Gradius 3 - Stage 6 Theme. "Cosmo Plant"

I chose to go with the SNES version because I feel it's tons better than the arcade version (which happens to be stage 8 in that version)

For Match 3, I'm going to go with the Chrono Cross track, Another World. This track always gets me into the "Holiday" mood, I dunno why. But it's an amazing track.

Match 4 is a no-brainer for me; Wily's Castle (Stages 3 & 4).

When I first played Megaman 3, it was the hardest damn game I've played yet for the NES. Mind you, I was a little kid at the time. When I got far enough into this game to hear this track, I got the "holy shit I can't believe I'm this far" feeling and my adrenaline was pumping! This track automatically gets the vote for sheer nostalgia and the fact that it is now tattooed in the very front of my brain. I also put it in my hack, too! (Seek to the 7:00 min mark)

Both of the competing tracks are also excellent tracks, but it's a shame it had to come against these two.

I vote in favor of both of the latter songs in these matches: Zelda: The Wind Waker - Ocean and .hack//G.U. - Full Force (vs Cubia Core)

I've always eyeballed the Zelda WW Ocean track as a possible candidate to be featured in my SMB3 hack as a water level track. It gives the impression of an amazing watery adventure while at the same time reminds you that you've got business to attend to. Great song.

In match 6, I've never played the .hack//G.U. series, but I've played the //sign series and it has some amazing vibes. //G.U. has the same great tracks I expected from a .hack game and it fills my mind with mystery as I listen. It's got a great balance of deep synth bass beats and a spectacular harp chorus that is to die for. This particular track had a hard time against the FF6 track though, I had to think long about this one to make my final decision.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World - The Wilderness of Sadness and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - Final Boss

because both of their rival songs for this round were unimpressive and unappealing to me. Then again, I haven't played either of those games so influences intended to be experienced alongside the song were missed, possibly changing what I think of them...

Man, match #19 is killing me with my inability to come to a decision. Both songs are amazing. I've already listened to both songs three times. Heroes of Mana song sounds a bit like Bowser's Giant Theme from M&L: BIS... and I loved that theme. But this HoM song kicks its ass into the next 2012 theory. So, I guess I'll vote:

Heroes of Mana - Ring of Revolving Fate

for match #19. Man, I feel so shitty for leaving its competitor behind though.

Match #20 isn't a hard choice though, I'mma vote for the Mother song on this one.

I'm excited for the 3DS for more than just the (awesome) commercial games. I'm excited for the potential of homebrew and 3D emulators for the 3DS. This will be amazing.

Yes, for a while, there won't be any. But I don't discredit the hackers at all; it seems as if it's based on the DS architecture (since it can play DS games) so the hackers already have the basis down... they'll just have to figure out what they don't know of the 3DS when it comes out.

Match 22: Thunder Force 5 - Steel of Destiny

Match 21 was a hard pick against the Mega Man song. I just love Mega Man music. But I love Metroid music more.
