.bin is uniform across all VC games.

the .bin resides in a folder called "MAHP" and there is another folder called "MAHE" in its parent directory. So, you've got:

Wii
--MAHP
----file.bin
--MAHE

This is what was used in the case of the PAL Sonic VC game. It seems to be pretty uniform throughout. I've only seen the NES and Genesis ones though, not sure what the other systems look like.

When I feel old, I just take a walk in the cemetery and think "I'm doing a helluva lot better than these guys".....

Well, I most recently worked for an exterminating company in the mountains. I think it's "Dirty Jobs" worthy. I also worked for the airport loading planes, which will be featured on Dirty Jobs tonight. You guys will get to see what I put through for 4 months.

You can't really "bypass" encryption. Modchip or not, you'd still have to decrypt it. The most likely thing to happen is that there will be a modchip that loads an emulator for generic roms, completely seperate from VC games. But since we're not talking about your usual run-of-the-mill ROM here, we'll leave that for another day. Since the DS games were RSA Encrypted, and they're being emulated now, I forsee that it might be moderately easy to figure this out. Not only that, it's based on souped-up GameCube hardware for which homebrew already exists. It probably won't be hard to get something working fairly easily. IIRC, homebrew for Wii is already possible through Modchips.

I've got a Wii, 5 Wiimotes (got an extra when I bought Wii Play), 4 nunchuks, a classic controller, a 2GB SD card, a 4GB SD card, Zelda, Excitetruck, Wii Play, Wii Sports, and the following VC games: Zelda I, Gradius, Zelda III, MK64, Kirby's Adventure, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros., and that's it.

The NG code in the games is a console identifier for which game came from which console. If you own the game, the NG code doesn't matter.

I figured that out months ago..

The Wii archives the VC games and puts it on SD card. The game is then extracted with the help of a file checklist which is permanently stored on the Wii's memory to the directory, Root-CA00000001-MS00000002. If the game's directory and file table isn't in there, the games wont copy across.. Those files are only created through the TMD files when downloading the game, but you also need Nintendo's key to install them in the first place.

On top of all of that, the NG code has a checksum, which, if it isn't correct, the Wii will reject flat out.

The only way to circumvent all of this is to set up a private server and send the TMD files through the shop to your Wii, but Nintendo locked that exploit out. Hacking VC games isn't possible, and you are in NO way any closer because you discovered your console has an NG code.

That doesn't defeat the checksum, and that doesn't defeat the Wii's file list.

The bets were made when everyone had coins. Now there's no coins because Nobody's Board went down, nullifying all bets.

It was interesting what was being said about blacking out and stuff before, because occasionally I can come very close to this.

Reminds me of the saddest/funniest moment of my life.

I was 17 and my parents were gone, so I decided to get the Johnson Jelly out and get busy. I did my business in the living room on the couch with a pretty apparent cleanup plan set out. I came, though I don't remember because I blacked out. Apparently I lost consciousness for 4 hours when my parents got home and saw my predickament.

Lately I have been sleeping from 4 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. I adjusted my schedule this way because I've been expecting a Wal-Mart Overnight Stocking job. Now, this isn't happening, and I'm supposed to be helping my family move. I've been slowly bringing myself back to my normal schedule (10 to 8) with energy drinks and espresso.

A new feature for staff: Different color textures for their user stats depending on powerlevel. Much like what Xk and Tina had on the old board.

Holy mother FUCK. I've been looking for how this damn music works for forever! Do you have any documentation on it? If not, can you write one up real quick?

This hack looks amazing though! I like the SM64 stars idea! I can compose some new SMB3 stuff if you need me to.

When I get the flu, it has always been with the nausea. (As opposed to dizziness.) Most recently, though, I got the flu with the dizziness, which was awesome because it was just like taking a bunch of vicitin pills.

There is a chance for me to contribute over at ||board. However, I've been getting extremely disappointed with the abundance of spam (95% of the threads) over there. I hardly want to do so anymore.

So, I've come here looking for that chance. Is there *anything* whatsoever around here that I can contribute to?

Is there a tutorial or perhaps someone who can tell me about making board schemes?

I've got a few ideas that won't turn into total eyesores.

I was fiddling around in my profile the other day and took a look at my RPG status. I've noticed that nobody has Frog Coins. What is its purpose? Will we have a feature that utilizes this? Nobody I've seen has ever had Frog Coins on the old boards...

More themes are on the way. Many more.

They're just going to be color variations of the existing ones I made. Got any color requests?

After these color variations, I'll make others that aren't copies.

Will AE Torture be making a return? I loved that scheme.

You, sir, are a fucking moron. XD

Anyways, I kinda screwed up on the green theme. It uses the black images instead of green ones. It's fixed on my end, and it will be fixed when the next set of themes come out.

The following themes were added:
"A Miner's Lament" (black)
"Emerald Envy" (green, broken)
