While looking for that piece of information, I stumbled upon this, which also seems fairly interesting to me.
Posted by the linked content
Disassembly—converting the compiled machine code to assembler and then attempting to understand the behavior and organization of a program—is a form of reverse engineering, an activity prohibited by the [Microsoft] EULA. Note that the prohibition of reverse engineering is a common feature of software licenses; Chrome's own EULA includes the same prohibition.

...

Of course, this is one area where open source has a great advantage. The inner workings of open source software are available for all to see, so the entire question of reverse engineering never occurs.
Isn't Chrome open-source? So there's nothing to reverse-engineer, it's all there out in the open for anyone to use... why would they "restrict" it if there's nothing to be restricted?

If it's still covered under warranty then I'd think it would be free to get fixed... that's what the warranty is for, after all.

What they mean is that they reverse-engineered Windows to improve something in Chrome.

That's a big no-no.
Yeah, I got that part. What I was referring to was the (now bolded) portion that stated:

Chrome's own EULA includes the same prohibition [against reverse-engineering].

A huge update to Fraxy has been posted at the Fraxy homepage, however it's a beta update (apparently there are quite a few bugs with it still that he's trying to work out).
A sample of the added content:
* 10 new try commands (you have blackhole89 to thank for the BG-related ones )
* Event Templates in the editor (it has 3 built-ins already for the 12 ex-params)
** You can create temporary templates or save permanent templates
* Some new effectors (one of which creates the "booster" effect, the rest of which are whole-screen effectors)
* 24 new decorative parts

So I've noticed that some of you like to make YT movies of Fraxy, and I'm wondering what video capture/editing programs you guys use (anyone who wants to make some but isn't sure what program(s) to use could use this info, I'm sure (me too )). Also, tips/etc would be nice too.

It's not a joke so much as an awesome preview of things to come (well, hopefully...).

Okay so, it's April 1st now and we only have two submissions... come on guys let's go! This one ends on the 12th due to how late it started but I'm going to judge the ones we have already and I'll judge any new ones as theycome in (gogogo guys!). Kiro&co., go ahead and start judging them now if you want.

Note: All bosses submitted to the March contest must be compatible with version 20090204d.

Edit: If anyone has any suggestions for the theme of the April TotM, go ahead and tell me/Kironide now (via PM, the Wiki or on IRC) so we can pick one to post on the 5th.

It's not just a try. If you go to "Free Play" and fight any boss, you're still stuck in "vertical shooter mode" and can't turn or get out of the corridor.

* Cleaned up the Wishlist page quite a bit, go check it out.
* Cleaned up the user index / boss repository / boss pages / related templates / etc (Kironide and CTR did most of this).

The one on the right is more than a Tetris piece though, it sort of breaks out of the shape the left one holds a bit.

First, a question: Why does everyone call it "401 mode"?

Now, an answer: if you check the Fraxy homepage, you'll see he's almost definitely implementing it for the rest of us to use (just from reading the names of the new try commands alone it's pretty obvious what's going on).

How about, keep the current event system, but add an alternative (the scripting). Cirvante gets his javascripting and you get your point-and-click and everyone's happy.

No, just at least one part needs to be unhidden and have positive HP. It doesn't need to be a core.

Hm. I'm using Fragmentation right now, but I also like Minus World (I used that one for a while too)... I'll vote for Minus World I guess. Then at least I'll be able to tell if I'm logged out or not. (Stupid cookies spontaneously exploding...)

New resolution.
Two, actually. 480x360 and 640x480.

A fixed area is now available. Seems to zoom out and fixes the screen in one place.
It doesn't zoom the screen out at all, that's the new resolutions at work... they're actual different resolutions this time, not just 320x240 zoomed in (that used to be the only one before this current version).

This month's Theme brought to you by CrossTheRubicon (original idea by MM200)!
Posted by CTR
These bosses have triggered events or "chances" that depend on luck and skill to get a desired outcome. Instead of 1 type of attack, there are several that are determined by chance.
You can have the boss randomly switch attack patterns as it gets damaged, start out with a random configuration, or who knows! Just get some luck/chance in there somewhere, and you're good.

This month's submissions must be compatible with 20090408beta + 20090411beta_patch.

If the boss is meant to be played in fixed-screen mode then just state that in the submission description.
