The Mythbusters did that one, apparently it's true if you take it to mean: "At any one moment in time, while you're idle/not doing much, no more than about 10% of your brain will be active simultaneously."

It's not just "a form of" it, it literally is exactly that. Alcohol is a drug just as marijuana, cocaine, meth, etc etc is. It just happens to be legal pretty much everywhere, and you drink it instead of smoking it or injecting yourself with it.

Global variables are more for Try usage, but basically it's Exactly What It Says On The Tin. If one part has an event that adds 1 to the first global variable, and a different part checks to see what the value of the first global variable is later, it will be 1. While you can basically do the same thing using the variables of the other parts in the boss, for Try scenarios this allows you to share data between bosses.

As for your second question, just make the proper parts invulnerable, give them an event that basically does "when I get hit, subtract health from part Y", and then halt that even once the parts are vulnerable again. No variables required.

If it takes 'that long' to get a directory list, you've either got way, way too many files in there (1k-10k+), or the server is too slow to give you continuous playback anyway.

Oddly enough there ISN'T a minecraft thread here.

For those living under rocks in the deepest trenches of antarctica:
Minecraft is a sandbox type game where you place various blocks and build things.
In the paid Alpha you do essentially the same thing but you must mine all your resources and fight off hordes of creepy monsters in the night. You can craft various things and explore the infnite landscape.

Alpha costs ~$13 USD, you get all the updates and every future version.

Well, if you haven't even played the original PC one before, then it's probably worth it to get the portable DSi version. Otherwise, I suppose it depends on how much new content is actually in it, if any.

How so? They show useful information, and it's not like the "new style" status bars that Fx and Chrome are using now weren't possible before, they just weren't thought of because we weren't "Web 2.0" yet.

Torches in your inventory should also be automatically converted to lanterns, since he's just changing the graphic and recipe for the item ID of the torches to that of lanterns.
