There's very little left for it to be completed, in terms of features. there are aspects that need to be supported so the game doesn't break. I don't have access to mushroom houses, spade panels, N-Cards, end-of-world castles, etc..

And there's not as many bugs as one might think. He's done a pretty good job at nailing that down pat. I mean, there are some, but I'm really only struggling with one major bug. The editor is so usable that i have a one world hack going... and it's frozen due to not seeing progress on the editor. Can't progress without some aspects of the game...

Well, I'm not using locks, hammer bros, mushroom houses, n-spades, or matching games, because it's unsupported. However, the matching game still shows up after every 80k points, but when you enter it, it just sends you to the level pointer it's sitting at on the map. I made this into a "level encore" sprite.

The world's castle has no level data, so when you finish a world, it gets really glitchy. You can still advance, though.

I almost got custom mushroom houses to work. I just don't know how to hack the rest of it so the items work correctly. Also, since the timer's set to 0, mario dies instantly. But sometimes he doesn't and can pick a box, in which case he gets a P wing.

Also, world map locks are needed.

There's just so many aspects that I just don't want to ignore. Perhaps I am going to have to.

You know, if you want to hack some more, I could always use some help with mine. I'm not terribly attached to the way things are with it, so if you didn't like the way I have things you could change them.

Well, yeah, I understand that. I was just throwing it out there because I'd like a hand in my hack, and I know you're more than capable. then again, since you're working on SMB3 musics, and I have that aspect on my list for my hack, I suppose it could be considered helping me.

That is, when you have the time.

Ailure: I am pretty certain that the source that's out is outdated. Not sure what version it is, but I know DD's got the source for a newer build.

Though, I do know what you're saying. In a given argument, one could claim something that could be had with common sense, and eventually could agree with each other based on the grounds of the exchanged insight... but in that same given argument, one could also turn around and find some kind of condemning "truth" that supports their opposing claim to yours, thus appearing to be "right".

I just think you need to think your method of debate or you're going to lose every time.

I personally can. I can do it pretty well, too. I'd like to put myself on-par with the great whistling wizards of this generation, but I simply can't. I'm not THAT good.

You know, I think if I had the commercial translation when the game first came out, I would have been disappointed with it. I find more color and depth in the fan translation than the commercial one. It's not always about being as accurate as possible... You've got to capture the author's intent as well. The commercial translation seemed to throw that out the window and go for accuracy only. Although Amaya-san gave them the thumbs up, I don't think the commercial was as good as he captured it in his native language.
