Hey, um... so I want to create a Mega Man 6 Level Editor, written entirely in QBasic or Visual Basic1 for DOS (I may do VBDS.) My question is this: Is there a way to find out the mega map 6 mapping format? Like tiles, screen scrolling, collision, when a stage starts, etc. Is there a dos NES emulator that tells me this stuff? I know its possible, MegaFLE wouldn't be here otherwise lol.

Thanks in advance.

Try Rock5easily's Rockman 6 Editor or Matrixz's MegaFLE X (not DOS version of MegaFLE)

DOS NES Emulator?, NESticle DOS version back in 1997 using Dosbox for Windows

Try to read this.

Although it said just for Mega Man 3-5, There's a little bit codes for Mega Man 6.

And there's version of MegaFLE X that can run in DOS mode, or this.

Thanks, but I want to create a level editor for a game (NES, SNES, GBA [for MegaMan Zero])

Which is easier?

I think whatever you'd have the most patience focusing on would be easiest (and naturally NES would probably be the easiest to map because you wouldn't have to deal with data compression, and the roms are generally smaller).

But seriously, if you don't plan on using your editor yourself, what're the chances you'll make it as good as it could be? So I think what would make the most sense, is to pick a game you want to work on.
