Already got that one handed to me...

...by a redneck in real life. A redneck in real life knew this before this board. How does that make you feel?

Supposedly after you get over a certain age, you can't hear the high end of the sound spectrum.

Whoopie.

He meant CCS.

He consistently fails with that acronym of his obsessive anime. It's cute.

Pretty much what X said.

If it's left, have it point left; right - right, behind or forwards - none at all.

Yea, definitely check on another wall outlet to see if it's still doing the same thing.

If nothing else, HDTVs are cheap these days ($400 range starting for decent 32" size).

I don't get it...most cellphone speakers aren't nearly high-fidelity enough to accurately reproduce things like this. Toss in the fact that they're MP3s, which are inherently lossy and noisy (especially at the filesizes/bitrates used by cellphones)...it doesn't seem like it should work...

Got me, but they do. I've heard one personally.

Bass usually sucks ass on cellphones, not necessarily treble. Frequency response range is the secret.

Am I the only one not doing anything/working on the 4th (in the US, that is)?

I've heard enough fireworks in the past four days to last me the next four years as it is.

I thought IrfanView could do this with Batch Processing...

EDIT: Yep. You just have to enable it in advanced options.

Isn't there a test of some sort where you can actually test how high or low your frequency pickup is? I've messed with one in real life but I didn't know if such a simulator existed on the net.

I still have to contend with 56K (26.4kbps, really) and not out of choice. This place is a city and it has a grand total of 30% landline access to high speed. This is really the first area I've ever been to that people have gone to such lengths as doing point-to-point wireless gateways to pick up someone else's DSL 3 miles off via antenna. Most people don't want to foot out the -at least- 50 dollars a month to get wireless, and that's through Verizon if you have a cell.

Nice DSL or DSL2/+ packages don't really exist here. Charter's here for cable and they suck donkey balls (obviously don't have any cable net either).

What.. is it?

Google is your friend. Strangely enough that actually comes up with queries.

I'm just surprised that there are people that don't know this and -I'm- one of many that are usually out of the RH loop.

Oh that was definitely when emulation was at its prime and not very well known. Even to this day it's really not known that well by the general public but it really took a shine back when NES/SNES emus were big. Around the 2003 mark, it waned.

I originally posted out of interest in the emulation line, more or less for interest in music and maybe some basic ROM Hacking (believe it or not, though I never really took interest after I found the 'work' involved) that was demonstrated by Ace's site.

I still say we'd benefit from actually having a working website. We'd probably see the activity here bump up quite a bit.

I did actually mess around with a few editors from Lunar Magic all the way back to when Ace had SMB2 Discombobulator...but I never really took a shine to ROM Hacking in general to the point that I was doing 'zomg ASM haxx0rzingz' and I didn't really get to the point where I could ever take it seriously; I found other things I could do (and do to this day) that are in gaming dev.

I did, however, really started out when DOOM came around. I messed around with WadAuthor ever since I was 13 or so...so it was around 1998 or so (maybe 1997) when I picked it up. The most recently I've messed with it was with Proto K back in late 2005 when he got into DOOM Legacy with a few people once again after a long time. It was really big for me in high school.

Anymore, though, I'm not into it. I consistenly look for really good ROM Hacks or anything that's being developed for the music half of games, but I don't work in it for that kind of dev.
