@MikeTechno; Oh sorry, I suppose I could've just bumped my old thread. It had lots of pictures in it. Not sure why I didn't think of that! Click here for pictures. Just a quick note about link's palette: When I made the hack, I tried every possible color in the NES palette and none of them looked right to go with the "night theme" of the hack. Black was the best option if I remember correctly.
@Chaobomr; What do you mean? Like combine 1.0 and 2.0? The only thing 2.0 does is make the game easier. Unless you mean something else? |

I updated to 2.2!
I accidentally created a game-breaking bug in version 2.1. While I fixed that, I changed some other things, too. Life spell costs 50% less for easier healing. (in easy version) |

Oh I see. That is possible, most likely, but would require a lot of work. It's just simpler to keep them separate. Sorry about that. Maybe for my next project/hack I'll do that. |

Update 2.4! I actually changed quite a bit in this update. Most noteworthy is being able to defeat Carock without using save states. It was possible before, but was extremely difficult. Now you can beat it much more easily, if you choose.
Anyway, this for sure will most likely be the last update. I'm happy with what it is and think the easy difficulty option is much more fair - compared to the original 1.0 release. Enjoy! |

Update 2.5! Fixed the Dash spell and changed some other various things. Like the moon sprite.... |

Hello! This is a new hack for Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls. It is a hard mode for FF1. No changes were made to FF2. Visit the download page to see a detailed description of all the new features. The read me has much information, as well.
Download: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1978/ Version: 1.2 Last Update: April 12, 2014 First, I want to say that this hack is based off of ludmeister's Mod of Balance version 2.2, so it is required that you download and apply that first. It's very simple to find as it's located at RHDN. http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/853/ The file version says 3.0, but he included version 2.2 in the same package. His mod drastically changes a lot of the game's pointers, so my hack is dependent on that, and if you try to apply my hack to a clean rom, it'll create some weird bugs. The goal of this hack to make FF1 DoS harder. The stock game was way too easy, and lusmeister's mod, while amazing, was still not enough to challenge me. So this is why I've made this hack. It was originally just a small side thing that I didn't plan on releasing, but it ended up being a big project. Enjoy! |

Update 1.2 is available. A few changes were made to further improve the hack. The most notable change is healing spells now increase more HP. The white mage/wizard should now be able to better heal your party while fighting the end-game bosses that hit hard. Other various changes were made, as well. Check the readme for details. |
