And you can edit the offsets set in megafle.dat to fix this, but...

Actually, I can't, because I don't know how.
Also, I really wanted to finish those hacks (at least in terms of level designs), since the original creators wont because of Based Ririka.
Likewise, I also want to finish MegaMan Forever at least in terms of level designs, but sadly, that wont work on MegaFLE X either.

Borderline: If you don't want to finish your game, at least give other people the possibility to finish it for you. That way, it's a win-win situation for everyone!
...well, for everyone except people who hate videogames, of course.

Yes, but if the creators wanted someone to finish their hacks, they wouldn't have removed the games from everywhere, and most likely would've shared some source code or something. They didn't, so...

I know that they didn't, but that doesn't mean that this is correct behaviour.

Look man try to have proper respects for rom hackers in general.
If they don't want you to have any unofficial unreleased rom hacks.
Don't ask them for it, also even it gets leaked somehow or somway.
Have enough decentcy not to tamper with their work, most rom hackers have a reason.
If your still content on trying to hack it to fix it up, don't release it here or anywhere else.
Zied already told you not to and his reasoning should be a reason why you shouldn't.
If you want to hack it find the person and ask permission can you hack it and fix it.

LOL okay, just tell me how to contact Matrixz (creator of MegaMan Forever) or the creators of Rockman 6 Skype and Rockman 6 Innocent.

I mean, if I will ask them for permission and they will give me a reasonable no (like DHI did with Rockman UnPrecedented), I will accept it.

The only way you might get in contact with him is look here.
https://mobile.twitter.com/r0ck5easi1y
I have a feeling you may not reach him directly.
Did some digging around about this game, alot of people crave this for you to finish that properly..
Your taking way too much on your back by taking this up.
I suggest you have zieldak or maybe insectduel or someone help you off and on.

Thanks for the tip.

I mean, I will not take it up right now. Right now, I'm working on Togetic.

However, by the time I finish Togetic, I hope I will get enough expierience so MM6 hacking will not look so much like a nightmare like I fear it will probably look like (the very little amount of MM6 hacks possibly suggest a lack of proper MM6 documentation).

This is why that rom hacker didn't want it to be released or anyone touching it.
Knowing people like that game too much and have to you fuck it up ?
You would have many people ready to kill you and it wouldn't stop for a long time,

Its like if you tell heart doctor to work on a car endine and transmission...
He won't know how to do anything unless he has enough knowledge or insight to fix it correctly.
In the mean time, try to find that hackers contact info or where he might be posting at in japan and ask when your ready.

*poof*

I'd be okay with people trying to make modifications or improvements to MM Forever, as long as they (if they distribute it) make it clear that it's an offshoot version, and not from me.

The reason my hack won't work or open in MegaFLE X with a normal setup is a side-effect of the customizations I did to the hack, and the moving around of data I did within the ROM.

I was thinking of putting up the source files to my hack eventually, with all files needed to modify the hack properly, but I've not really had the time to finish cleaning up the files for distribution.

On-topic:

I haven't played many complete romhacks, but I remember Maverick Revenge II by MickeVincent being pretty good, and I liked The Battle of Gamma by DurfarC. These are older (and yes, Mega Man hacks also) but I always liked Megaman Ultra and a japanese hack named Rockman EXILE.

Ah, okay. That at least explains why I cannot open it on MegaFLE X.
And yeah I will definitely say that you made the original and that I added the missing parts.

P.S.: I'm really sad that your development on MegaFLE X stopped before a proper text editor could have been implemented, because even to this day, games like MM3 still don't have a proper text editor.

You can still grab a hex editor and edit text.
I worked on an MM1 gameboy hack before, and oh my god, I did mostly everything with a hex editor to edit scroll layout, uh, tiles and stuff.
Why? Because that was what I had to do, because the editor was totally incomplete. Maybe I should continue working on it again later. I have not even completed Crimson yet, and I don't have the time to do it either...

Hmm and here I was hopefully waiting for that or a better demo in december.
Keep us informed, your hack has me highly interested.
Also the best hack I played was yours even though its a demo and development...
I liked it over anything else I laid my hands on.

But what if I want to replace text with longer text?
Like, I want to replace Top Spin with Whirlpool.

Well, that is really complicated. You have limited space for names, maybe Kuja could tell you how to move the the text to a free space or something. I do know however, how to swap the weapon names for bosses and some minor stuff.
If you'd list the names here, I could make a patch that changes the weapon names for you, I think. Not necessarily with full names because of the limitations. Maybe replacing 'Rush Marine' and 'Rush Jet' with 'RJ' and 'RM' would free up some text space. I dunno.

I've been following the Sonic Hacking Contest 2015 this whole week (And I'm watching the results stream right now ), so no progress was made... [AND THE REST WAS DELETED]
