Yeah - I think it was a few Kafuka goers that were exploiting the uploader. Not sure whom in particular, think it was Gywall and Mega-Mario, who were also pentesting board2 in order to fix holes in Kafuka's code that were left unfixed in their code branch at the time.
Banned users can also, strangely, edit their own thread titles, and for some strange reason can't view the Secret of Mana nor the ROM Hacking Archives forums (but can view everything else). Normal users can also post in the archive forum for some reason. Spoilers are also pretty much broken on mobile - switching to the dropdown variant entirely seems like a good solution. There's also potential XSS when listing posts by a user, and I'm hoping to god that the magic_quotes polyfill isn't still in use nor the code hacks targeting Anglefage - something gives off the vibe here that those hacks have all been left in the code considering it seems to have mostly been left untouched since August 2011 minus some security and PHP fixes from what I can see. The radio should probably also be removed from the header as it's been broken for years now. Anyway, I should probably publicly apologise for the continuous creation of alternative accounts and bringing in foreign drama, which over the years have disrupted and strongly contributed to the decline of board2 in its waning years. My history across this board in particular, one that I have particularly strong feelings towards compared to the other forks, honestly embarrasses me more than anything else for some reason. (While I'm using an old alt, I kind of felt the need to mostly to drive the point across because it may have seemed strange seeing my old account login. Using a time-relevant alt may be of use to publicly confirm my identity, though I already PMed blackhole89 some photographic proof of who I am). It's a shame because I wouldn't mind volunteering some time to delete spam and whatnot as I'm not particularly doing much with my life and I kind of have a strange fondness for this board that never really went away, but I also wouldn't want to steer away anyone due to my reputation elsewhere (in other words, I done a lot of fucked up shit that makes me a totally irredeemable person, things I'd rather not even say publicly, though if someone wants to mention them, go ahead and bring them up because I can't stop you). I want to see board2 back in at least a state of usability, not going down for entire months on end with no answer, and people not feeling afraid to post or such. There's still people that check in every day and one thing I want to say is that it's always a good thing to try to help out as much as possible, and that there's no massive binding - one can simply pop in and out of a board and often find themselves still being a regular, unlike social media which tries to constantly keep you hooked in and makes you feel bad for not being there after five minutes. hugs everyone (also why the fuck are Acmlm, Tyty and Sukasa banned for seemingly no reason? Were their accounts compromised at some point?) |

hate to do this but there's a bunch of exploits in the item shop code
also, everyone's password hashes were apparently compromised back in 2018 and released on one of those warez/cracker paradise forums. that said I couldn't find a copy of it anywhere so no I won't be in your accounts, messing up your stuff... at least there's no more actual spambots registering because register.php got deleted (after I threatened blackhole89 at gunpoint, effectively). I guess that's something. still a bunch of turd accounts lurking around though that aren't dealt with, hence how I was able to post here (the one to this was, amusingly, 'password'), and I'd like my IRL name scrubbed off my old profile too anyway I had nothing to do, it's five in the morning and I'm bored off my mind, that's why I'm being a fucking terrorist on a dead forum yet again. |
