I've been silently working on this for the past few weeks. Here's a new batch of screenshots.

First, Yoshi's Beachhouse. Nothing big, not even anything in the level except one message, but I figured I'd show it anyway.

This was posted in the General SS thread but I'm posting it here too. This is the Yoshi Cove. I'm also introducing multiple colors of Yoshis into my levels.

This is in the southern part of Yoshi Village. The southern village has no enemies in it and is small but you can explore some of the Yoshis' houses, like Purple Yoshi's house here.

This is the northern part of the village, where the Dino-Rhinos are attacking. The house is supposed to be the gatehouse. The fences are custom-made by me. (Just realized that there's palette inconsistency between this and the previous shot on the fences. I'll fix it later.)

This is inside the gatehouse. To get the key to unlock the northern gate, you need to find a springboard in another level. The pipe leads...

...To here. This is the second half of the level, with Dino-Rhinos and pipes. I still have to fix the Classic Pirhana Plant colors though.

The village's plumbing. You may remember this level from the old Secret of the Switch Palaces demo. I've majorly overhauled the outside area but the inside plumbing is largely the same.

Just another pic from an old level.

This is part of the main overworld. I'm creating it as I go along so all I have is World 3 and part of 4. The lower area is the beach and then the village is obviously where the houses are. Castle 3 is on the top right side of the green island, off-screen.

Ok, other than that stuff, I've got nothing. I'm splitting working on this with writing a story and reading comics at night.

So I have to work Saturday night. 10:30 to 6:30, does this mean I'm only working 7 hours?

Sounds like it.

I actually don't see how changing it earlier saves energy. I haven't seen an explanation for it; I only heard that it was happening.

Oh, Chip's Challenge... There's some nostalgia. I had that game on the Windows 3.1 laptop my dad gave me. I still do, and managed to get it copied to my current computer, along with the editor. I even managed to make several levels of my own that were not (in my opinion) hard like the ones in Chip's Challenge 2 (A collection of 150 fan-made levels. They are all really tough.)

You know, I could give Chip's Challenge to anyone who wants it. Just tell me and I'll give it.

I also drew out on four sheets of paper, front and back, an entire Metroid game. I even invented three new upgrades: Super Bombs (more powerful than Power Bombs), Mini-Morph Ball (shrink the morph ball for access to even smaller areas and Controlled Shinespark (you can direct the shinespark while doing a Morph Ball Shinespark). Now that interdpth is making Zero Fission, maybe I can actually follow through and make my game!

Do you mean that the string has begun to unravel? If so, you can keep playing on it but be aware that it won't probably sound as good as it did before. You should replace the strings as soon as you can.

As for an online place I'm not sure. Where do you usually buy string and accessories from? Try wherever you shop online.

I used to use Dominant strings on my violin until my private teacher told me that Obbligato strings were better. Those are even more expensive than Domminants ($30-$40 a string). You could look into those but I know that cello strings are much more expensive than violin.

To change tile properties and make new tile in general, open the 16x16 editor. (The button with a ? block on it.) Once in the editor, there are two ways to do make your tile.
---------------------------------
Method 1: Find tile 1EB on the second page by using the up/down arrow keys to change pages. From the bottom-right corner, go up one row and left four columns. You can also find what tile you have by hovering the mouse over it and looking in the bottom left corner of the editor. Click the tile to select it. It will appear in the lower-left corner. Then go down two pages so you have page 3, or page 0x3 as it says in Lunar Magic. Once there, paste the tile anywhere on the page by right-clicking on any of the strange light blue squares. Tile 1EB will paste itself there.
Now, the hard part. Find the tile that you want the copy of tile 1EB to look like. Click it, then click on the button labeled "Edit 16x16 Attributes." In here, remember the four hex numbers show four the 8x8 tiles. Write them down if you must. Then, return to the copy of tile 1EB that you made and change the tile numbers in the 16x16 attributes window to match the ones in the tile you want your copy to look like. If you do this correctly, your copy of tile 1EB will look exactly like the tile you chose to make 1EB look like. If it doesn't, use the "Edit 8x8 Attributes" to flip the individual 8x8 tiles, or if the colors are wrong, try changing the palette of the tile using the 16x16 attributes. Once it looks correct, right click on page 0x3 to paste the completed tile. To use the tile, open the add objects and use the "Direct Map16 Access" to find the tile and then paste it in.

Method 2: This is easier, but realize that method one is just about the only way to create custom tiles so you can't only use method two for everything.
Ok, to start, find the tile that you want tile 1EB to look like. Once you've found it, click it, then paste it on page 0x3. Then, open the "Edit 16x16 attributes and find the box labeled "Gameplay Properties of 16x16 tile." In the box there, delete the hex number there and type "1EB" into the box. This will make the tile look exactly the same as it did before, but when you play the game, it will act as you want it to. To finish, paste the changed tile onto page 0x3 and you are done. Add it the same way as you would the other way.
---------------------------------
That's how you make new tiles using the 16x16 editor. Hope it helped.

Whew...that's the most help I think I've ever given...

Yesterday I find that I can't log onto the Internet. Says that it's unable to connect. Naturally, I run a diagnostic of the problem. It's solution is to reset Winsock so it has all it's base service providers reinstalled and then restart the computer. So I tell it to do so and let the computer reset itself. Comes on, I log in, open IE7. Nothing. Same "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage." So I run another diagnostic and the resluts are as follows:
------
Last diagnostic run time: 03/24/07 14:54:14 WinSock Diagnostic

Ok, by this time, I'm frustrated and unplug everything. Yay, no Internet for me.
Let the computer sit overnight. This morning my mom comes and tries to get on and is successful. So am I.
My question is, should I be worried that my Winsock is corrupted and needs a fix? This happened once before and Geek Squad had to fix it. We aren't going to call again. I also just downloaded a Winsock Fix incase it happens again or I need to fix it soon, before it does it again. I don't want to go through this process again, and I can't be sure that the connection will come back from being turned off overnight. I'm pretty sure that that was sheer luck.

I download enough hacks to know that by now.

This is a mystery to me. I've never seen such a garbled mess before when I play it. The strangest thing is that Mario's sprite is perfectly fine...

EDIT: I patched it to a Super Mario World (U) [!] ROM. 513KB too. I've used copies of this same clean one for plenty other hacks and have never had the problem.

Since I changed Yoshi's palette to use palette E (A rotating palette), I accidentally stumbled onto something. When I ate a blue shell with him, I noticed that I couldn't fly and when I ate a yellow one, I could fly and make sand clouds. So i decided to see if changing Yoshi's palette number did anything else to the shell powers. Here are my findings:

Palette 8: (Basically a copy of the Blue Default)

G: Fly
R: Fly/Fire
B: Fly
Y: Fly/Sand

-------
Palette 9: (Basically a copy of the Yellow Default)

G: Sand
R: Sand/Fire
B: Sand/Fly
Y: Sand

-------
Palette A: (Yellow Default)

G: Sand
R: Sand/Fire
B: Sand/Fly
Y: Sand

-------
Palette B: (Blue Default)

G: Fly
R: Fly/Fire
B: Fly
Y: Fly/Sand

-------
Palette C: (Red Default)

G: Fire
R: Fire
B: Fire/Fly
Y: Fire/Sand

-------
Palette D: (Green Default)

G: Normal
R: Fire
B: Fly
Y: Sand

-------
Palette E: (Strange mix here. Blue shells do nothing.)

G: Normal
R: Fire
B: Normal
Y: Fly/Sand

-------
Palette F: (Strange mix again. Looks like an incomplete Yellow default. Note that blue and yellow are the same.)

G: Normal
R: Fire/Sand
B: Sand
Y: Sand

The last two palettes are really strange. At least I understand now how the special Yoshi's have their powers. I knew it had something to do with palettes but I couldn't figure it out before.
Now, since I'm planning on keeping Yoshi on palette E, I need to figure some way of either working around the blue/yellow shell changes or adapting them to fit. Now, I wonder if this same palette/shell power thing affects Koopas as well...

We won't pay them for anything again. My mom is convinced by now that they leave something in your computer that causes troubles again so they come and fix it again for more money.

My TI89 doesn't even show digits. Instead, it will show pi as its symbol unless I force a decimal count and even then I think it must be to at least 50 digits internally.

It's amazing what people will do for money. In fact, my brother and his friend held up a lemonade stand with airsoft guns for five bucks. Go figure.

...is that legal?

I don't know. They weren't really serious though and I'm pretty sure they knew the people at the stand. It wasn't just a random lemonade stand.

I don't know anyone here in real life, but I saw on the ABII Guestmap that was made that two people are close to me (within Fairfax County, VA or right next to it.) Someone was in Herndon I believe. I'm over near Fairfax Station, VA. Only 20 minutes away from DC.

(Wooh! 100 posts! *ahem* Excuse me. )

For me, I have to take end of course Virginia SOLs. Easiest things ever. Especially when compared to the SATs I took last weekend. Let's see, I have an SOL in Precalculus, AP US History, Physics, and English/Writing. Then I also have the AP Test for history. But those are in May so I have time.
