Ooh, I was just wondering- Have you been able to enable the Item Toggle ability yet? I recently found out that its code is still left in Metroid: Zero Mission, and that it CAN be enabled- But only with a Codebreaker code. Here's that code, if anyone's wondering:

Code 1: 730016C4 0080
Code 2: 83000BF0 0006

Both of these are seperate codes. With both enabled, you can toggle items, but... Only certain ones. Namely, only the beams and the Misc. Items. You can't even toggle the Unknown Items until you get the Fully-Powered Suit. And no, you can't toggle Gravity Suit. Though, on a related video to that last Crocomire vid posted here, I noticed someone had all three REVEALED unknown items turned off (Even Gravity Suit), and toggled it ON. The whole "you can only toggle certain items" thing may simply be a limitation of this code, and it was probably intended to let you toggle ANY item! ...Also, even though you can't toggle the two Bombs on and off, toggling the Morph Ball off turns them off, too. Missiles? Nope, can't turn those off. But hey, this code could help get us closer to truly enabling this feature, right? As in, without using cheat codes.

I only have Mario Kart 64, because I miss it, TLoZ, for original nostalgia, and NES Wario's Woods, to see what it's like. ...I'm bored with them all. I want TLoZ: Majora's Mask out already. Now, if I had any Wii Points, I'd get Galaga, because the Arcade version is too hard for me to resist playing. Seriously.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted new pics... Only two new ones this time, unfortuately.... And no, I still haven't gotten around to replacing Mario's graphics with Luigi GFX... That might come at the end of it all. Hey, the levels matter to me more than replacing all the Mario GFX with Luigi GFX. So, without further ado, the new pics... OF A NEW WORLD.

If you don't recognize this, you haven't played Super Paper Mario... Or maybe you haven't reached Chapter 8 in it yet.

Recognize it now? It's Castle Bleck!

Yes, Castle Bleck. The same castle from Super Paper Mario that had that odd, monochrome look, save for the background of The Void in it... (Funny. If The Void is supposed to destroy all worlds, how come Castle Bleck was able to survive INSIDE IT?) But I don't think I'll place THIS Castle Bleck in The Void... No, I think I'll make it magically appear in the sky after clearing World 6. Or maybe this will just be another Castle level you have to get though. (I highly doubt I'd do that.) Heh. I knew it was inevitable- I'm hooked on SPM, and now my hack is reflecting that. XD And you'll NEVER guess who's gonna make a surprise appearance as the boss of this World! :o Welcome to World 7, folks. World 7: Castle Bleck, has begun. But what of World 6? Hmmm.... The Sky. We all love clouds, right? So, we've now got all our Worlds, right?

World 1: Silver Pipeline
World 2: Peppermint Fields/Frost Ridge
World 3: Pendulum Desert
World 4: The Ocean/Ocean Ruins (No longer Atlantis, since.... well... Two words: Bad GFX.)
World 5: Monkey Jungle
World 6: Fluffy Cloud/The Sky
World 7: Castle Bleck
World 8: Center of the Earth (Yes, this is Bowser's submap.)
World 9: Rainbow Road

Aaand there we have it. The plans are nearly complete, so all I have to do is come up with a better 3rd piece of Silver Pipeline 2, and this hack will be moving along nicely.... And I'm ditching the Atlantis idea for now... I'm terrible with Custom GFX, so.... That's a no-go.... Instead, the main basis of World 4 will be traveling the Ocean and going through some big ruins. This is where the Silver Coins will make their debut, unless, of course, you find a certain secret level first... ;P

Enjoy, and yes, I will enjoy doing Castle Bleck. Oh, by the way, a few of my friends I talk to in another IRC server than the one #rohmacking is are Mr. L fanboys. Seriously, they like him. (I still think Dimentio's the best character in SPM, though.) So I figured, why not make a hack starring Mr. L? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it's a good idea?

Would it be too hard to make Blocks that work like SWR's Mario/Luigi Blocks, but change the player's tiles, too? I'd love to be able to use those blocks in my hack, yet Mario's palette simply changes when the blocks are hit. This'd cause problems in my hack, where Mario will be replaced with Luigi, AND I'm using the SMAS-SMB3 character GFX....

Oh yes, now here's an ASM hack idea- Would one be able to make an ASM hack that basically does the above? Y'know, switches characters and switches the tiles they use? It'd be nice for like where you have a dialogue, and one of the characters decides to fight the boss on their own, so if you're not currently using that character, you'll switch to them. (I just had that idea. Also, wanna hear a weirder idea I had? A hack starring... MIMI.)

I'm in Farore's Isle, and, on the 1st floor, I find a room with a Crystal Switch, a little rug/mat between two torches, and 2 unlit torches. If I light both, nothing happens! What am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to be using the Book of Mudora here after hitting the Switch?

Look for more torches than just those two. There are more to lit!

Yes, I know. There's one in the rom northeast of it, one in the room just to the right of it. Problem is... Every time I light a torch, leave the screen, and come back, it's out again. :/ I had a feeling THEY would be what I was looking for, but... Now I'm not so sure they are.... Maybe I'm just not fast enough. Thanks, though.

Edit: Ah, that worked! Thanks! But.... How in the heck am I supposed to beat Helmasaur King WITHOUT THE BOW AND ARROWS?!

Edit: Nevermind! I got it now!

Now, here's the big question: If this guy stole the game from you, how is it you have the ROM, hmmm? How can you have the ROM if this guy you asked to dump it kept it and sent you a different game? That's what we all would like to know now, huh? How the heck you can have the ROM if the person you gave the cart to never gave you the game back.

:/ Well, you have a point. Except for the fact that I'm stupid. I'm not stupid.

I'd play the Championship thing, but.... I'm not sure how well I'd do..... Maybe I'll play.

Hey, by the way, have you heard? Earlier, someone was offering some Ultimate Palkias and an Ultimate Dialga for free.... I got Ultimate Dialga... And by the way, they all came with Azure Flutes, the American Heaven's Pipe. But, uh.... One of my friends tried it out... It doesn't work, he says.... I have no clue how to make it work. Any ideas? Must you get all other Pokemon in the game in order to get Arceus, the very last Pokemon? Or do you have to go to the event you get the item from normally so some sort of script is loaded or something? We really want to get Arceus..... But with this roadblock, we're stumped....

Oh yes, and as for my team... I won't give away levels, but it normally consists of these:

Staravia, Floatzel, Graveler, Luxio, Grotle, and one other Pokemon I wish to train, or an Egg I want to hatch. My Pokemon keep getting overwhelmed by the levels of Gym Leaders' Pokemon, but for some reason, they easily held their own against Wake and Fantina... Fantina especially surprised me. I finished her off quickly. O_o Despite her Pokemon being like, 5+ levels higher than mine. D:

Here's the way it goes:

It's seriously called "Ultimate Dialga". It's not just "Ultimate" in that it's got maxed-out stats and everything, but it's also CALLED that in name: U. Dialga. Fortunately for me, it counts as Dialga in my Pokedex. And here's the thing: The person I got it from says he got it from someone in Japan. Since it was holding a Key Item, though, it's pretty obvious it'd been hacked in somehow. But hey, thanks for clearing up the confusion for me! I figured it'd be that we'd have to go to the event, but I'd hoped that we simply needed all other Pokemon first....

Okay, I'll admit, this sounds like SUCH a noobish question, but I really need to know...

Has any data for Mario vs. Donkey Kong been previously found? I'd love to make an editor for the game, but I'm quite sure I'll need data on the game. I'm not afraid to try to find out some data myself, but I'd still like to know if any data has already been found in the game, just in case... If there has, may I please see it?

Thanks in advance. And sorry if this IS a noobish question.... I'm SO obsessed with this game....

Well, I'm sure I could make an editor for THAT... Any data from it I could use?

...Heck, maybe I could find a way to be able to edit BOTH.... I mean... I like both games very much... (Here's how I see it: DK '94: Better gameplay. MvsDK: Better music. XD)

Thanks, though.

First off, I remember seeing screens of this hack on the last incarnation of the board. Nice to see you're still working on this.

The screens look nice. Some seem empty or boring, but that's probably because of WHERE you took them. A few things-

1: The Ghost Field background.... A minor palette problem on the little ovals in the hills. They're supposed to be a lighter color than the hills themselves. ;P
2: Why not use SpriteTool for some enemies? It'll let you use Shy Guys without sacrificing other enemies, like Goombas or Koopas, and you can even use Spear Guys with the latest release. I HIGHLY recommend you check it out...

Eh, can't think of anything else to comment on right now. I'll check out the hack itself a little later. But right now, good luck on it.

This is probably one of the craziest ideas I've ever had, but...

I'd like a Block that hacks the Save Routine so when you hit the block, it saves your game at the exact location you're at, your powerup status, your Item Box status, coin count, and other stuff that normally gets reset to normal when you reload a saved game, and has the game return you to IN A LEVEL at the exact location you hit the Block when you reload your save file. Basically, a Paper Mario Save Block. If all that is too much, then just a Block that opens the Save Routine in a level (so when you hit it, it saves your Overworld position for the next time you open the save file) would be fine. I'd like to have the player save by hitting Save Blocks in my hack, instead of just clearing certain levels.... (The whole saving status and stuff thing is just to make it more like PM Save Blocks. XD)

Thanks in advance. Oh, and I had a request for another block, and I could've SWORN I posted it in this thread, but just in case I accidentally posted it in a different thread (or if it didn't get through at all):

I need some ASM to remap the sprite used for the "bounce" animation of the Turn Block. The SMB3 Brick Blocks use the Turn Block Bounce sprite, so if I'm to use both in one level, I'd have to... y'know. Remap the tiles of one or the other. Also, I'd appreciate it if someone would look at the code used in SMB3.BIN hosted at SMWC to see where in the heck it shows what block the SMB3 Coin turns into if you hit it from below as Small Mario with the P-Switch activated. Currently, it turns into the Turn Block's Map16 block! That's.... really annoying for me. Thanks in advance. (Ugh. I'm SOOOO getting this hack of mine complicated.... )

Phoenix Yoshi: Bully is a SM64 enemy that bounces Mario around.

Yeah, figured that out on my own after looking at the .asm file. XD I haven't played SM64 in a while, so I kinda forgot that. Had to see "Big Bully" in the ASM file to remember what it was. XD Soo... Patch on showing how it works, plz. I want to see it in action in a 2D environment without putting it in myself.

Uhhhh... When I click that link, it gives me a 404 error.... If I try to right-click and Save As.... It instantly "downloads", and if I try to open the file, it gives me an error, saying the file is in "unknown format or damaged". Any ideas?

Right now, all I'd really like is the ability to take music and insert it in SMW... Perhaps it would automatically convert it to SMW format when you load the music into it, just in case you need to change certain sounds on it? Seriously, that's all I'd really like....for now, anyways...

Phoenix Yoshi: So what speaks against using Bouche's patch and the N-SPC format? It's somewhat better documented than SMW's, even if only marginally, and probably mightier than it (I'm not aware of the scope of the SMW format's abilities to the fullest though ).

That kinda confuses me a bit. Mind rewording it for me?

Edit: Oh wait, now I get it. I didn't fully read everything in the first post... Sorry.

Phoenix Yoshi: You must distinguish between the "SMW format", which I prefer referring to as the "SMW-native format", being the alpha version of N-SPC which is used in Super Mario World and not really anywhere else as far as I know, and the "SMAS format", coined as N-SPC, which is used by the games described in my head post and which is the music data format Solar Soundtrack operates on; it becomes usable in SMW using a patch DJ Bouche made ages ago, which replaces the whole native music engine in SMW with the engine used for SMB1~3 in SMAS. I interpreted your previous post as asking to make SST operate on the SMW-native rather than the SMAS format.

Oh no, not at all! I was simply saying that I wanted to be able to edit SMW's music and have any loaded music converted to the format the ROM currently uses... As... Well, let's just say there's a few pieces of music in SMW I actually LIKE... For instance, SMW Castle... So I'd like to have that in, but also have certain other SMAS musics in, too...

Sorry for any misunderstandings.
