Well, what I mean is that... if everything doesn't fit into the SWAP during the hibernation, it should try to put the rest into a temporary file.

...of course, I admittedly hadn't used Ubuntu Linux as much lately as before, but partly because the computer it's on (a laptop) is a computer I barely touch.

I guess I should make polls very soon in a few days, based on the nominations done so far...

Assuming the trading system is ever implemented in the first place...
Why not just have dummy Pokémon in place of the offical ones, that functions the same but necessarily doesn't have the graphics and sound.

[56K] - If the thread contains or is likely to contain a large number of images or youtubes, add this to the thread to try and warn people with slower connections
Is this even required anymore? The amount of people with dial-up is... not many. Especially considering a broadband connection is cheaper than dial-up in some parts of the world.

Portal seemed to be more of a test of new game mechanics than seriously investing too much on the said project.

Oh yeah, and from the same Orange box... I would say it's Team Fortress 2. Most people bought Orange Box for Portal, then stay for Team Fortress 2. I would say it's the better game, especially due to the high playability.

I like the Sonic 2 beta best, where Tails can get into a "infinite death loop".

So, Wolverine can come back from the dead?

IIRC, at one point Wolverine managed to regenerate completely from a drop of blood or something. Death is probably the least of his problems.
You love the way super heroes seem to return from the most... grim situations.

too bad all its really amusing stuff is long in the past, and the new comics are really quite mediocre

if it was still good, i might care about it
I dunno about you, but I found the latest comic hilarious.

...I had at least 5 KB per second when I used dial-up.

Funny though, reason we switched to broadband was because... broadband was being much cheaper! Dial-up here is probably the most expensive way you can connect to the internet.

At least it was somewhat reliable, and the latency wasn't too bad.

How many 56K users are even on this board?

Not your typical NSF composition. I'm surprised I didn't see more use of samples than drums on the NES. oO

In a way, I find it intresting what people can manage to squeeze out of NSF's. On the other hand, it's probably way easier today with the tools available today. I sometimes wonder how much work that goes into making music for hand on the NES.

Using Nestopia to play it. Works fine as far I see.

Super heroes cheat too much.
Especially Superman.

And he's a dick too.

Digital Perfection.

And ultra small file size

EDIT: Failing this - We could always use this.
Those are terrible, sorry
Would make a nice change from the current banner though.

I didn't know that Mobygames was a real game.

(In other words, Mobygames dosen't like hotlinking...)

Levesque: It's the difference that arguably made Windows capable of taking the market in a storm.
Most people I know had Windows 3.1 as the first Windows version. Then PC's started to sell increasingly more with the cheap IBM PC clones coming around.

While plugging into diffrent ports tend to work, I do notice that Windows like to pretend that you're installing a new hardware if you plug a device into a port you hadn't plugged into before. Why Windows have this behavior is beyond me.

If you can't obtain it legally, there's always a torrent tracker.

I know that Video game soundtracks are tricky to get here in Scandinavia.

I take back what I said about my apocalyptically-awesome banners. How are we not using this yet?

While highly amusing, it's not a banner I would like having around for too long.

Laser chicken, perhaps?

Also this:

Ominous, innit?
Kinda gives you the feeling of the room steadily going up, like an elevator. :o

If we didn't use paper money, we'd use gold.
And other valuable metals like how it was once in the time

However it started becoming a hassle, and I even recall cases where coins almost became more valuable than the currency they symbolize.

Which it doesn't.
And thank god for that I guess.

I wouldn't want to battle in a giant elevator.
