Yes, just edit the player_01.bmp file in /img/ and change the graphics in there to whatever you want.

You're in the wrong folder. You need to be in the "img" folder, not the "player" folder.

What they did was probably stack a whole bunch of hidden explosion tanks attached to missile cores somewhere, and when a certain event was triggered the missile cores activated and the explosion tanks turned visible. There wouldn't have been an infinite amount because of the parts limit, though there might have been quite a few.

some kind of Deviation value, similar to BSF, where the bullet fires in random directions at a specified angle (like how you specifiy the Barriers ring.)
Like the WF player ship gun? That would be useful, there have been times I would've liked to have an option for that...

I don't think it's possible to revive destroyed parts yet.

Also, they exploded after being launched because most likely part of the launch event also had the tank "suicide", thus killing it and activating its effect.

Create an event that, when it activates, does "Play Movement" of a missile core with an explosion tank attached, set the explosion tank's "display" to "normal", and have the explosion tank "suicide". That's how the basic event would go.

Except he said they exploded upon being launched, therefore it must've been done with events.

Edit5: For some reason, there might be two "401" choices for the graphics set. If this happens, the first one (middle of the three options) will crash your game with "Error 7", you have to use the second one (bottom of the three choices) for it to work.
