I'm amazed that a "hey some other guys thinks this game sucks" out of the blue link leads to a thread where a friend of mine closes said thread (one of the guys I play TF2 with basically).

In a forum I never heard about before.

I do agree, the MyBrute game seems to suck. But since people are expressing genuine interest here...

Yeah, Boney is the item guy in the game.

I just noticed that Mother3 is the most generous with inventory space in the whole series. Which is a relief from my Earthbound run where I never seemed to have enough inventory.

I just link to the slashdot page since I'm lazy like that.

It's sad, but not totally unexpected. The game was stuck in development hell, and supposedly the designers spent large amount of time on just redoing the same parts of the game over and over again.

Apparently since it's a important part of internet history An archive group is actually trying to save as large parts of geocities as possible before it goes down.

Gotta love the homepage fad at the end of the 90's which feel flat, and probably why sites like geocities became obsolete. Especially after the so called Web 2.0 era.

And probably have more coherent designers who actually follows a game design cycle of a coherent company.

Like Valve. There's some article about somewhere about the method Valve uses for developing their games. Sure some games took some time to do, but at least they did eventually put it out.

You need to set up the SDK environment itself for L4D as Steam doesn't offer a pre-configured SDK environment for L4D yet.

Plus the game isn't very unfriendly when it comes to custom content. You need to use a server you have full access to, and manual use console commands to switch to the right campaign. Most people are waiting on official SDK support as promised by valve, but they're taking their time. There's quite a few near finished campaigns just waiting for official support now.

The only custom map I tried was rough-looking hunter jumping map.

Some modern record players even uses laser apparently. Apparently a needle slowly ruins the record it's playing on.
