Just released v1.0 of this large FFVI hack that's been in development for some time. Please check it out if you are interested in challenging, complete hacks to the wonderful game of FF6!

Here is a link to the IPS patch, since I'm not 100% sure of the ROM legality issues on this site:

http://www.ff6hacking.com/Patches/FFVI_ROTDS.zip

Hopefully the nice people here know the difference between a headered ROM and a headerless ROM, this patch requires the ROM to be headered.

If you still have trouble getting it to work, please drop me a PM.

Thank you.

General Description:
Return of the Dark Sorcerer is a Final Fantasy VI hack that's been in development for around 4 years and has had many different hands on to help get it to where it is today. This hack promises to showcase some of the more challenging aspects of FFVI hacking, as well as plenty of fun and exciting new content -- from an all new cast of playable characters with customized movesets, a radically changed story with many new and edited events, a new soundtrack, increase in difficulty, lots of new battle scripts for monsters & bosses, and tons of spritework.

Some of the features include:
- New cast of characters with customized move sets.

- New and customized events.

- A whole new musical soundtrack.

- New WoB and WoR overworld maps

- Heavily modified dialog script is ten times as large as the original game.

- Major original bugs fixed, many of the lesser ones as well.

- WoB Colosseum added.

- Soul Shrine boss medley event.

- FFVI Advance menu and dialog text.

- Longer Esper & Spell names.

- Natural stat growth.

- Stat raising items, ala Chrono Trigger & FFIV.

- Character class names.

- More Rare items, with uses.

- Increased game difficulty.

- Removed level averaging.

- Removed Magicite level-up bonuses.

- Different skills like Magic, Tools, Item etc. all take different time before initiating.

- New Game + event.

- New and customized maps.

- A hundred or so added treasures.

- Music plays uninterrupted (no battle music) in most non-overworld areas.

- The 7 dragons replaced with Lord Envoy's FFVI Advance Monster Den counterparts.

- Super bosses.

- Imported BRR's (instrument samples) from other games.

- New monsters and bosses. (Sprites, battle scripts, stats)

- Unique NPC sprites, and some very interesting characters.

- New spells and spell animations, as well as weapon animations and graphics.

- Hold "B" to sprint.

- High MP costing Spells, and a fixed MP digit in the menu to compensate.

- Near Fatal Status is changed to 1/4 HP from 1/8, to encourage more Desperation Attacks;

- Desperation Attacks is not limited to just once per battle per character.

- New equipment and Relics.

- All items have descriptions.

This is an old discovery of mine but I figured I'd post it up here to show others, or see if anyone else knew of this:

Seems to be all versions. I haven't taken a look at the map yet with SOMEdit, but it seems the developers have a duplicate event trigger for the seed event right in the middle of that wall......

I've made similar blunders in my hack, accidentally/idiotically lol. But yeah, that is pretty bad and makes no since at all, other than it was a mistake they placed a duplicate event trigger/square right above the seed there in the wall. Again, I should check first in somedit to see if that's what it is, but I don't see what else it can be from my experience.
