This is kind of a lame question, but can anyone tell me how to find/extract the default sound files (startup, shutdown, etc.) on the XP and Vista discs, or I guess point me to a download. I kinda messed it up, accidentally deleting a few of them from my hard drive. ____________________ |

I'll have to go into the registry and manually fix part of that. I've got it using the Vista sounds fine, but a few of the XP ones are missing and when clicked on give an error which closes the settings page. See here.
In this case, clicking on 'Asterisk' for example causes the error. Vista mouse cursors are still in the same years-old XP format, they animate and all fine. I love experimenting with operating systems. ____________________ |

I have a Technics brand VCR, I'd gotten it to replace a JCPenney model which clearly had came out of the exact same production line. My old remote even works with this Technics one. Probably like how some cars are rebadged under different names. ____________________ |

Yep. I'm running XP using the Vista sounds. A few XP sound files are missing, and as you figured correctly, that dialog box crashes if I click in some places. I'm pretty sure it can be fixed in the registry. ____________________ |

That sounds like my smw hack. Started way back in 2001... At least it has a decent reception from players. ____________________ |

Weird stuff has been going on here lately. SamuraiX re-regs, and now a hacker? ____________________ |

Six years this August.

I guess, he not only got my (old) password here, but also changed it so I couldn't log in. ____________________ |

Tuna and his 'buddies' got into a flame war with me several weeks ago. Of course, they were ops so no one banned them for it. ____________________ |

There's also Pokesav, or whatever it's called. Flash cart owners don't even need AR codes for certain things. They can edit the save file to put in virtually any Pokemon now.
Also, the US and Japanese save data is compatible for those who have a way to transfer it between games. ____________________ |

D/P with the previously mentioned save editor, lets you set any ability to any Pokemon, something I don't think R/S could do. Wonderguard Spiritomb or Sableye would be unstoppable against certain opponents. I haven't taken the WG Mewtwo into WFC, it'd be boring to watch it rip through just about every team.
For the same reason, Stadium 1 highlights G/S tradebacks that had otherwise legit moves which said Pokemon couldn't learn normally in the 1st generation. ____________________ |

I'd been hacking SMW so long, I went with that for the pic. It used to be a YI giant chomp, back when Acmlmboard had an avatar list for people who didn't have their own. ____________________ |

Posted by Deleted User Wow. Must have been a really bad post for that to happen. Anyway, found the final boss HP yet? Let me know if you ever do. ____________________ |

Keep it up! Seems you're back into hacking again. It'd be interesting to see if a mapper with additional sound channels, like the Japanese Castlevania 3, would work. ____________________ |

2 GB DDR2 should be fine. I have that amount myself.
It isn't a 'software' issue, ATI was late adopting Shader Model 3 in their hardware. Any program requiring it won't run on the x700/x800/x850 family for example. ____________________ |

Really? Big, big, thanks! Still... I did lose nearly all my ROM collection, so I'll have to go "acquire" these games again. ____________________ |

Well, I noticed the tray starting to look a little odd some time ago. Now it mysteriously won't close. The latch seems to be messed up though. Obviously, software not utilizing discs like homebrew or ISOs (just got the Puyo Pop Fever one) isn't affected. I've confirmed that. Haven't tried running a disc. Who knows what would happen... Any suggestions? ____________________ |

Uh-huh. I'll be blunt: anyone who takes conflicts on the internet personally, shouldn't have access to it. I think it's funny people at a certain place with the old URL claim I'm a "fucktard" in their own words, acting like one themselves in the process. ____________________ |

I have criticism of the users, not it's underlying technology. That board is also under active development and does have ideas not found here. FAQ and search from the 'third incarnation', w3c valid HTML & CSS, user interface translations (actually quite neat), etc.
Acmlmboard is somewhat BSD-like in how the existing publicly distributed code can be used for proprietary boards. There are a lot of them, few worthwhile ones remain. Keeping Acmlm/et al in the credits is encouraged however. I've tinkered with it, didn't get far not knowing PHP. ____________________ |

Hey! You might remember me, I got here way back in 2001 and have been around since. I still remember that whole Femine weirdness. The acmlm.overclocked.org website or something was up then, yet had few updates by the time I found it. ____________________ |
