Not sure how underrated this is, but I certainly have not heard any discussions about it greatness.. Okami for PS2. Its a s good as any Zelda game (including OOT) and with an incredibly unique and awesome graphic style.

I also think Perfect Dark (N64) never got a fair trial. Everyone and their mom's always cite Goldeneye as the King of all 90's console shooters. Perfect Dark improves on every single facet of Goldeneye, crams everything including the kitchen sink into that fat cartridge and then gets brushed aside as Goldeneye marches forward towards the game Hall of fame.

On a unrelated note, I absolutely LOVE this new big clear font. I can now read!

I have already posted this elsewhere, might as well praise the game s'more...
Guitar Hero is what brought me back to console gaming.

For a damn good while I never touched my Gamecube or Xbox. IT was PC or bust for like almost a year. Then boom, like a freaking ray of mother fucking light. I saw some guy playing GH at Best Buy. He actually looked be having FUN of all things..

He left, I picked up the little plastic guitar. Immediate felt embarrassed, played 1 song on medium...INSTATLY become utterly and hopelessly addicted.

Picked up a PS2 and GH1 about a week later and never looked back. I actually didn't turn on my PC for like 5 days...a record which shall never be broken.

I reserved GH2, got it on release day and shredded through it like I was on crack. I don't know anyone who plays it more than me, although I do know of 2 people that are better than me. I met them in a GH competition naturally.

I can 5 star any song on Expert except Psychobilly freak out and Jordan. Jordan is definitely the hardest song in the game. But I rarely try to five star it cuze i just don't like it. (Stupidly uninteligable, un-listenable solos)

And unless, any sort of announcements are made soon regarding other Guitar Hero games, I plan on getting a 360 just for the GH2. Yes, I know its not very smart to get the same game twice, but I like me my toy guitar.

Just wanted to say thanks for the fonts. Hurray for you! I can now read the forum while leaning back on my chair. Good times.

But now I am gonna get used to it and want all forums to function this way.
Damn you!

May I ask what the standard/best setup is for Netplay on ZSNES. What version and settings? I click on Netplay, but nothing happens. Its greyed out even.

I'd love to play anything with anyone.

I don't know how many of you saw my other thread (ChaosSpace 1) I made the thread a few days before the forum fallout.

If you did, then you might appreciate this thread more. Chaos Space 2 is my second Gamemaker game, and a sequel to ChaosSpace.

And it is a whole lot better than its predecessor if I do say so myself. This game has so much more stuff going on.

Anyways, you are a spaceship and you have to get to the blue portal in each level to advance. There are moving walls, destroyable walls, walls that shoot back, Enemy Ships that shoot back and have shields that repel your shots, there are 2 weapons to equip, there are bonus level(s), and probably some more stuff.

I am calling this Beta, because well, its not done. But it has 15 of the 20 levels. The 1 bonus level is included only to make the Level Select Menu look nicer, but the actual level is empty. I just want to get this out there to see if anyone finds something that I am doing utterly wrong.

I hope you guys like my game and I appreciate any thoughts you guys may have about it.

Ok I visited the ZSNES forums real quick. Apparently this is the relevant thread

I downloaded 1.42n

I am hoping that is good. Or should i get 1.36 since that was apparently the last "official" version with NetPlay. What version do you use XKeeper? Or how bout you Kirby Mario?

I will play whatever ya want Kirby Mario, if its up to me, how bout some Contra 3?

Every single screenshot is drool-worthy S.N.N. The levels look pretty tough, but it will at least be a nice change of pace from playing hard SMW hacks.

I eagerly await any playable code.

Nice to see multiple YI hack threads on the same screen. If we can keep the YI hack to SMW hack ratio 1 : 1, then there is chance for peace in the middle east.

As for your hack, I must say very good job 13th Prodigy. To tell the truth I was not expecting such good level design. I had a blast playing through your demo. Sure there are a couple rough edges, just like fabio said. And the change of scenery is kinda jarring, but does not take away from the fun.

I love how you used the fire melon to great effect. I had no clue you could shoot up! lol The Chain Chomp guy in ZOMG was good times too. I think the difficulty was spot on. Only occasionally were there some tricky jumps, and some enemy placements were a little unfair, but overall it was Challenging, not frustrating.

Keep it up man.

I'm game, Hiryuu.

Even though I have played all of 15 minutes total with this game, I might as well lose my Netplay virginity.

I hope this Netplay tourney becomes a regular-ish thing from now on.

I hope I didn't just jinx it now..

Did anybody say it was like playing a real guitar?

This is one of my pet peeves actually, people who have a go at Guitar Hero because it's nothing like playing a real guitar. DUH. It's a game.

...

AMEN to that. It infuriates me as a GH player, and as a gamer that so many people dismiss GH so callously because, "That's not how you play a real guitar."

No one plays GH to learn to play guitar. No one plays GH because they think it feels like a real guitar. No one who plays GH has any aspirations of becoming a real-world guitar master.

They play it because its different, high-quality, rewarding and fun, and aren't afraid to show it.

Learning/Playing a real guitar can be just as entertaining and fun, but these two things are completely different beasts.

Now that is one thorough game review Netsplit. I only hope you give me a half as descriptive review when I release my hacks.

Anyways, first off I would like to thank Googie for informing me of this damn cool game. I would have never played Battle City if not for this hack. It is a very well made little tank defense action game, very fun.

I played the original then played Googie City. And for he most part, I pretty much agree with NetSplit. I wouldn't necessarily call the first 18 levels very easy. I certainly lost my share of times. But levels 19 + do seem to get significantly harder and pretty frustrating too.

In some of these hard levels, since you don't spawn on your base, you have to make a bee line straight to your base as soon as you spawn, because the enemies will take it in seconds if you don't act super fast.

Still, this is good work and I love how you hack these not-so-popular games. It's refreshing. Keep it up.

Hehe, weird, I traded that game in too couple months ago along with all my other N64 stuff. Was it rare? I never figured it was.
I have a couple SNES games, are they rare?

F-Zero, Pilotwings, Super Return of the Jedi, Battletoads in BattleManiacs, Demons Crest, DKC 1. I also have Dragon Warrior 1, 2, 3 for NES.

WoW. That dire dire docks version sounds so perfect I'm almost skeptical that you actually got it in the game.

As for your star handling question. No doubt, whatever method you choose, it will be freaking awesome. But I personally would probably do it in the overworld. Like Higsby said, the star doors in SM64 were in the castle hub, not within the levels. I think it would just seem "cleaner" if the unlock doors/blocks were outside in the overworld.

One other thing. Now, I don't know how many levels, or worlds or type of level design you plan on making. But If you plan to make "giant" levels with up to 8 stars, things might get unwieldy.

The problem with really big levels is that it is very easy to die and have to start over from the beginning of said huge level. Unless you integrated a check point/warp system in each level, its going to suck having to traverse a huge level trying to get that last hidden star, then touch a pike or gooomba and have to start over.

SM64 got away with it(and all other 3D platformers) because of the health system. Mario could take like 8 hits, plus regain health with coins, so dieing from health loss was never a problem.

Unfortunately in SMB3 if your small 1 hit = dead Big Mario 2 hits (Unless of course you implemented a health system, now THAT would be out of this world cool)

Of course people could use save states, and if that is what you plan on, then never mind. But I personally don't like designing levels with save states in mind.

Regardless, I'm sure this will turn out fantastic and will right up there with Mario Vs Luigi and Bio World.

Damn, Interdpth. You really have gone above and beyond. I remember when you first started this editor(it wasn't that long ago)

I was testing out your initial releases and was thinking to myself, "Its going to take him years to sort out all this shite."

Pshh, you knocked this editor out of the park at light speed. This is going to be the premiere game editor for a damn good while and will more than hold its own among its older brothers, Metedit and Smile.

Extraordinary job Interdpth.

Absolutely gorgeous screens. And Im sure the music is top tier too. I remember on old sample nsf you(or optomon) uploaded sounded kick ass.

I'm not looking to be a beta tester(Although I certainly wouldn't mind), but you mentioned having to be extremely good at Castlevania. Is that mainly for bug/play testing or because the game is really hard? I really hope this hack is accessible to non-experienced vampire-slayers.

Loco Roco

How is this game? I wanted to buy a PSP for it. Is it any good?

Loco Roco is a pretty neat little puzzly/platformer game. Think Super Monkey Ball but in 2d and you can split yourself up into smaller versions.

You tilt the level right and left with the L and R buttons to roll your Loco ROco, and press em both to jump.

Its pretty simplistic and most seasoned gamers will probably breeze thru the whole game in a couple hours, I did. Some replay value if you are a completest.

Its telling that this is one of the better non-port games available on the PSP. There really should be alot of better games than this available, but there just isn't.

As for "Being excited for an FFA remake."

I am all for high-quality remakes and don't mind playing em at all. But when a system basically lives of them, something's wrong.

Well I like this game. I mostly love features that are pretty much universal to all MMO's. I like the social aspect of the whole thing,. Teamwork and trading and laughs and cries.

I almost exclusively play with people I know in real life, so that is probably why I find it so enjoyable. But whatever, I'm not gonna try to sell this game to anyone. Just wanted to say that i just recently started playing again.

My servers are PvE Zangarmarsh and PvE Undemine if anyone wants to join me.
I have both Horde and Alliance chars, high and low levels, so I'm game for anything.

They seriously need more video game mascots from other companies. Having Snake from Konami just feels out of place.

Hudson - Master Higgins, Bomberman
NEC - Bonk (PC-Genjin)
Namco - Dig Dug (Taizo Hori), Pac-Man
Taito - Bub and Bob
Capcom - Captain Commando, Megaman
Sega - Alex Kidd, Opa-Opa, Sonic
Konami (in addition of Snake) - Goemon
...

Do you have any idea what a complete mess it would be to get the rights to use these characters all in one game. To tell you the truth, I am STILL astounded that they got Solid Snake in there.

Posted by DarkThunder
How about a Mii as the new Mr. Game and Watch?

Think- Unlock him at the end, and you can choose any of the Miis you have to play as. The only problem is movesets...

I think this a fantastic idea. It would be infinitely customizable and I think the moveset could be based on him using a wiimote. He could swing it like a sword, or like hes bowling for regular "A" button attacks. For special attacks, the Mii could point his wiimote at his enemies and maybe "select" them and move em around "Telekinesis style/ Elebits style"

Maybe he would use the nunchaku attachment like a lasso.

When even Googie says its a challenge, you know you got yourself something frust..I mean special.

But to tell you the truth, I have never liked the original Zelda 2 at all. I have never even gotten to the first dungeon. But your hack is actually motivating me to play this more. Weird...

I guess that means you did a good job Ice Penguin.
