In the ice palace theres so many keys as locked doors. Im guesing you didnt find the one hidden in the trick torch surrounded by brown bumps, when you go to the global left section of the dungeon. The trick is to go back when hitting the peg swithch, get the key and then continue.

Regarding the armor. Ive calculated that with the level1 mail/armor you can finish the game normally, since you have a lot of rupees and you can buy a lot of potions. But yes, some enemies maybe take to much health, specially Ganon, still the game is beatable and tested without cheating.

HYRULE SPRINGS

Another big area. This is where all the Hyrule waters start to flow. It is a fine combination between water and land. There were some minor problems on the bridge, so I had to redo the whole small island, by extending it to the south. Now there was enough room for the tiles, that make an ending of the stone path, and the tree could be drawn normally. Grass patterns and bushes had to be altered. They are now better.

Sprites had to be inserted, since there were no sprites what so ever when I got the game. New entrances were drawn, so that some unused caves could be inserted. This required a change in the eastern wall, making another »turn«, so that the cave can be drawn.

The indoors…
The indoors have 3 brand new caves, which I was working on for quite a while and a special indoor area with multiple BGs. Looks nice. Of course the whole thing had to be tested if those staircases really take you to the appropriate BG. Music and hill jumps were also tested.

@Jigglysaint
Regarding Ganon. You need at least 2 fairies, blue and green potion, then you can defeat him without cheating.
Regarding the mazes. Yes, it takes quite some time, since the statue moves so slowly, so I recommend to everyone to put the emulator's display speed to 140% or 200%.

@TwoTone
Go left from the village and on the end of the road theres a cave with a vital item. Then go south of the village and on the end of the road theres another cave. Use the item iside to come to the graveyard with the 2nd dungeon.

Now that you've found the flute and the master sword, your way is open. Just fly to number 3 to come to the 5th dungeon.

@LinksBiggestFan
There's only one boomerang in the game, and it is the magic boomerang (red one). The blue one is the normal boomerang, but it is not in the game.

Yes, Im avare that in the mountain area there should be no bushes, because of the random possibility of the hidden guard inside, that doesnt fit the gfx, but Ive left that one bush, since the possibility of the guard inside is one out of the million. I guess you had that one out of the million possibility. Try it, enter the nearest cave and exit it and cut the bush, repeat that, and you'll see how many times the bug soldier will appear.

PS The only elements missing before the 7th dungeon are: cane of somaria, mirror, silver arrows, but you cant get them anywhere else but the dungeons to come.

@TwoTone
The chest that is permanently locked is a different kind of chest. You can never open it and there is nothing inside.

The third dungeon is connected with flippers. Now that you have the hookshot, you can return to the village and gain some new elements. Then you can go to the right where the water is. Use the hookshot to grapple across the hills to the dungeon entrance.

This game was tested numerous times on numerous versions and it has no bugs, just some minor display lapsuses, so I suggest patching to the correct rom and then turning the video settings of the emulator to normal (i.e. no special video effects like softening the edges etc).

PS My PC is quite poor and it never crashed a SNES game even on high video settings, it just worked slowly, so I turned the effects off. Also if the weather is really hot (dont know how much degreese you have) you might want to open one side of the PC. In my case the picture always freezes in summer because of the heat, that affects the RAM of the PC.

Go to the forest. Use the hookshot in one of the caves. Then go south of the village, theres another cave there; the third cave is northwest of the Pyramid.

Your main goal is the village, the house with the green roof. Use the boomerang there. Step on the star and throw it diagonally to a star. Use the new item to come to the 4th dungeon.

Some specific PSP snes emulators perform quite well (in comparisment to DS where a decent one is still missing), but not all of them.

The magic mirror comes much later in the game, since this is not one of my favourite items - the warping can cause problems in the introductory dungeon etc.

@bradzx
Yes, this are one of those annoying display lapsuses, that Ive never been able to completely remove. Some torches are infront, but sometimes Link is infront (only displayed, not actually).

@jjjon123
The electric barrier infront of the castle was meant to be destroyed with the Master sword (sword3). You need it anyway to beat the boss of this dungeon.

edit
Ive tested it out. The barrier can also be crossed with the cape (well we learn something new every day), but still the dungeon can really be difficult without the sword3, plus you can not defeat the boss.

Go to the town and speak to the farmboy regarding the sword3.

What you are talking about is actually the speed-run playing. You actually dont have to defeat any boss. You can play any dungeon just up to the main item and quit the dungeon. You also dont have to backtrack from a lot of dungeons by just using save and quit to come out. You can use the cape and get the hammer, and quit without a fight. You can finish the game without having a single crystal, you just need the cane of somaria and silver arrows; you can also use cheats (like infinity health).

For instance: you can solve Parallel Worlds by just finishing 2 dark world dungeons, but like said, this is speed-run playing, and the game wasnt meant to be played this way.

edit
The main barrier before the 5th dungeon are actually rocks, that can be destroyed only with shoes (from the 4th dungeon), the electric is there just to tell you to get the sword3, which you definitely need to finish the game, since you cant defet Ganon without the sword. If you use the cape, you just skip the sword, that you eventually have to get.

Regarding the shop. Ive decided to replace it with the cave where you get bombs and arrows without paying any rupees.

Regarding the pond. Here's where you can increase the number of arrows and bombs, like in the original game. You need a hammer, otherwise you could spend all the rupees to early. Then you cant get the flippers.

See that star on the ground, it always tells you that something is hidden or that there is a trick somewhere. In this case it tells you that the big statue right down of the star is a trick statue, that you can pick up and get past it. Then you can come to that pot down there.

PS You can get the Quake medallion in a cave north of the grave only by hookshoting across the pit (but since you have no hookshot yet, I really dont know how you got it already).

Nice moves. And remember, this game doesn't require bomb jumps and other complex moves that you know from PW, but it has some riddles that are not popular with all the players. However, if you've finished PW (like me), there should be no problem accepting them.

@bradzx
The Cane of Byrna (blue one) is the primary item in one of the dungeons, with it you'll get more protection.

Ive just realized you actually need The Cane of Somaria (red one) to make blocks. This cane is also a primary item in one of the dungeons, so you cant miss it. But you probably have a problem in the dungeon with the monkey statues. At the very beginning use the Ether medallion instead of the cane.

PS Remember that switch in the guardhouse in your previous question, well it is the same thing in the ice temple and the rod, that you need, is the same.

@TwoTone
The ice area can be reached by a warp, that is just east of the village.

Ice rod wont work, because these enemies are stronger. The quake also wont work, only the ehter can freeze them at the start of the 7th dungeon.
