Okay... So!

Long time ago, I made a hack named Legend of the golden mushroom, but never planned on releasing it.
But now, I changed my mind.

It's not even CLOSE to finished, and has alot of glitches.

I put up a video a while ago on Youtube showing how it looks:

Oh yeah, and don't try to go into the shop, or the left house at the town square.
You will get stuck in there and can't get out.

I don't know if I will continue on Super Mario RPG hacking.
I'd love to continue...
Only if I have some motivation, and an idea to continue, I have lots of time though.


The maps only took about 30 mins to 1 hour to make.. The events on the other hand...

PS. Don't mind the person with the glitched textures in the hunting ground, it was gonna be a wandering item seller, but I couldn't be arsed to remove him.

So if you guys have an idea, I'd like to know.

Pretty damn awesome hack in my opinion, gave me lots of inspiration.
Good humor and story. Loved the ending.
This one got more in it than I expected it to be, great job!

Spoiler:
Bugs/Mistakes...?
- You can skip "Geno". (Unless that's what you intended)
- There's a missing floor at... I believe it's the fourth room.
- The part where you swim, the solidity isometric tiles is one tile down, which makes you go "outside" the swimming area.


One last thing... How long time did it take you to make this?

- Zooming in with the screen that follows the mouse makes the screen not follow correctly.
- Zooming in with mask makes the mask smaller also.

A mini hack made for SMRPG.

I started with it at the 28th of June.
And I've worked with it for about 6 hours completly.
It's about 15-20% completed, and has alot of glitches.

(Sorry for the large bad quality picture)


The first thing I did was to start this map from scratch (Upper map) and then expanding it.
Just because I thought it looked kinda good, I thought to continue on it.

I'm not gonna spoil that much of the story, but the name of the hack is the main person. Mario has to find out what is up with HER.



-There's about 15 event scripts currently used, 15 action scripts, and 10 dialouges.
-There's gonna be alot of NPC's in this hack.
-There's gonna be 12+ levels. Currently 4.
-There's a new attack animation. New animations might pop up in the future.

If anyone would like to contribute with ideas it would be appreciated.

Approx length ~30 mins. Depends on how many maps I am gonna use.

RELEASE DATES ARE EVIL!

Fact: I have no idea if Jenku is a real word. I just randomly thought of a name, and that's what came to my mind.

Hello and welcome.
I'm gonna try to explain this with pictures.
First you have to either create or have an existing exit at bowsers castle.


Change the destination to the Mushroom Kingdom Castle.
Mushroom kingdom Castle Throne Room is {018} as you can see.



Find the isometric spot where you want to place Mario.
This is at the door of the throne room.



Now punch those numbers into the Dest. Coords at Bowsers first room.



And now you are ready to go!
Don't forget to save everything!

Action scripts: Transfer to coords (2). Changing the facing direction adds 32 to the Z coordinates.

I got this error out of nowhere.

It became MUCH easier now. Although I died twice before I beat red thwomp..
It took me a while before I found the bridge.

The two-door house puzzle wasn't only hard because of the puzzle itself, it was difficult because of the lag it produces. So whenever I tried to jump on a platform, I would just fly over it because of the lag.
If you somehow could fix that, it would be great.

Also when Patroklos grows the plant, you can get stuck in that plant after you kill it, and keep on entering a new battle with it.

Minor spelling error in your message at *I've got all the shells!*. "killed everone."

That's pretty much it.

Thank you for the release.
Now I can continue on Jenku.

The only problem I have now is the Effect editor.
Whenever I try to draw graphics in it, it's not drawing the correct tile.
If I import an image, it will put garbage on it in-game.
If I re-open the effect editor, the graphic will be all messed up.

Yamanaka Ino, I think I know what the problem is.
You are using the wrong version of the (U) ROM.
This has happened to me before.

To make sure you aren't using the wrong ROM, go to Mario's pad and talk to the toad that bumps into you.
Then say yes to him teaching you how to use items.
When you open up the menu, you will eventually freeze when toad shows up.

The alternative is to go to Johnny and make him give you the blue star, that should freeze you too.

Well, it has gone an ENTIRE YEAR since I last posted anything about this.
Finally, there's a playable version of Jenku, though it's only a demo.
This hack got waaaay more advanced than I expected it to, and it got out of hand, but eventually I managed to make it look nicer and reduced the amount of bugs.
It was not really difficult to make it, it was rather easy, but it's really redundant, and I've encountered a few Lazy Shell "errors", which won't come in an Exception form, that I after an hour or two realized after that you just needed to restart the program and it would work afterwards.

Anyways, this hack only contains 7 maps, and a small story going on. There's actually objectives that you have to do. (Which was one of the most difficult parts to make)
The part that I'm most proud of in this hack is a part with stairs, not by how it looks, but how it works. (You'll figure it out)



If anyone wants to leave any feedback on the hack, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Don't forget to post any bugs either. If you find any, that is.

This hack is gonna be divided into 3 (or more) Acts, and the demo only contains Act 1. Act 1 contains no battles... Yet. It's also pretty unfinished.
Most NPC's currently have nothing to say, and will give you the message "No dialogue yet!".
I took alot of advantages from If set, mem... in this hack, I find it very useful!

And okay, I honestly had no idea about those checks, and I shall go change them. I had coded with most of those checks a long time ago. Thanks for the advice!

When I coded Jenku (the character) with some of those checks a while ago, I somehow managed to make it so the World Map music would appear, with just a black screen.
Even better, another check made Jenku say "I'll let you join the “Koopa Troop”. You can thank me later..." and she went out the door.
I'm not sure if it was the checks, or if it was a bug with the editor.

And sure, you can add it to the list. I'm just wondering why your hack list thread is not stickied, as it is a very useful thread.
I can provide with an additional screenshot and a video preview, but I don't really know what the description should be, I'm guessing it should be something like:

"Mario just woke up out of his bed, and he received a note. Now he is about to go on a mission to a mysterious town, to help the people in need."

Something like that. The note however was not shown in the demo version.

Animations tab suddenly stopped working completely on v3.15.1, happens no matter what now.
I can still open animations tab on older versions.

I replayed the hack again, and found a skip, I'm not sure if it's that major anyway, since you'd be underleveled.

Just jump on Ivanov's head and let him go past the event area.
