Well, all you have to do is to double-click the .IPS file and choose Lunar IPS as the program to open it up with, if you haven't already done so. Well, your Worlds' plans look great! You don't even have to start on either side of a map either!

There will be no way (that I know of) that you can enter a level from World 9. It's an ASM thing in which World 9 only allows World Map loading. If you or someone you know has those technical abilities, then good luck! If not, then it has to be put off.

Superjustinbros, always try and find .IPS patches. use this IPS patch:

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=3703

The creator of this hack and a bunch of others is located somewhere, but since it's been nearly a year since I discovered them, I can't remember. I will report back to you if I find them.

Okay - apparently, the owner changed websites.

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcynthia.cc%2F

EDIT: Use an extracting program to extract the .LZH file (which I'm unable to do due to limited amounts of time). Also, I uploaded the first hack - not the second.

I took a look at the BAT file, and inside it said:

"SME2.exe smb1.nes patchme.nes"

So afterwards, I duplicated the SMB1 ROM and titled one "smb1.nes" and the other "patchme.nes", then afterwards ran the BAT file. It patched the "patchme.nes" ROM, but it instead made the original SMB1 very glitchy with scrambled graphics.

I'm guessing the reason I'm having a difficult time patching this .ios is because half of Mario Evolution 2's levels are vertical-scrolling levels. This is my hypothesis becuase I downloaded a hack called UN Owen Is Her and it also resulted in a blank screen upon patching the ROM. (I did this on the Mac program Multipatch, not sure about Lunar IPS.)
I just downloaded the compressed file and ran the .BAT file and the .EXE. It worked fine. Then I used Lunar IPS to patch the patchme.nes ROM and started playing. It seems to me that you don't even need to worry about anything anymore. Since you've successfully patched one SMB ROM, then you should have nothing to worry about. I guess the smb1.nes ROM was just a ROM to help expand the hacked ROM or something. Load the patchme.nes ROM in your NES emulator, and delete the smb1.nes ROM, and you're ready to go!

Speaking of the hack, it was a bit unfair in terms of those who don't use save-states (blind jumping? Rapid falling speeds, right on to randomly placed spikes?). But seems like the point of the hack was to use save-states often, starting with stage 5 or 6.

Well I tried running the BAT then EXE files, then patched the .ips to Patchme.nes, removed smb1.nes, and the ROM is still blank after patching.

I feel a little ashamed for asking this, but what do I do, from start to finish, to successfully get this hack working? If not, can I get an easy .IPS that all I have to do is patch a ROM and I'm good to go?
Sorry for being a bit misleading, as I only recalled the process from memory. I read the readme and it actually says:

(0)_Readme.txt
@@@...‚±‚̃tƒ@ƒCƒ‹‚Å‚·B•K‚¸Å‰‚É“Ç‚ñ‚Å‚‚¾‚³‚¢B
(1)_SME2.bat
@@...ROMŠg’£—pƒc[ƒ‹‚Ì‹N“®—pƒtƒ@ƒCƒ‹‚Å‚·B
(2)_smevolution2_100fe.ips
@@...IPSƒtƒ@ƒCƒ‹‚Å‚·B‚Ü‚¾“–‚Ä‚È‚¢‚Å‚‚¾‚³‚¢B
SME2.EXE

So it looks like you should run the .BAT file first, patch the patchme ROM, then run the .EXE file. I copied over the original contents of the compressed files into some folders so I could test this. I tried only running the .BAT file and patching the patchme ROM, and the hack looked fine. The smb1 ROM will only have some barely messed-up pipe and mushroom platform graphics, and the patchme ROM would have the hack running smoothly. However, in a different test folder, I only patched the .IPS file to the patchme ROM, and nothing happened.

I didn't mean my last post to come off negatively. If something's still going on, use the .IPS patch that I just uploaded.

http://pspslimhacks.com/psp2-announcement-playstation-meeting-2011/

I was actually about to post this some days ago. So yeah, the PSP2/NGP (Next Generation Portable) sure does look interesting! The meeting about this was on January 26. Usually, the PSP2/NGP is the competitor to the 3DS. Hopefully there will be some YouTube streaming or something, and a better browser, for Pete's sake. Maybe some developers will create a good homebrew that's better than the default. Also, it has been said that the PSP2 missed E3 2010 due to some delays.

Even the by-itself .ips doesn't work. Do I need to use an emulator other than NEStopia on Windows or Mac?
Actually... I just opened the ROM in Nestopia, and it didn't load! I had been using NesterJ until just now... trying it in FCEUX 2 and FCEUX 2.1.2 still end up with similar results. One thing I remember with NesterJ is that it would load the proper levels of a SMB hack (or ROM, for that matter) that was patched with one of those "bad" SMB ROMs, while other emulators would load the one underwater castle. I don't know... maybe the process needs to be run using bad SMB ROMs? The creator use a bad SMB ROM, perhaps? Maybe it's one of those queer things that can never be explained...

These things are quite annoying. We got one of these when we were watching the Super Bowl! Luckily for us viewers, they showed it after the Packers intercepted the ball and not during the interception.

Isn't that annoying?

I've joined in all the Call of Duty: Black Ops fun. I'm mostly a platformer player, although I'll take a swing or two at RPG or strategy games. I enjoy crosswords, word searches, Sudoku, and other word games.

A few of my friends do not have balance any between Black Ops and studying/homework. Make sure you set your priorities!

Are you using the PSN? What is your PSP's firmware/system software?(This information can be found near the bottom at Settings -> System Information.) It's not Version 6.37, right?

Don't quote and post an entire long and informative post like you just did. The entire post wasn't replied on, so it's not really needed. In fact, pretty much all of it is unnecessary in your post. If needed, put in the quote and use the Preview button, and delete it when you're ready to post. The least thing would be to remove parts of the quote. Having it all will just make things more difficult to read through.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: After watching some good SMB3 hacks and playing them, I thought about my own hack and I'm redoing it. This time, level and map design wil be refined, making sure there is no cutoff and other flaws in level and map design. I'll also be making two versions. The first version dubbed "Revenge of King Koopa Ltd" has levels restricted to the original offsets while the "Unlimited" version will have custom offsets (if someone creates and IPS patch that "clears out" the original object and enemy data sets).

I think that was a good decision to make. If you're constantly using save-states, especially in your first levels, then it won't be fair to others and people could lose interest. Those "good hacks" that you watched were fair to the players; they allowed the players to feel the flow of their levels so that they could adjust when the levels got difficult. I'm glad you're sticking to one hack only because Mario's first level looks all too similar to the screenshots of Luigi's levels.

Hopefully you've understood all the errors pointed out. It looks like it's a good idea to do without clearing everything because the information about Hammer Bros., Coin Ships, White Toad Houses, and other things isn't out there yet. If you happened to watch one of those things appear, then the game may crash upon entering because these particular sprites probably aren't set to point to the new level offsets (correct me if I'm wrong).

Like Quick Curly said, clear everything from the level you're ready to edit - 3-byte objects, 4-byte objects, and enemies. The same thing goes when editing a World Map: choose a reasonable tile and fill the map with it. Put Black Squares (#02) on the extreme left and right sides of your map (that's usually how it should be). Use the smb3strt patch included for more uniqueness. And read through my website again so that you get things right that you didn't get in your recent hack.

To avoid exceeding level and enemy data, simply download Quick Curly's documentation that lists the total number of objects and enemies in each level, as well as the object and enemy data offsets so that you can change the levels that pointers in your current levels point to. Look at an original SMB3 ROM in SMB3 Workshop to see the total number of bytes the objects are taking up by making sure nothing is selected and looking at the bottom-right corner of the program. Nothing is wrong with having less objects and enemies.

I'll provide a bit of information that's not already covered so that you can prevent some things from happening in your next hack.

1-1 Bonus
Simply extend the level of the 1-1 bonus area and extend the Hilly Wall to avoid the misaligning upon exiting the pipe in the bonus room.

Mini-Fortress
You had 144 bytes in your fortress, while the original had 195, but you had two extra enemies; your bonus area had 33 bytes and no enemies, and there were 69 bytes in the original, so I really don't know where you're getting the thought that you can't add many more objects. In fact, you added some extra blocks in your bonus area that weren't needed. The two bottom rows of X-Blocks weren't needed, as you could have just extended the X-Blocks that you created near the vertical halfway-point of the level. Then these blocks could have been stretched to cover the level so that you could put the black background to cover them instead of having those X-Blocks around the door. The door also covers anything else.

Airship
From the level, it looks like you only experimented with one or two Airship pieces before releasing your hack. The autoscrolling enemy is different at every vertical position. Many objects like Screwed Platforms, Pipes, and Wooden Pillars repeat often if the length isn't extended (e.x. A0 = Downward Pipe that isn't extended. A huge vertical pipe will exist every screen or so. ). You had an Airship Pillar under the second Bomb-Omb cannon that had a height of 1 and wasn't extended. Thus, a vertical strip of wood appeared a screen later and blocked further access so that a death was necessary.

Even if you're horrible at drawing (like me at one point), just create a quick sketch of a level. I still have a few levels I drew years ago, and even though my drawing wasn't good, I could still incorporate them into my SMB3 hack. You don't have to base everything off of photographic memory. Best of luck! Keep posting the hack's progress!

News about gas prices don't bother me. I just use less trips to get done what needs to get done. Some people go to Walmart 6 times in two days and sometimes even in one day just to buy some Sour Patch Kids crap. They just don't get it.
Agreed, but they do bother me. Walmart's gas price was around $3.58 two weeks ago. Yesterday, it was $3.41, and today it was $3.53!

That's not even the reason they're going up. It's those oil companies; the oil isn't going anywhere new. The oil companies are just finding a reason to raise the price. Even when the oil price when down, the gas went up!

Well, I finally got the ball rolling and I finally have a decent SMB3 hack under way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfVmlhNJNMM

I just can't seem to get the video to post properly here.

Pasting a video's embed code should work. Click "Share" next to the rating buttons, click the embed button below that, and scroll down for some embedding options and the size of the video area. The embedding code should already be highlighted, so just copy that and paste it into your post! If you've already tried this, try using the old embed option to see if it works.

When you say in your description that your levels will be nothing like the original designs are you talking about the levels after the first (the one showcased)?

Pastor Camping will never know when Jesus is coming. Never. Making calculations based on time won't tell you the time of His coming, because no man will ever know an exact date of the rapture. Ever. The angels in heaven don't even know; even Jesus himself doesn't know the time of his coming! Only God knows. Matthew 24:36 states this, and the rest of this chapter gives you more information on this particular subject. However, it informs you of the signs that will take place.

That pastor is simply proving to be a false prophet, and he's plainly interested in money. Micah 3:11 warns us of these false prophets and their motivation to do so; so does Jeremiah 6:13-15, Deuteronomy 18:20-22, Isaiah 30:9-14, and many other references. The pastor is going against what Jesus said. This makes us wonder if the pastor is a true believer in anything that Jesus said. Pastor Camping should have been left alone from the start, given that he even tried to proclaim the same event multiple times in the years past!

How exactly did the "total brony" category make it past quality control?

Oh wait. We never had quality control.

I was sort of against it. I think we should have opened up the discussion before the voting and let some of the users come up with more categories. We need things that are more generic and more fitting towards everyone. "Brony" just appeals to those who know of that new My Little Pony show or whatever and happen to like it. I'm indifferent, and although the show may be considered "popular" or "likable", I'm sure many others are too.

Agreed, in case if everyone is wondering why there is only one new category every season. But can this still be done to this present event?

PlayStation Vita logo - PS Vita for short
The Xross Media Bar, used in past PlayStation units, has now been replaced by <i>Live Area</i>.

PlayStation Vita rear view

Sony PlayStation Vita - Official PS Vita site

360° view of the new PlayStation Vita

Posted by Sony
PlayStation®Vita transforms the way you experience your favorites titles. Through technologies like the front multitouch screen and the rear multitouch pad, motion-sensors, and augmented reality, PS Vita brings the biggest and best games to life in a whole new way. Coupled with the rich graphics and new social gaming features play your favorite adventures with an all-new spin.

The latest product design coupled with quintessential PlayStation® features all come together in this flash forward device. Built around a brilliant 5-inch display, every curve was designed for the best grip in mobile gaming. And the unit is ultra-slim and easy-to-carry for a deep & rich level of gaming.

The PSP's successor, the PlayStation Vita (formerly codenamed NGP) is going to give the holidays a bang with dual analog sticks, a 5-inch OLED touch-screen, a rear touch pad, a front camera and a rear camera, and most of the same buttons the PSP used - the directional buttons, the L and R shoulder buttons, the four action buttons, the PS logo button the power button, and the SELECT and START buttons. The volume controls will be somewhere else. This new console will also feature an ARM Cortex-A9 core, which is a four core processor.

One thing that Sony has kept quiet about was the battery specs - how long would this battery last? As you experience an augmented reality, will the battery have as much life as your visual experience? But we do know that the battery can't be removed, which means two things. The battery doesn't fall out when the system is dropped, and the door isn't eventually going to break. The downside is that the infamous Pandora Battery can't be used if some IPL and pre-IPL exploits are eventually discovered, unless the console can be opened to obtain the battery.

Sony has decided to use a new game medium for the PS Vita. Games that are purchased are received on a flash memory card. Downloaded game content, save-data, and the game will be stored. A separate slot on the PS Vita will house additional memory, but the format is still in the dark.

Prices are $249 for the regular model, and $299 for the 3G model. If you'd like to purchase the 3G model, they'll be available at an AT&T store. AT&T will only provide the 3G internet coverage, but you can't use it as a phone. However, it should probably have Skype installed like the PSP Slim models. Sony promises an international release around the holiday season late this year and around the start of 2012!

Think that this amazing console's name is a bad one? Some people think so.

The last time I can remember being inside a cave was six years ago. The owners lit certain passages and large areas of the interior cave walls so that the limestone seemed to give off a glowing effect. Another cave I can remember entering was a small cave that we weren't even allowed to really walk into. We saw a forked stream, but this cave could only hold about twenty-six people. That was the only cave I can remember visiting, despite one being within approximately a miles' radius of my home.

It's alright to light the candles on your cake now; the fire department is on standby.
