Man, I kind of wish there was a way to bring back some of the really good songs that got pitted against some other equally good songs... Sometimes 1-on-1 racing brackets have the "fastest loser" time and are not quite eliminated from the tournament... Maybe we could have a similar bonus round here? I'm not sure how this would work, but perhaps those songs that were close competitors to their opposing song could come back somehow?

I have a trash can in my room. I only throw stuff away in there that won't get all smelly. Thing is, my room is pretty warm, so this chocolate is very malleable to the touch. I keep some in my fridge and replenish it whenever needed.

Maybe someone should make a thread for people to post their entertainment setups...

And I got these at Big Lots for 8 cents a bar. All that cost me about 45 bucks.

Also, I don't care how technical you want to get about chocolate, SX. I fucking love hershey's bars and reese's and butterfingers. So I got some, taking advantage of the great deal I had in front of me. I don't claim to be a chocolate connoisseur nor do I give a shit what it's made of. It tastes good. As long as it isn't Soylent Green.

This was indeed another tough match. After contemplating carefully, I'm going to vote the following:

Match 23: Ys: The Oath in Felghana - A Searing Struggle

Match 24: Super Mario Galaxy - Buoy Base Galaxy

Posted by RT-55J
Also, do you guys want to do double elimination (to find out the "best loser" of the first round)?
Just in case you guys missed it.

I think I'm going to go with the older of the two in each match. Both of these struck a chord with me.

Match 25: Ninja Gaiden - Basilisk Mine Field (Act 4-2)

Match 26: Tales of Phantasia - Fighting of the Spirit

RT-55J, if it's a hassle, don't worry about it. I'm definitely grateful for you hosting this badass competition. For one, it's activity that we need and also it gives me some insight on the kind of diversity I've been missing out on. Kudos to you.

Match 27: Ys I + II Chronicles - Palace

Abstaining from Match 28.

Also, added JaSp's NSMB Athletic theme to my hack! Seek to about 5:10.

<GreyMario> I mean jesus christ that's common sense
<GreyMario> It's even MORE common sense to NOT post a thread about your own stupidity
<GreyMario> unless it's some colossally humorous story that other people would actually enjoy

Actually, this goes in the display case.

I think I'm going for FFIII and Cosmo Plant even though IRON PIPE was very good and even almost made me choose it over my own nomination.

Why this 11x11 nonstandard BS? I mean, what's the reasoning for that? I'd think it's argued because of the fact that the pics are bigger than the font and clogs things up. Well, I'm going to call bullshit on that argument before someone even brings that up. For one, if it doesn't look good because it "clogs things up" then just don't have a minipic at all. Second: If you don't like how huge 16x16 will look (look at Jul) then too bad. Deal with it. It's only in one area anyway.

Sorry, but 11x11 just pisses me off. The only possible reasons I can think of to support such a dumbass size are dumbass reasons anyhow.

But hey, I'm glad it was added in anyway.

11x11 was probably set that way originally cause that's how it probably fit the "users online" area the best on Acmlmboard 1.x.
Yeah, this is what I meant by "clogging things up". I don't think it does. Jul looks fine. If it's so out of place to have 16x16 then what's the point of having them at all?

I really don't see why we can't make the usernames larger. I think that would look kickass. Or maybe we could have another one of those dumbass items enabling you to have a 16x16 minipic. It would make your name bigger too. And it could be called e-peen.

Well, we *have* someone willing to code, but for some reason there's a problem with getting the willing to talk to those with access and vice-versa.

Also, that post had me srs lolling

> implying 16x16 minipics distracts from actual posts
> implying that there's something wrong with being able to use a standardized size

I'd understand if minipics were displayed next to every instance of your username. But no, it's only on the front page. So how does that distract from the content?

I really don't see what's wrong with it. Looks fine on Jul, they actually have a lot of UI related things right. A lot of things that I think could be useful here.

In fact, I miss several "pointless UI elements" that made Acmlmboard an Acmlmboard. Such as when celebration time meant rainbow colored usernames. Or when you could see what users were browsing particular forums or even threads specifically. Or, you could edit aspects of the UI in your profile instead of having to equip items from the itemshop. These are the kinds of things that make the board fun to be a part of, instead of stumbling around with what we currently have or don't have.

My support of 16x16 minipics also implies my acceptance of the responsibility to nuke shitty ones. I think both 11x11 and 16x16 should at least be supported somehow... like custom titles being supported for users above a certain postcount.

The problem with larger minipics is that they would stretch the page header beyond the size it needs to be.

So, you're talking an extra five pixels tall/wide. Per line. I've never seen that area taller than two lines tall, on a normal resolution. I mean, holy shit, is it really that bad? 135 more pixels?
Posted by blackhole89
Sure, it seems like a tiny and insignificant thing to argue about, but in the end, it's just a long string of those tiny and insignificant changes that each could easily be defended with a "why not" or "other somethings do it that way" that separate us from the utter annoyance that is your average larger-scale forum system these days.

I'm not asking you to implement captchas or flawed search methods, or ads in the middles of posts.

Posted by blackhole89
I fight such changes on principle because I see nothing to gain from larger minipics ("People could fit more on them!" might as well be used to argue for 400x400 avatars) and a lot to lose in the long term if such argumentation is accepted as valid for a particular change.
So, I must ask, what did you see to gain from minipics at all? They're pointless. But I like them. Also, you're comparing apples to oranges. the maximum impact from the change asked for is an extra 5px tall/wide in the page header only. You're comparing it to an extra 220x220 in the sidebar of every post who has 400x400 avatars, completely screwing up readability in such a drastic way you almost couldn't think about the comparison without your head blowing up into camel shit.

I argue the fact that you can fit more in them because you can't do shit with 121 pixels. Makes minipics pointless and more people would use the feature if they had more room to work with. 256 pixels is a standard. Far easier to make stuff and use available space. I mean, what good is a parking lot at a stadium if the spaces are all for motorcycles?

It's just that I feel that just shouldn't have to provide you a goddamn document to prove my point. You can analyze and refute all the live long day on any given subject. It just sucks for me that you've been brought up in a more academic environment than I have, and, incidentally, this decides the debate. I just decided to leave it alone because suddenly I can't sit here and make a simple analogy without it being ripped to shreds instead of "oh ok, I see your point" and not reading into the situation way further than it should be. Also because I didn't realize that board2 is a courtroom and requires that I submit written documentation on things in order to be valid.

You know, I kinda see why Sukasa left. With this kind of opposition (regarding 87 fucking pixels, no less) what is the point of admins anyway?

I think we're both worked up over all this, bh. I do see your side, at least a part of it. I do want to thank you for bringing minipics back. We all appreciate it regardless.

Match 5: Thunder Force 5
Match 6: .hack//GU
Match 7: Ys
Match 8: Ratchet

FFFFFUUUUUUU Match 5 was a hard one.

I can't believe Wario and Zelda's being voted for, especially compared to their opposing songs.
