Posted by Higsby To be fair, in the original, you could've skipped 1-3 and 1-4 if you didn't care about Toad's House. Not like optional levels are new to SMB3. |

So I just came across a sparkling new-ish laptop (Averatec 3150P) at a thrift store. $300 plus tax later, it's at home, and I'm trying to get it to connect to the wireless network here. It's running XP Pro, SP2. So, I've got wireless networking all ready to go, right? Well, I hit "Connect" in XP's wireless networking... nothin'. The network isn't secured (and no, I'm NOT telling you where I live so you can leech), so it should just connect. But all it does is sit there and try to connect, only to fail. What should I be doing? |

It already says it's preferred. Not like there's any other options, either. Although sometimes, it doesn't find the network as being available, either. (shrug) I think it had a driver for some USB wireless adapter on it, too. No clue what's going on. |

Posted by emcee Due to a bit of dumbassery on my part (why would a reputable site such as one that dishes up no CD patches ever think of scanning for Trojans?) I finally got on here using said laptop and an actual Ethernet cord, and I'm downloading the drivers as I speak. Developing... UPDATE: Nope. Turns out I uninstalled something, but now it still won't connect. |

If this means Apple's going to pull support for the SLVR, well, in the words of our Founding Fathers, we may see murder yeeeeeeeet! I asked damn hard for that thing so I could listen to music on it too... |

My other computer (which now has a trojan, and I'm trying to fix that) has no trouble connecting to this network. Also, there's no 2.4 GHz cordless phones in the house so that's out. |

np: Rammstein: "Stripped"
As per AMG: "Of course, it doesn't quite answer the question of whether a Depeche Mode tribute album was necessary, but almost all tribute albums are unnecessary." In case you couldn't tell, that was in reference to For the Masses, which came out back in 1998. I'm still trying to make sense of why they'd have the Cure cover "World In My Eyes" seeing as that's like asking the Rolling Stones to cover "Ticket to Ride" or some shit, but it works. Also, who were the ad wizards that plopped friggin' DISHWALLA on here? (They did "Policy of Truth" and sounded embarrassingly close to Depeche Mode.) But there are several good covers on this album, and this album-closer is one of them. I mean, it also proves that Till Lindemann should never, ever sing in Engilsh... AGAIN, but I'll be damned if they don't go out there and make the song their own. Oh, and Failure continues to be an embarrassment on the music industry in general. Thanks for raping "Enjoy the Silence", assholes! (Clarification: They make "Enjoy the Silence" sound like a Failure song... the problem being that Failure's songs aren't very good at all. MAYBE the guitar tones once the obligatory post-chorus "all right, now's when we kick your ass" bit are useful, but... I've got nothing else positive to say about it. But hey, if you can find the album for $1.50, like I did, go get it.) |

Hey, did you know Wikipedia is part of the vast left-wing conspiracy? And so is YouTube, if an email I got at work is to be believed?
There's politics, and then there's being a moonbat. |

Posted by Xkeeper And that's why you need away messages that make sense and explain things. Such as Ichiro making fun of Cleveland, or someone's thoughts on the Founding Fathers kickline in 1776 (your favorite musical comedy based on the battle to get the then-colonies to declare independence). (Editor's note: This means nothing unless y'all have my screen name... which I can't add to my profile.) |

Built-in firewall with XP, and AVG anti-virus and anti-spyware. But you want a QFT? Here's your QFT, and a bit of FTW.
The best anti-virus? Common sense. |
