Simple enough, we make situations of any type, real or non-real, silly or serious, etc., and then answer "What would you do?" in that situation. Feel free to make up situations whenever you want, but try to give each situation some time to get some answers.
There is one rule/guideline. 1. The creator of the situation can place any restrictions on their scenario. Here's one to start you all off: "You are falling from 30,000 feet up in the air. You want to live, y'know, because living is good, so you hope to slow yourself down to a point where you won't go splat. Falling with you are a cell phone, 25 feet of rope, a cat, a bowl of jello, an umbrella, 15 packs of bubble gum and a baby sperm whale. There is a lake that you can see very far down below but not under you. Wind is strong below the clouds. This is an unrealistic situation with no physics besides gravity and acceleration due to it. Restriction: No teleporting to safety. What would you do?" Have fun! ____________________ |

That's really funny. What a coincidence that those two store are right next to each other. ____________________ |

Ok, for no reason, my file all of sudden is running constantly at about 3/4 normal speed. I've done nothing I haven't before, other than insert a lot of ExGFX today but that shouldn't do anything. The ZSNES emu speed is at 1x so it's not that. I've also tried using three different versions of ZSNES as well (1.50, 1.42 and 1.36) but the problem is the same. And also, after having loaded my hack, I tried another file and the same thing happened to that file. Does anyone know what I could've done to have this happen and how I can fix it?
I will admit though, that the 3/4 speed SMW tunes aren't bad... ____________________ |

Meat, French Fries and asparagus with toasted parmesan cheese on it for dinner. Yum.
And to whoever asked about eggplant a while ago, it taste pretty much whatever you are eating it with. Not much flavor on its own but mixed with stuff, it gets better. ____________________ |

Yeah that's not a bad idea. You could have the green coins be used to purchase thing to upgrade your account: more EXP per post, more yellow coins per post, things like that. ____________________ |

I tried erasing the config file but no good. In fact, this isn't even limited to Super Mario World anymore. All the roms I tested are slow. Oh, and it's not just the music, it's the whole game. I'm thinking of just downloading a new ZSNES.zip, deleting the old one and trying a new one. ____________________ |

School:
-The damn science fair final paper due Thursday. -I think I have a History Unit Test in like, 3 hours... Other -Work on my SMW hack -Get my ZSNES to emulate speeds correctly again. -Try to write a story I've started. Harder to do but there's some inspiration in me to do it. -Finish my other fanfic. (Yeah, like that'll happen. I haven't worked on it in about 7 months.) -Beat Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. That's about it for me. The ZSNES problem is killing me but I think I know what to do. ____________________ |

Posted by Raccoon SamPosted by FirePhoenix0 Thanks. However, I have no clue how to do any ASM/Hex. I really need to sit down one day and figure out some of that stuff. I had the idea when I was going to have Mario end up in the past somehow and I wanted it to look like he was in a black and white flashback. That idea never materialized but a day/night idea would be awesome. I'm just wondering whether or not the Special World effects can be cancelled or re-applied. ____________________ |

Ok, I'm pissed now.
So I think it has something to do with ZSNES and my many versions of it laying around on my computer. I then proceed to find and delete all the files (minus the .smc's, .srm's, .zs#'s and other stuff) associated with ZSNES. That meant all the zsnesw.cfg's hiding on there, all the zmovie.cfg's, the docs folder, the .zip's of the different versions and anything else that ZSNES might have used. Then I take all the roms from all the folders I had them in and stuck them in one big ZSNES folder. I open up the Internet and proceed to download the newer ZSNES 1.51 and unzip it into the folder. I open it up and load a game. THE SAME DAMN SLOWDOWN PROBLEM HAPPENED. How could this be? I deleted every file that was marked ZSNES on my computer, even running a search to make sure I wiped them all! Every one of my SNES roms are running at 1/2 to 3/4 speed. What makes the least sense is that ZSNES 1.51's config file shouldn't make it act like the previous version were. I for the life of me can't figure this out. What pisses me off more, is that the damn things work fine on my downstairs computer, and the ones at school. And that was the same version, copied to my flash drive and used. Does anyone have even the slightest clue why all of a sudden my computer is doing this? No other programs are running slowly, so it's not an issue of I'm using up too much RAM. I have 1GB of that. ____________________ |

I'd say "char" because that is how it's spelled. If it's supposed to be "car" why not call it "Car?" ____________________ |

Posted by Sparx Yeah it does. Windowed and fullscreen. I wonder if it's one of the display modes that is causing it but I've used them all before with no problem. All I'm using now is no interpolation. ____________________ |

This is quite an unactive board, but maybe I'll get some replies.
Ok, I'm writing a Zelda fic. My last fanfic, a Metroid one died on Chapter 21 of the second fic. (It was a two-part fic.) Hopefully this won't drag on as long as the last one did. The story takes place about seven years after Twilight Princess. Link has returned to Ordon Village to live his normal life. Soon after returning, he married Ilia and together they had a son, named Eldric. Link and Epona still have their ranching jobs with Fado and so everyone is living a peaceful life in the village. I'm not fully sure what is going to happen that will cause Link to take up his the Master Sword again, but I know that it will involve the Twilight Realm and Midna once more. I've written Chapter 1 so far. Any comments would be appreciated. Chapter 1 Deep in the southernmost reaches of Hyrule lies a small province, the smallest of all those under royal control. The province of Ordon is a beautiful ecosystem, lush with dense forests, crystal clear rivers, and fauna of that likes that many inhabitants of Hyrule have never seen. Yet, in spite of this splendor, very few people live here. In fact, there is only one village in the Ordon Province. A small village mostly given to farming and herding, life is peaceful in Ordon Village. Under the leadership of Bo, the mayor, the town flourishes. The goat-herder, Fado, has his ranch atop the large knoll overlooking the rest of the village. The rest of the villagers lead simple farming lives, growing bountiful harvests and selling them in the Hyrule Castle Town Market. However, there is one villager that can instantly, be differentiated from the rest. Link slowly rode his horse, Epona, up the hill to the ranch. The sun was rising to his left, chasing away the last remains of night as pale orange glow draped the land. His mind turned to the tasks ahead of him. Today was nothing different; just the standard day working on the ranch. The goats would have to be awoken, checked for sickness and fed. Then they would be milked and the milk would be bottled and stored until the next trip into market. Finally, the goats would be let out into the field to graze and enjoy the warmth of the sun’s rays. Reaching the top of the hill, Link saw Fado opening up the stable. Fado saw him coming and hollered out to him. “G’mornin’ to you, Link,” said Fado when Link neared. Link nodded and replied, “Morning, Fado. Ready for today’s work?” “Course, Link! Why shouldn’t we be?” he asked with a laugh. He went into the stable. Link dismounted Epona and led her by the reigns into the stable. Up at the back wall, Fado reached his hand into a basket, pulling out a shiny, red apple. “Catch!” he shouted and tossed the apple to Link. Link caught it easily and wiped it with his shirt. He then turned and gave it to Epona as a snack. Fado then grabbed two more apples and tossed one to Link, who caught it and went over to his friend. Fado was a tall, slender man of his late thirties. Dirty blond hair and blue eyes were the most prominent facial features. As were most of the men in the village, Fado was muscular from the farming and ranching he had done over the years. He had inherited the ranch from his father who, now in his old age, spent the days at home with Fado’s wife. Link had always liked Fado, even from an early age. Maybe it was because of his carefree manner and positive outlook. Link guessed though that it was probably because they were very much alike. “So, Link,” asked Fado, biting into his apple, “How’re Ilia and little Eldric doin’?” Link leaned against the back wall, chewing the last the bite in his mouth. Swallowing, he replied, “They’re doing fine, thanks. Ilia is always up at dawn like me and Eldric is up after I leave. He helps his mother do the chores around the house for now, but soon he’ll be able to help farm outside. He’s turning six years of age soon, did you know?” Fado looked a little surprised. “Is he really? Seems like only a little while ago he was nothin’ but a small baby in his father’s arms, eh?” Link agreed with him. “So, uh, any chance of him comin’ and workin’ with his dad soon?” he asked quietly, taking another bite of his apple. Link shook his head. “Nay, not for a couple more years. This is skilled labor that we do. He needs to grow stronger and learn more before he joins us.” “Ah, tis a shame that we’ll have to wait. A boy comin’ from such fine breeding as you would be a welcome addition!” Fado replied happily. He finished his apple and tossed the core to Epona. Link did likewise, starting up the next round of conversation. “Hey, Fado, where is that young rascal, Colin? He should’ve been here by now,” he wondered aloud, walking to the stable doors and peering out. Fado shrugged as he walked over, answering, “I dunno, Link. Maybe he overslept.” He grinned. “Bet you five Rupees that’s the case.” Link returned the grin, saying, “Deal!” Fado looked satisfied and turned to the sleeping goats. “Ok, Link, enough of our chat. These goats aren’t goin’ to milk themselves.” He walked to the nearest goat and woke it up. Link did likewise, starting on the opposite side. The sun finished rising and draped the ranch in bright sunbeams. A lone person could be seen racing up the hill to the ranch, and soon Link would owe Fado five Rupees for the bet made earlier. Again, comments would be nice. ____________________ |

Ah, the good old laser suit. I've yet to see anyone use it though. Probably because the thing uses both the cape and fireball slots. But it would be really cool to use in a futuristic style Mario game. ____________________ |

Still having problems, but I think it's the SNES roms that are the problem. Yesterday, I downloaded SNES9x v1.43 for Windows and tried a game on it. I had the same slowdown problem.
I'm ready to admit defeat. There's no way I'm going to do anything to my roms, like delete and re-download and pray they work right. I'll just have to live with the slowdown. Heck, I did it last night while playing a new SM hack. In fact, the slowdown may help because I can see things coming at me quicker and react faster. Oh well...Thanks for everyone's help. ____________________ |

I'm in Computer Graphics 1 at my school and I thought I'd show off what I've done recently. (I had to size them down from 1500X1200 pixels and 1200X1500 pixels, respectively, so that's why some parts of them look pixelated.)
I call it "Desert Rain Landscape." We were assigned as extra credit to make a landscape using Wacom Tablets. It started as just a desert but then it became night. And then I decided to have it rain. All in all, I think it came out pretty well. This was a graded project. We had to make a magazine cover and I chose Rom Hacking as the topic. I really like the finished product. I'm not sure how much the teacher does (He's an asshole.) but the rest of the class did. In the planning stages, I was going to make the main article about Lunar Magic and have a picture of myself carrying the SMW blocks into place instead of using a mouse to point and click. ____________________ |
