Ive always wodnered if it was possible to make it so that Geno was walking around by changing mario's sprite into him, and then settign geno as the default party member.

Is it possible to do that? Or is mario hardcoded?

It's unlikely that you're looking at a one-byte hack.

If you were to swap the graphics manually and change the palettes, moves, learned moves, etc... it would likely be possible.

It was mroe of a question of is Mario Hardcoded in the battle system.

Sorry. ;

I seem to get stuck at the forest boss, the blue one, and can't move after battle, is that being looked at too?

My advice:

When the patch for the Bombombmoafia is avavaible again, look at how they did things here.

DON'T RELEASE YOUR FIRST WORK. It might look good to you, but it is really not that good. Start over again and keep trying.

Don't be lazy, fix that bug and don't hope that no one notices.

Remeber that the game shares resources, don't hax that palette until you know hwere it is used

Also, make sure to report any bugs the editor gives you to the creators so that they can improve the editor.

A easy way to jump right to the script viewer for events and NPC's? A button right beside their script number would make getting their scripts on screen a lot quicker.

The same could be done for a few other areas, like a quick jump to the text editor, or somesuch.

Little shortcuts like that could really speed things up.

(Also, is there still plans for a template system for areas? I'm sure if you dumped a standard format for them to be wrote in that people would help you guys make stamps for areas, like a house or path stamp.)

Just me rambling on, thanks again,

Great addition PressAdob, the shared resources thing is important. A great idea for a feature for the next version. A way to determine what resources are used where.

As for bugs, im debating whether or not to start a thread, or just have people PM me about it. Any input?

Start a thread.

How do I make mallow the only active party member? I mean, I can see how to add party members, but there is no remove code.

Peach does get removed during the game though, why is it not a command?

Or is it something hardcoded? :/

Follow Map exit.

Middle click to set tile into the selected tile.

I'll think of more later.

Edit:

A easy solid level picker? I mean, a list of height = x or slope directon would make things easier to use.

I could of missed the obvious though.

edit2: Just in case I missed it, I mean the easy solid picker as a quick and dirty way to get a few general tiles.

Also, the middle click to select tile would be nice in the solid editor too!

edit 3!:
When exporting things, can the picker start off the default directory?

edit 4:
Sorry about this, just one last thing I noticed: The help file is unfinshed, and missing some information on scripts and sprites and other areas.

who is moving on the overword, so yeah, you can move around as any character. However it is really buggy and events will cause things to lock up.
To do it, hijack an event and add

ADD PARTY MEMBER (do not check the +1 thing) MARIO
Add party member (Do check the +1 thing) PEACH/MALLOW/GENO/BOWSER here.

It's just interesting to see.

How do you keep using the same adress ro set flags for the signs and the NPC who gives you a cookie without it conflicting?

7040 gets set to 4 by the signs and 5 by the man, but it still works, the man will still never give you a cookie after you get it.

I thought things only worked with limited value for one ram adress?

look harder - it's a set bit command, not set memory. a single byte can hold 8 bits, so that means you can use the same byt eight times for different variables.

Ah, now I see.

Useful.

The animation editor bugs out with

ERROR WRITING BYTE: 0 to BYTE[] DATA at offset 119
Data size 119
Please Report this

I can reproduce it, it happens on sprite 185 when you clear out all the extra empty molds, then when you get down to one blank one, try and insert a tile in it.

Bamp goes the error.

Import is -Broken-

Every time I import something the data that I import goes all wonky.

See sprite animanation editor again.

Edit: It seems to have just broke a savestate oddly...

However the battle did crash when I tried to run it, so Meh :/
