The only reason I'd want a PS3 is for blu-ray, and its media player capabilities (MP3). That's really it, aside from a random arcade game. Maybe I'll mod it, too. Who knows. There's one at my local bookstore for $160...

You can't even call what comes out of the other two "pictures"...
Of course you can, just not from your point of view. It's just not within your standards of digital pictures. A webcam, a Nintendo DSi, an ipod nano, etc. are all capable of taking pictures.

I have a digital camera, but I only use it in cases where I bring it on vacations. The camera on my blackberry works fine, but not as great as my $79 digital camera. But I use my phone camera more because it's always on hand. More or less for social networking.

Actually, I haven't been able to vote since I had a lot of real life shit going on, but I should have some free time coming up. Hopefully. There are a lot of songs that I like, so you should be seeing some "distinct" votes from me.

I suggest using a different hosting service, such as board2 uploader, or tinypic. Fileden, according to Chrome, hosts malware. In the best interests of the userbase, the links have been removed. [fuckin' looks good though ]

Super mario bros. 1. On nesticle. I actually had a CD burnt and brought it to school... Put it on every computer. Of course, back then, having a burnt CD made you the most badass person ever, so I was pretty much designated the school nerd.

If I had any choice, I'd forego all of my votes to ensure nothing from There Might Be Giants gets through. But that's probably not going to happen, so I'll vote sometime soon...

Moved to ROM hacking, where this obviously fits best. Also removed the link to the game, since it's most likely NOT public domain. Notify me if I am wrong and I will fix it.

Might I suggest anything by halc? He's got some amazing tracks, two of which are my favorite:

'First Time on Outset' - [mp3]

'The Forest That Never Sleeps' - [MP3]

Also, in full awareness of the hypocrisy of my post, I suggest not overloading the radio with OC ReMixes. Most of us gamers tend to make their way to that site, which makes it "mainstream" amongst the gaming community. Blacky, I love classical music. Toccata and Fugue in D minor. Or some other non-Touhou shit you might have.

Hell yes. This reminds me of my younger days spent at home, too sick (ahem) to go to school. Daytime TV, bitches.

Thumbs up on this one.

There's a game for vectrex that i absolutely loved. It's the game that comes with the system that when you leave no game in it and turn it on, Minestorm. I spent hours playing that. Sure, geometry wars is fun, but Minestorm had a certain "feel" to it that you just can't capture like Minestorm did.

I'd love to see it remade in a somewhat Geometry Wars style.

It's locked because too much immaturity has spawned from it. I am still leaning towards leaving it locked. If you want furry porn, I'm gonna have to deprive board2 of the traffic and send you to furaffinity or something.

So, this thread is now about real life possessions. Tell us what car, job, computer, man cave, or whatever else you care to talk about.

Essentially Show and Tell. Go!

I would forego all of the sexual curiosities one would probably have. Instead, I would do all I can to learn more about the female psyche, in order to understand them as well as possible. Assuming I have the knowledge I'd be female for only a day, my logic for this is as follows: the more I understand about a woman (or women in general) the more chances I have of success in a relationship.

We just called HOA on the only person in my neighborhood who leaves their pitbull's black pickles on the ground. Everyone else here picks it up, despite the neighborhood being less than the best looking one around...

Solid waste in general doesn't make me as squeamish as you guys. Have any of you seen Jackass 3 yet? The poocano was lolz

Oh my.

I've wondered about the idea for quite some time. I downloaded it and played up to red (yellow?) brinstar and I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed. I love how you changed the flow of speed of things throughout the game.

What I didn't find all that great though was how certain paths have been blocked. I tried to mockball to get the early super missile and there's a double fall block preventing me from doing so. I imagine you did this to force the player to fight spore spawn, because you obviously did some good fucking work on that, and you'd want the player to appreciate it. It's not that big of a deal to me, but I really prefer to complete the *original* Super Metroid my way. For you to claim that there's been no edits to the routes is false. Since I've only played so far, I don't know if there are any more as of yet.

On the flipside, I seriously would prefer this over the original any day and would happily deal with a simple route change to enjoy what has been presented in this thread.

Also, when you finish this hack, what are you planning to do next? I think it would be a great idea if you were to move the items around in all new places. Keep the routes the same, but allow for new routes alongside the old ones. Block off some of the old corridors that lead to items to confuse the players and create new ones elsewhere.

I've done this before in an attempt to confuse the hell outta one of my cousins. He was the only other elitist SM player I knew who could 100% the game. I even made new rooms that connect from original rooms that have new secret pathways and corridors. It never got past the initial stages of design, though. I originally intended on making it available for play on an original console, disguised as a normal SM cartridge. That way my cousin will pop in "Super Metroid" and go and get the morph ball and go WHAT THE FUCK and then fall over and foam at the mouth.

Which brings me to my next inquiry... I never really figured out how to hack a donor cartridge and burn an eprom. I know there's a way, but I'm not really in touch with the community that does that sort of thing. I don't really want to buy a Super PowerPak to play this on the original console. I think this hack is worthy of being put onto cartridges, and the parts/services required I'd happily pay for. So my question is, could we somehow work out a less-than-complicated method for allowing those who want this hack to get a hold of a tangible cartridge with this hack on it?

Really, I don't blame you for doing that. It's more of a gripe and doesn't really matter, especially when you compare it to what has been accomplished.

Just to put it into perspective of just how awesome this hack is, let me put it this way:
When I landed on Crateria, I just about shit my pants. Seriously, a few minutes in I thought I was just gonna start crying.

But seriously, if you're going to do that item hack thing, please don't make it backtrack-heavy. Just the right balance of amount of backtracking versus proximity to the old items' locations is key with this one. Otherwise, I'd just get bored.

Still though, good fucking work. I'll be watching this like a hawk.

Also, if you need any level design help contribution, let me know.
