My wish was it to give my robot masters a more realistic look to give them a 3/4 angle. The style is a mix of Classic and Xtreme with a bit custom, to the degree that I utilize the most out of 5 colours, which includes shading. ____________________ I was a prisoner enclosed in the void, were everything might end up just as myself. 5+2 colours actually, since it uses a second sprite for more colours.. The NES can handle 24+8 at the screen in one time. 12 for sprites and 12 for the background objects.
To your question. Rockman also uses the same amount of colours (5+2). Just count his colours. Robot Masters have usually a palette of 5+2 colours, but there are some exceptions like Pharao Man(6+2) and Splash Woman (7+3!). ____________________ I was a prisoner enclosed in the void, were everything might end up just as myself. Thanks Nick, but I'm now surprised that alone the height x width and the aditional shading causes the usage of more sprite layers, than I have thought.
I will take your advice into the heart, whenever I shall sprite. So if I understand right, one sprite has the place for seven 8x8 fields. As for the limitations for sprites, I will ask the elite hackers of megaman games for more information. 14 8x8 tiles for robot masters should for me be the limit for now. As an artist, you are telling me the wrong information. What I need are the information how your sprites should look like (drawings are very helpful). As well I need to know how many 8x8 pixel tiles in heigh and width are allowed for your sprites, which you want to use in your game. Also what colors should be used.
