I guess if you want features on the CAD Editor, you gotta pay...

I'm also guessing this is gonna start being a thing, too.

This person is not the only one, Kaze Emanuar is using Patreon to make more SM64 hacks in which Nintendo doesn't allow it because it is a violation of copyright and you know that Nintendo are the nazi's of the company that can take down fan works without warning. Kaze Emanuar's Patreon disappeared but I don't know the reason.

I even have a Patreon but I don't ask people for money to make romhacks/fangames or any other licensed IP's unless I am creating something original.

This reminded me of when Mario Maker came out and bam, lots of YouTube videos relating to SMW Hacking were taken down. Surprised they have never enforced legal action on communities such as these yet.

But, things like this, asking money for intellectual properties that are not your own, should not be allowed.

It really sucks, cause there's games on the editor that can use enemy/item support. I don't wanna pay to get them, and that guy is asking for a lot of money on top of it.

When I saw this a while ago, I was kinda pissed. I see shit like this on social media a lot, and it's disgusting. If you have original content then it's cool.

You can pay or help or wait. Three options, I don't see anything wrong with that, really.

Do you donate once with that site, or is it a monthly thing? After thinking about a bit, I was a bit harsh earlier. If I can donate something what I'd like to have is added enemy support for Little Nemo and Mighty Final Fight.

Monthly, but you may cancel support at any time.

Now I work on rewriting configs to use graphics from ROMs (not prepared pictures) and adding compression/decompression support. There 18 games left (it takes about 2-3 month), then I'll start to improve enemy/object editor system.

I have information about objects system in Mighty Final Fight and Little Nemo (in txt format, users of CadEditor collect it for me, but I not check it yet ), if you need it.

I hope CAD Editor will gain support for Hummer Team's NES games as well.
Because just imagine being able to hack the NES version of Super Mario World!

I think, selling hacks/mods is bad and illegal, but I make not hacks, but level editor, it's my own property. I want to create tool like tiled (http://www.mapeditor.org/), but related to old console games.

And it can be used for making hacks by other romhackers, so they can create hacks with it - but it unrelared with editor itself.

All tools, source code and access still be free for users and romhackers.

Indeed. Sharing knowledge for free is a great gift for the community. Keeping it away from free users is just wrong.

spiiin: Are you planning to upgrade your editor to see the enemies that you're editing? All I see are black boxes. Looking forward to another update.

Do you see black boxes with numbers, as in screenshot?
If so, this is ok, I have no time to prepare sprites with objects for every game, but users can add it themselves, examples provided for games Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Tale Spin. If anyone prepare sprites pack for me, I'll add it to editor.
