I am very VERY close to finishing up a ROM hack I've been working on for quite some time. Unfortunately I have absolutely no clue how to put music into the hack. So with that said PLEASE if anybody knows how to put music into the game please do so, I'll even let you pick the songs. I want this hack to be very special and I feel that music plays a big part in that process. Thanks in advance. Also here is a screenshot of the hack:

i could say the same thing about my game, Megaman Odyssey. It's only got like 3 songs, everything else originally in megaman 3 still exists sadly (all the songs)...

But i dont have music composing skills either.

anyway about megaman 2:

http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/2392/rock2m/index.htm

This page is dedicated to every single known detail there ever is, for the megaman 2 sound engine and how to do everything step by step almost literally... except it's in japanese. sorry

Yo 32x1000, you might also want to look at capmusfrm.txt, which you can find with a quick google search.

Now it's almost entirely about the capcom music engine used in MM3-6, but it has a portion which seems to compare some commands from MM2 with commands from MM3. I think there's actually a disassembly of the MM1 sound engine somewhere and I'm pretty sure MM1 and 2 have almost identical sound engines.

I messed around for a while with the document but I still can't comprehend it. The only thing I was able to do is speed up the music, slow it down, and glitch out the whole thing. It just doesn't add up with me

Why not ask infidelt to put the music in for you, if he agrees you hand him over 5-10 dollars through paypal when the service is done and verified ?

Yeah it would be cool, make it happen, if infildelt agrees to help put the music inside your hack find a way to compensate him.

Goodluck eitherway.

Sadly, I know nothing about doing music for MM2...One of the reasons my MM2 hack is on ice at the moment. However, being the nice guy that I am, and a huge Mega Man fan, if Infidel agrees to help you with putting music in this hack of yours, I'll slide him over a little $$ via paypal.

Really! and I'm all for giving back to the ROM hacking community... I've had many long boring nights at work over the years and there's nothing like a good ROM hack to keep me busy during down time.

Infidel did some music on my MM3 hack years ago, but nothing custom, he just inserted music from the other 5 Mega Man titles for me. So just maybe he might find the time to help out. Either way, I can try looking around on some other forums to see if anyone with the know how might want to step up and help out. You might want to post about your hack over at rockmanpm they have a section on their forums specifically for ROM hacks and fan-made projects. Might get someone interested.

really quick before I do that I need to ask you a question: I see almost every rockman hack simply takes graphics from other games to use in the hack. In my hack I have drawn almost all the graphics (except for grapics that don't need to be changed) but I'm wondering if they look any good or not because I don't want my hack to look like a 5 year old coloring book.

For the most part the custom tiles/GFX look pretty good. I can say I'm not a big fan of the palette you chose for the boss select screen.... a little too bland IMO. The fist few pics I'm going to assume are Heat Man's stage? The last two pics look really good. Is that Wood man?

I think the custom GFX look pretty good. In the end, it's your hack so if your pleased with it, that's what matters. Not sure I get some of the tiles in the Heat Man stage, the blue tiles near the bottom?? Did you change the lava GFX?
