infidelity: You should make this an actual cartridge and give it to someone who has an NES. I'd like to see how it runs on the real deal.

Glitch report! I was playing SMB3, in my first file i had an incomplete N-Spade game, and when I got an N-Spade game on my second file, it started my game from the first file, I could tell because that was my first 80,000 points on my second file, and some of the cards were already flipped over. I just wanted to put this here, so it can hopefully get fixed at some point.

I'll be showing this off to Dailymotion on my channel. It could get good interest there, which is nice.

Can I post this onto my site too? Obviously with permission from infidelity.

Issue: I'm using FCEUX 2.2.2 and the correct ROM (GoodTools name: Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PRG1) [!].nes) and the IPS is called the same.

However all I am receiving is a blank screen. I know this isn't a bad dump which is wrongly named, either.

Is this an issue with FCEUX 2.2.2 and IPS or am I doing something stupid? Here's a dump from the 6502 debugger:

Amazing work ! you know if you really wanted to squeeze in more mario you could put mario bros, the original nes mario game, however i wonder if there are any hacks that clean that game up any,i also understand it's inside smb3 in 2 player mode but not quite the same.

also,i hate to ask this but in the intro, would it be possible make the sprites come out at random and have the background changing every so often, not just at the end,it makes your intro screen more appealing to leave on,i really love it but having it random and the screen background changing would cut down on screen burn.

Would i be able to hack this hack ! ,all i mean from this is that i own my own hacks of smb1 and smb3,all i have done to them is change the difficulty by removing some coins on levels, removed or moved 1ups,removed warps and replaced with only 1 warp for smb1,removed 2 wistles from smb3 leaving only the w-2 warp wistle intact, just generally making these games harder but keeping them the same, removing warps as they are too tempting and some let you skip too many levels,i plan to keep mario 2 the same but remove the 1st warp and remove some special coins, just fed up with the 30 or 50 lifes most players end up with including myself but i still enjoy very much playing the stock games,so i ask, would it be possible for me to go in and change these things just like the roms i have done before or would this not open up in an editor.

One last thing, will this work in a real nes with a normal smb3 repo

i want to say thankyou, your rom hack is the best thing i have ever seen, that and your zelda are truly something else !

I don't know, he hasn't been here for over a month and he hasn't been on RHDN since August 10th.

He'll probably return here more likely though some time, just keep waiting.

Okay, question:
Any chance of ever including an updated MMC5 version the NES Super Mario World, or do you not have enough ROM space for that anymore?

Also, is Super Mario Bros 3 (USA) (Rev A) the same thing like Super Mario Bros 3 (U) (PRG1)?

For the second part: yes.

No-Intro uses Rev A and GoodSets use PRG1 for the same ROM.

Infidelt you have created a monster and this is the result of that monster.
The video itself would make my head spin, anyone else with better eyes than I enjoy it. X_X

that's "not" infidel's romhack if that's what you were trying to say.

Those are just the original games. And the TAS was made in July 2014.

Back the fuck up for a minute, whose original project was this to make an super mario all stars hack ?

Last I checked infildelt made the announcement to do the project, I didn't hear you during that time claim rights to that.
Yes I know its a TAS, I thought I might show that to him and everyone else to see this guy having too good of a time playing that.

That video I found though will give me nightmares for a week, too much noise and action going on.

it worked okay in FCEUX 2.2.3 as well as the FCEUX SVN builds after v2.2.2. try obtaining a clean SMB3 US PRG1 rom from another source.

I found another bug - it's with saving the SMB3 game. When I load an SMB3 game that is already beaten (the STAR * indicator is there), and then I choose Save & Quit to save the game to go back to the game select screen and when I choose the SMB3 game, the STAR indicator is gone as if the game has not been beaten when it should be retained.

I've been wondering, is the Red Piranha plant fix ever gonna be made for this hack? I've waited for more than a year bit it still hasn't got fixed.

Are those all the issues?

I remember that the game sometimes freezes at the Famicom loading screen with SMB2J, and also the Red Piranha plants behave the exact same as the green counterparts, instead of being more aggressive.

Also with SMB3, I had a half-completed N-Spade game on the first file, but when I played on the second file it loaded the same half-conpleted N-spade game as from the first file.

And there's the guy who mentions losing the star on an SMB3 file just a few posts above.

Well I had some spare time to take a look at the issues, and I think I've resolved them.

SMB2J = Red Piranha plants now act differently than the green ones. They move faster, and they still pop out of pipes when Mario or Luigi stand beside them.

SMB3 = N-Card game from whichever file, no longer transfers to other files. When game is completed, the star icon always stays.

The only thing I cant really decipher is the SMB2J random freeze after the Famicom/Nintendo intro.

If people could do checks on Super Mario Bros. 2 USA, that would be great, I swear I had an issue regarding extra lives or something, I could be wrong. But before I release this new patch, I just want to make sure SMB2U is ok.

So right now i'm still waiting before releasing the new 2016 patch. But I've included very brief videos showing some my latest changes.

New Erase Function
https://youtu.be/DJjuWjBAFew

SMB2J Red Piranha Plant Normal
https://youtu.be/RsHPK0QCNeg

SMB2J BIOS Intro
https://youtu.be/WG7ilMXrw_I

The only things that I did not create videos of, are the touched up IRQ's within Mario 3, & the N-Card issue within Mario 3 where an unfinished File 1 card game transfers itself to Files 2-4.

EDIT

2016 patch released. Link will be here & on the first page of this thread.
