I seem to be having an issue with gimp 2.8. It works fine whenever I'm root - i.e. sudo - but whenever I run it as... me, I get an "Unable to open a test swap file" error. I googled it, but all I've found was a headache. Help! ____________________ Sorry for the stupidity. That jerk will be dealt with in the most insane way possible. |

I found this:
"I had the same problem - took me a long time to sort it out. I have Lion. Select your hard drive. Then 'get info' - (I think from the file menu I'm not quite sure as I'm not on the mac now). You then get a box allowing you to change your permissions - down at the bottom. change the relevant user (your own ID) to 'read and write'. It worked. Good luck." ____________________ セシル |

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04, so I'm not sure if that'll work. Worth a try, though ____________________ Sorry for the stupidity. That jerk will be dealt with in the most insane way possible. |

Tried changing permissions. Didn't work. Should I just reinstall?
Looks like reinstalling didn't work ____________________ Sorry for the stupidity. That jerk will be dealt with in the most insane way possible. |

Never mind. Broke down and got the Windows version. It's a lot more stable... ____________________ Sorry for the stupidity. That jerk will be dealt with in the most insane way possible. |

Wait, wasn't this thread somewhere else? Why is this in Spatula?

Posted by NightKev It's also in the Computing forum. I figured putting it in Spatula was a bad idea AFTER the fact. ____________________ Sorry for the stupidity. That jerk will be dealt with in the most insane way possible. |
