Heys! I joined here because I need help with my translation hack project on Rockman 7 (uh-huh, not Megaman VII).

I currently finished translating the game, replaced all the Japanese dialogue texts with English--I used the unused lowercase letters opposed to MM7's ALL CAPS.

Here's some screenshots:

But, I can't seem to edit the texts in the intro movie part.

Which are:

しかし... "But..." or "However..."

そして, 数ヵ月後... "And, several months later..."

宿命の対決 I call my hack as "DUEL OF FATE"



If asked why translate Rockman 7 when we already have MegamanVII?

*Because there were some parts in the original that were left out in the localization. That is, the dialogue between Rockman with either Dr.Right, Roll, and Auto/aka Rightot, right after Rockman defeats a Robot Master and before the Get Weapon screen.

*Also the minor cut on the text on the selected Robot Master intro.[/list]


tl;dr..... Again, I just need help editing the intro text part; I already checked it with WindHex and YY-chr but, idk are those graphics a compression-thingamajig?

Heys! I've been lurking in Board2 for quite sometime now and followed your project. And I must say, this is a great Megaman hack! Unlike previous MM hacks I've tried, Reloaded is very interesting to play.

Its difficulty is not frustrating unless you're going the odd order of stages. There is the exception tho, the Mets here are relentless, I almost used all of my sub-weapons just to get rid of them DX

Btw, its odd that you changed Cutman's stage from the previous demos, still the tiles are good.

What I like most in the game is the Skullbase. It forces your to use your sub-weapons to pass thru some obstacles, making the sub-weapons more useful. And the boss rush is cool with life energy refills before fighting the next.

All in all, again, its a great hack! Cheers!

Rockman 7 - Shukumei no Taiketsu English Translation Released!

Heys! Its finally here! If there are problems just post it in this thread!

It's Rockman 7 - Shukumei no Taiketsu from how it was released in Japan. There is a minor difference from Megaman VII which was released in the US; which is the cutscenes after you defeat a Robot Master. You see, after you defeat a Robot Master, Rock is shown teleporting in the lab chatting with Dr.Right only; but in the JP version, Rock has the random chat with either Dr.Right, Roll or Rightot(Auto)!

As some of you may know by now. I have released my translation hack on Rockman 7 (link below)

Please post some concerns, issues and other things. I need feedback on how did the hack go, if it had problems. Recently, my hack was rejected at RHDN b/c of some issues with the file I submitted, I'm not to keen on using ips, removing headers and other things I can't think of.

Heys! I would like to suggest to change Cossack-Eddie to Kalinka-Eddie; so instead of seeing Cossack open his skull, Kalinka takes off her hat then Item comes out! Neat, huh?!

Plot: Kalinka-Eddie is helping Megaman, then discovers that Real-Kalinka is held hostage by Wily. Cossack sends Kalinka-Eddie to help Megaman knowing that his daughter is with Wily!

Well, I haven't got much time to work on the levels of the game, but I had a short time to desing 2 different title screens for the game. I need feedback on this. Which version looks better? The text using one looks better I think, because it doesn't overwrite the tiles of MAN.



The Helmet would be built up from 15 unused text tiles. Yet the image needs 16 tiles, one of them is a black square. The first one has drawn Reloaded GB over MAN text, the second one uses normal editable in hex editor text to show Reloaded GB.
The helmet was drawn mostly from scratch by me. Basically MM4's helmet.


The Reloaded on 1st pic eats up too much on MAN; if you could put the Reloaded below MAN, like on the 2nd pic, that could look good.

But as you said, the text one looks better.

@Anandastoon: I can't seem to see the effects of the ceex & eeex patches. Patched it on the MMV (U) roms, but nothing has changed...

Which enemies does each patch specifically do?

Nice work, Anandastoon! I was hoping for a Tune Woman debut though.

BTW I was thinking of the choice of music, they sound nice, but they're too mellow.

IMO I would like lively rock-like music in Megaman, maybe remix the music to a livelier toned version?

Anyways, I hope you make more cool sprite work! ^^b

EDIT: About the poker faced Marineman, you do know that Megaman sprites have separate face & body sprites. Since most bosses have only one face sprite, you could put extra pixels on the body sprite instead to add facial expressions (for example, place some pixels on the mouth area so that you could have it open, especially Marineman's shooting sprite)

Yea im really hoping someone might be interested in being able to help out with level design also.

I'm not good at that sort of thing either, at all.

I dont have a creative mind, so i cant really think of good clever ideas and design, and all that.

I know there are some romhackers around here who are super good at it...

I'm only able to do programming and that's it..
