A recent interview with Hidetoshi Endo revealed that Hudson Soft was approached by Masahiro Sakurai to obtain permission to use White Bomberman in the upcoming title Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and that this was granted.

Alakazams have crappy defense, so yeah, kill it before it goes off. If you're having that much trouble, lead with a choice scarfer or something.

Quick Ball seems to have a hidden factor. I've failed a Lv 2, right off the bat with a Quick Ball.. but I've had no trouble with most Lv 50+..
No hidden factor, just random chance. And pokemon being of higher level does not affect their catch rate.
