Really good idea. This gives the leveleditor a lot more possibilities to make the game challenging (a bit at least).

I played the demo and really liked it. It was challenging but not too difficult. Only the floating spikemonsters in the third (?) level, which hindered you to climb the wall as Fireball Kirby, gave me a headache. They were placed to close to each other imo.

Hi,

I was wondering what you would like to change regarding the gameplay of SoM?

IMO it would be nice to make the battlesystem a bit more complex. Maybe with a manual block system. It would also be good to have a cooldown on normal attacks (not being able to attack until 100%).

What are your thoughts?

SoM and CT don't blend together well imo. If someone is going to recreate a "complete" SoM he first needs information about what exactly was cut out. Is there any information about this?

I just changed the haircolor of the boy to black. It works perfectly fine with Somedit. It's best to recolor in a real graphics editor and change the palette values accordingly.

I think Mop made significant changes to the ROM when he rewrote the code for the map triggers. He stated that this has not been tested thoroughly. Maybe this causes some errors now. But this should not affect the editor itself.

I wonder if that English retranslation project is still in the works. It would be nice to be able to combine both patches and rediscover the game.


You know we need a translator which is proficient in japanese, so we can finally start on the new story scripts and events, as well as adding potencially new enemies and areas into the game.

I don't see a reason to not start writing a script for your expansion. Sure you need someone to get the retranslation done but how does that interfere with the goal of expanding the game?
There is literally nothing that stops you from writing up a good story that expands the game. There is not much known about the cut material so feel free to come up with something. Just make sure it fits to the original game.
