Does anyone have some general tips on editing the nice storyline text? I mean the thing they show with the blue background, white letters, classic Final Fantasy prologue theme, first thing you see when you open the ROM...

I know stuff about searching, and I've even built my own table for the game. However, the text of the prologue doesn't appear to be all together in one place.

I know Acmlm has done a hack in which he edited the text there (Final Fantasy Mario or something to that effect), so I know its possible. I'm just not sure how to go about it.

If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, NightKev; that wasn't my intention.

I assumed FESS would be a bit more known and that either way you would respect what little sanity I have enough to guess that FESS meant something other than FE:SS, which you couldn't have known I would never type without a colon if I was referring to the game, which I would almost always call FE 8 instead. If I had thought to tell you that bit about myself, perhaps the misunderstanding could have been avoided.

By they way I have around 18 pages to type in the next two weeks as well as two take home tests and various other homework assignments and exams to study for, so this whole FE 6 easy text thing is about dead at the moment.

Origin of Name
At first my username for everything was Kevin1012 (Name + Address (I've since moved so 1012=nothing now)) but then on Warcraft 3, I lost my password. So I was trying to come up with a new name, and since I was into X-Men at the time, I decided to use "Night Crawler". However, I couldn't use spaces in my name so I tried Night_Crawler but lo and behold, it was already taken. So I thought "how can I make my name different?" and started to go with numbers, but then I thought "blech, that's so overused, how can I be different?". After thinking of different permutations of the username, I came up with [r] and used that and changed my username to "Night_Crawle[r]". A little while later, I tried using that at some website and it said "no symbols" so I thought "hmm, maybe if I morph my two usernames together..." and thus I donned the username NightKev.

Occasionally I will append -NCX7 at the end of my name if NightKev is already taken (NightKev-NCX7).

Origin of NCX7
When the name NightKev was taken at some website (I forget which), I thought "well crap, now what?" (since I didn't want to add random numbers). Then I thought "hmm, maybe I'll do a different username combination" and so I took the N and C from Night_Crawle[r], added a hyphen prefix, and added "x7 (times 7, since I like math (ONO!) and at the time my favorite number was 7)" and so -NCX7 was created.

Short/Simple Version of Story
Kevin1012 > Night_Crawle[r] > NightKev
NightKev > NightKev-NCX7

On a side note, this is probably my longest post ever.

Windows XP!? That explains everything right there. The best choice you have is to install Windows 2000 or at least in my own experience, Vista. Both of those are rock-solid when it comes to stability!

XP was the most BSOD ridden piece of garbage I ever had the misfortune of just knowing it's existance.
