Okay, got it. That's exactly what I wanted to know... Thanks...
As for pointer tables like interdpth said, this would be more appropriate to implement such a thing in a game-specific editor, where specific tiles or groups of tiles are to be edited... |

Hey, random idea:
Spawn rare items in such a way that only a limited quantity (could be 1) of it is available in the shop. People end up with funky equipment that can't be bought unless the user decides to sell it... |

Posted by Flan What you said is not necessarily wrong, it's just one of many factors that compose the question. At best, it's incomplete. If you are more industry-oriented, what you said goes with this logic. Of course, I have my own notion of taxes, and probably everyone who think a minimum have his own variant on the subject... Usually, the term "taxes" refers to one of many dispositions to collect the financial means for public services. Thus, trying to make taxes "fairer" is more of a question of social fairness. You can also ask yourself "who profits?". If the companies profit, then it's a more corporative intent. If the citizens profit, then it's a more social intent. If only a small group of people profits from such measures, then it's an elitist intent... |

It should be pretty vomit-inducing... It was edited later... |

Here's a random idea, taken from the Valkyrie Pride Thread and moved because it was a little off-topic:
Spawn rare items in such a way that only a limited quantity (could be 1) of it is available in the shop. People end up with funky equipment that can't be bought unless the user decides to sell it... |

There's also all the jan-ken-pon funky variants...
One of them is like, when you win, you take a paper fan and hit the other one, and your opponent must put on a construction hat on time... Rock Paper Fan ? Another one was, like, the winner must throw a bucket of hot wax at the other, and the other must then open an umbrella to protect... Rock Paper Wax ? Things like that... |

Pancakes are fun because you can't resist the temptation to toss them in all directions and organize pan-flipping contests...
Of course there's always someone who will either break the pancake apart because he did not catch it correctly, or splat it on the ceiling with great force. You end up will a greasy spot that lasts forever because noone cares about the ceiling being clean... |

I thought it would be good to have a thread for Zelda II, and share everything we find about this not-so-popular-yet-very-good game. I still maintain a compilation of Zelda II data, and another file in which I dump any discovery I make over time. You can dig these offsets further and try to find valuable information or explanations...
Some time ago, I was successful in ASM hacking Zelda II to make dialog boxes taller, so more text could fit in, but the information did not spill, except for Raccoon Sam. You can see how to do it in this file: Long Dialog Boxes... If anyone finds anything else that would prove useful, don't hesitate... |

Well, actually, knowing "nothing" about hacking is not supposed to be bad, as each one of us has been there at some point in the past. In this case, it's mostly about how people treat others according to their level of knowledge in general (and in this case, ROM Hacking knowledge)...
On the other hand, if you make it clear that you're not making reasonable efforts in your hacking activities, some people will be annoyed sooner or later... As for the bad critiques, I think the most we can do in the forums is to be more severe when it comes to the ROM Hacking Related Releases section. If it's your first release of a game or utility, it's more likely that it will be buggy or unpolished. Most people are aware of that. However, stupid hacks do exist, and too many hacks like these are not something we're wishing for... |
