I do agree on that; America itself is a beautiful country. However, being populated by morons makes it nigh unlivable. You got lawsuits for $60 million dollars because of a single missing pair of pants, among more of the most retarded reasons people are getting sued for. It's just... crappy. Freedom and rights seem to exist only to screw you over and don't work for you at all unless you're in a large corporation or can afford a good lawyer. Then we got things like this article where people have a New Yorker*-like approach to pain and suffering. Nobody gives a shit about anything anymore unless it acts against them as an inconvenience or if they think they can gain something from it.

On the topic of the article itself, that was just plain horrible. If I was ever in that kid's position though... I have a bit of an anger problem, so chances are I would summon up some energy through adrenaline and whatnot and go beat a doctor up until they do SOMETHING to help. Even if it involves giving me morphine or something. As long as I don't feel the pain.

* New Yorker behavior: Best example I can give is Men In Black II, during the subway sequence. Which is the funniest scene in the history of mankind, and also oh-so-roflmaoing true.

Or what if someone is being held hostage, and calls 911, only to have the kidnapper grab the phone and start making jokes?
