touchscreen would need to be a bit bigger on the device than it currently is on the DS.

Well most maps being based on TF2 stuff isn't surprising since it's probably the most cartoonic Valve game. It's been sold cheap several times too, so most users would have TF2 by this point.

Little offtopic, but please avoid top-posting if you can manage to. That's when you quote and reply on top of the said quote.

Personally I would like to see (better) editors for Super Mario World 2 (There's eggvine but it's very out of date and is long abandoned), Snake Rattle n Roll (Which I started some hacking effort on, but stopped due to lack of time) and Ducktales for NES. I actually plan to hack one of those soon again...

Any games you would like to see game editors for, or a overhauled editor where the current ones sucks?

Of course, given your obsession with Valve games
Cause I spent 1300+ hours of TF2 in the last three years or so dosen't make me obessed...

And thanks everyone.

I would absolutely love to see an editor for The Illusion of Gaia/Time or Terranigma on the SNES.
I can understand people loving RPG games, but I always thought they were one of the more awkward games to hack... since a huge part of an RPG is the story rather than the game engine.

Nvidia hardware is infamously unreliable in the last few years, lots of GPU's dying on peoples and such.

And Nintendo is reputed for high reliability on the other hand.

I heard that some psychologists consider religion almost a human defense mechanism against things that we cannot explain. So we just make up things that sounds believable at the time.

I was walking around in the grocery story, thinking about getting lunch when I looked back on the Angry Video Game Nerd Review of Action52 and cheetahmen. One reason for it's existence over time was to discourage unlicensed games from flooding the market unchecked but did it really help? You could also argue it was just a way for Nintendo to make sure that 3rd party developers was a source of revenue stream.

Admittedly most unlicensed games are crap, which most people seem to agree on. On the other hand, the strict licensing requirements back then was quite a hell for 3rd party devolopers, limited releases per year (to limit shovelware) and the whole no gore clause (which as far I know, was a NOA and NOE thing).

At some point it was just changed to "Offical Nintendo Seal", probably cause it really had nothing to do with quality.

So, was the seal for good or bad?

I wish I knew about Jetpack turning freeware much earlier, I used to jump through hoops to have several custom levels saved at once (shareware edition only allowed you to have one custom level, but in practice you could get around that with file renaming).

Anyone remember an old DOS-based Boulder Dash clone with:
I remember seeing a boulder dash clone on a giant disk with PC Shareware games from a PC magazine for fifteen years ago, containing Win16 and DOS shareware games (needless to say, I can probably expect to only be able to run the most basic DOS games).

I should dig up said disk and see if I find it. Might be your boulder dash clone, or not.

Brought me nostalgic feelings even the first time I played the game. Still one of my favorite Videogame songs from the 90's.

I'm not sure where fans started calling it Flower Garden, I call it that myself since I got the name from DJBouche.

One thing that personally bored me with ROM hacking is that it's... well in the past ten most of the focus been on Super Mario World (and Super Mario Bros to a less extent).

Personally the only thing that interests me right now is Reuben, and that's... kind of stalling now. But I believe in Dahrkdaiz.

I'm all for fixing the port thing at least, three less characters in the URL's and all that.

Even if not for CAcert, what would be the most affordable certificate authority?

Yes, it's preferable to use the inbuilt video recorder if possible. Old SNES games compresses well losslessly too (at least does with the lossless encoding in ZSNES), but unfortunately Youtube counts it as a low-res video and make it unnecessarily blurry (might be fooled if you stretch the video into HD resolution though).

And for people who really insist on hurf durf commentary, just use a separate recording program then mix it into the video later. Just don't do anything stupid that would desync the commentary audio from video (such as using savestates).

Facebook and Twitter might be Facebook and Twitter, but let's not forget that before that, there were Myspace, Yahoo Chat, ICQ and Geocities, each of which was seen as $medium's downfall - and yet, we still have IRC, we still have forums, we still even have mailing lists and Usenet. Not even the peer pressure of a thousand stampeding troglodytes could possibly displace nostalgia and accustomedness as stabilizing forces in the general makeup of the internet. Sure, the landscape in which forums have to survive changed, but that just means that we have to adapt - if, of course, we manage.
There's Usenet too, which actually is something I never touched (other than through Google Groups), but still have a lot of avid users.

Can't really answer about the religion part, but I guess looking up about Scientific method might help regarding science, especially since that is what defines it. When something is called pseudo-science, it usually implies it's not really following the scientific method...

When I'm busy thinking I tend to talk with myself. Not sure how often that happens since it's more situational in my case.
