Ergo Proxy's just alright. It falls into the typical anime traps of over-convolution, dumb explanations, doing suddenly better in the face of adversity, and extremely poor filler episodes, though.

Long dead sadly. At least it's probably coming to the US anyways.

This is precisely why it's long-dead

Aeon Genesis has released a complete translation for the puzzle/adventure title, Snoopy Concert. The game is fairly short, but is a fun diversion nonetheless.

Snoopy Concert is unique in that it's a point-and-click title. You do a separate game for each character; some of them require you to do a little detective work, or to direct Snoopy to win a race, or to get a character to some place. It´s cute, and it´s fun!

Most folks consider 3 to be the series's black sheep. None of them really need to be played to understand the others, but there are a fair few references to older games in the newer ones, so you're missing out if you don't at least have a cursory familiarity with the events of prior Phantasy Star titles.

Personally, my experience has been that PS1 is fairly well balanced and decently fun, PS2 has an overemphasis on level grinding and is alright, PS3 has an _extreme_ overemphasis on level grinding and is rather poor, and PS4 is a lot more focused on the story, with a near-perfect balance between experience/money acquisition and the progression of the plot, and is probably the strongest in the series.

Essays are fun. Here's a little story.

My last semester at UMass, I was writing a novel as my senior honors thesis/project. (I finished it at about 75,000 words, roughly 250 pages.) I also happened to be taking a Comp Lit class - Children's Literature - with the guy who happened to chair my committee. Midterms rolled around, and he reserved a classroom for a 7PM exam; it was part multiple choice, part short answer, part essay, and the reason we were taking it during an out-of-class period was because even though it was supposed to be a two-hour exam, most folks took longer. The prof and the TAs said they'd stay as late as they could, until they started to fall asleep, and in past years that's been until 11:15-11:30 at night. Yeah, a four-hour exam.

I was kind of freaked out. Most everyone else was, too. But the teachers, who knew I was writing a novel (with the prof actually reading it) were taking bets on how many bluebooks my exam would be and how late I'd stay, hah. I left at about 10:30, and filled three bluebooks. My last essay drew parallels between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the bible-prophecied thousand-year-long reign of God where the righteous are saved and the sinners are cast into the pit to have their faults burned out of them. I was one of the top scorers in my class.

Exams are nothing big, especially essay exams. The only problem with essay exams is wrapping it up within the time limit. And even though I spent about three hours on that one exam, my handwriting still deteriorated at the end; not because I was rushing for time, but because my hand was starting to cramp up, heh.

Depends on the TV. Some newer TVs will be able to automatically detect when they're getting a PAL signal and change refresh rates accordingly, but for older TVs you're SOL. And yeah, PAL games won't work on a normal NTSC SNES; unlike the JP<->US physical region lockout, PAL games actually have a software/hardware lockout. I actually have a Terranigma cart, and it won't boot at all in my SNES. The best I've been able to do is with a game genie, and even then I get a "This game is not meant to be played on your NTSC SNES" message.

for headered roms

DUMB

Any utility that requires a header shot be fucking shot. It should detect the header, then strip it off, not work with it. I repeat: DUMB.

Point still stands. No reason to be hex editing a game with a header unless you want to confuse yourself.

Except that there's really no point. The only reason to have a header on your ROM is if you own a copier, which the vast majority of people do not. Even then, if you do have a copier, you'll know how to convert any ROM - with or without a header - to a format that your copier can understand, and can do so quickly. The effort it takes to convert a headerless ROM into one that your copier understands is vastly smaller than the effort it typically takes to wrap your head around the address changes a header necessitates, especially if you're doing assembly-level hacks where addresses are frequent.

Having a utility that requires a header is like having a doctor that will not examine you if you've had your tonsils out. Similarly, not removing a header is like not removing infected tonsils. But unlike tonsil surgery, the removal of the vestigial header is as quick and painless as tearing the stub off of a paycheck.

The point of this is that people will never change unless they're given some reason to change, and the confusion caused by headered ROMs is not enough for most people because they don't really understand what it entails. Nobody should ever be hacking a ROM with a header, period, unless the header is absolutely required for it to run - such as the iNES header - but this is not the case for any Super NES title.

Hey, I understand that SNES headers are pointless. I just don't see it as a big enough issue to purposefully create utilities which don't run headered ROMs in order to sway the entire emulation community toward headerless. I completely understand what all of this entails, and why the headers are useless - I just don't see it as a big deal when other people don't bother getting rid of them.

The unfortunate thing is that most people don't know the difference. I've released sixty-three complete translation patches for games across a variety of platforms, and the *ONLY* ones I get consistent complaints about my patches not working are the SNES ones, and it's always because they haven't read the header instructions included in the readme. Then people start distributing hacks for games and neglect to include header information, and things start to get messy. It would be much better for everyone if ROM headers simply ceased to exist.

Now see, this is funny. This is perfect proof that real humor doesn't come from poorly-drawn phalluses.

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first given your track record as primarily providing poorly-executed toilet humor, but I actually laughed at this thing. Sink the Belgrano indeed.

Super Robot Wars! The original. A translation! Yeah, I know, it's only SRW1. But hey, it's for posterity, yeah? See where it all started and all that.

Aeon Genesis has completed a translation of the original Super Robot Wars game! Thanks must go to Tyria for his dialogue translation (the other things you did are coming soon too, I promise!) as well as Ryusui and Ian Kelley for both translating the stuff that kept turning up quickly and efficiently. (The title screen is also Ryusui´s.)

Please don´t expect much from this. Being the very first Super Robot War it´s not all that great of a game, but it really is an interesting footnote in the history of a truly fantastic series of games.

New in v2.0 deluxe:
-A complete edit and polish of the script
-Font is now fully variable-width (courtesy of RedComet from Twilight Translations)
-Each chapter now has its own unique font, for a total of nine fonts (including the default system font)
-Rom has been expanded to allow for more fonts and more text

Currently, I´ve edited the Old West, Near Future, Sci-fi, Present Day, and Bakumatsu chapters. That leaves the Prehistoric, Ancient China, Medieval, and Final chapters to go - and Prehistoric has virtually no text anyway. There are still some glitches in the code as well; nothing major I don´t think, but they´re issues that do need to be resolved in the end. Regardless, this should be done very, very soon.
