I think the fact that were having this much argument about Yoshi on the internet is ridiculous. To each his own and that's that. I use Samus, Marth and Ganondorf but just to have fun, not take the fight incredibly seriously. If Yoshi Master is good with Yoshi so be it, if Alastor is good with Mewtwo or Samus that so be that as well. I've said my part in this discussion, now I'm moving on and not embedding myself in the discussion anymore.
As for the new stage, I think that if all the platforms are breakable, that's going to be a big turn-off. Sure it'll be fun for a while, but after some time and unavoidable self-destructs people will start to wish they could just be on solid ground. I think it'll be a less-played course with other levels available to play. ____________________ |

I like the world 2 map, but I can tell that each of those sparkles are the same tile. You know there are four tiles with sparkles? Mix them up so it looks more natural.
As for the demo, I won't mention the YI pillars again. You already know that. At first I didn't realize that I'd lost all my power-ups but when I did, I realized that you had to do that so people could cheat on the puzzles you made. Plotwise, as for why Mario loses his power-ups, you should maybe address that. Maybe Bowser had someting to do with it? ____________________ |

My first hack release! This game is a short one world prologue to my main game "The Forever Mystery Part One: Rescue!" However, it's not a demo; it's a completed game.
The plot is simple for now: Bowser has kidnapped Peach and Mario swears vengeance. The interesting thing I came up with is that the characters are aware that they are part of a game, ala Banjo-Kazooie, so Mario will speak to the player throughout the quest. The hack features: No ExGFX (Doesn't fit here because the main game has none and it doesn't make sense to me to have the prologue have ExGFX and the main game have none.) Hey just wondering, are you still going to document the ASM for the original SMW sprites? Because I really want to try something with the portable springboard but without the ASM (which I would have no clue how to find) I can't do anything. ____________________ |

I'll fix that with the Blurp. I never noticed it before for some reason. As for the other stuff Phazorite has mentioned, like the spike run and red castle, check the Release forum to understand.
I'm partial to the square corner for some reason. I just like them. *shrug* As for the 5 switch palaces, that's not ASM, that's just a clever trickery on my part. There aren't 5 switch palaces in the game but there are cyan ! blocks. ____________________ |

Yes but that was just a strike without flames shooting up and an explosion if charged fully. This one's a bit different.
As for the update, if heavy characters are going to have flinchless moves it could balance the game better. In Melee, Ganondorf vs. Fox is suicide because you can't hit fast enough. ____________________ |

It's a title-in-progress but, it'll work for now. Anyway, I'm working on something new. The story goes that this Shyguy has defected from Bowser's forces with dreams of conquer of his own. To realize these dreams though, he must first steal the Dark Tome from a deserted underground shrine. With the Tome in hand he must set out to find the Onyx Wand, a wand capable of fulfilling his dreams of power.
Here are some screens from the game. Only one level done so far. I added SMB3 bricks and I've been changing the palettes and graphics of lots of blocks and items. The bricks are also animated but the shot doesn't show that. Zero Mission graphics work great here as shrine graphics. Inside the shrine. Expect to find a few hidden passages in the walls. No enemies though, since it's supposed to be deserted. It's a find the Dark Tome and leave sort of level. For the record, I really like that running sprite I gave the Shyguy. I'm still working on the graphics for the Shyguy. Normal Shyguy is the most complete right now with about half of the graphics done for him. Powered-up Shyguy is purple and has a red headband. His graphics are just started. Wand-wielding Shyguy is black with the red headband and his graphics are the same as powered-up Shyguy so their at the same level. I don't think I'm going to include a cape/flying anything in the game. I guess I'll do a demo after I complete the first world. I dunno where that's going to be since I'm using ExGFX finally and I can't just throw down piece from the Standard objects list. Gotta build piece by piece... ____________________ |
