Dear Friends...

Finally, My Mega Man 5 hack which that is fifth hack of Indonesian series meets the final form.

Thanks to Kain who suggest me to make the title better (Artifact, instead of Artefact), Matrixz's MegaFLEX, FCEUX, and Rock5Easily's Rockman 5 Editor, Parameter Editor and Sprite Viewer.
------
These are some screenshots :

Features :
1. New storyline.
2. You can use turbo button in this MM5 against the enemies.
3. After revisited stages, password screen will appear and the weapons will be full again.
4. New musics.
5. Some stuff addition.
6. Not stopped charging while take damage.
7. You can switch weapon menu by pressing select button.
7. etc...

Why version 0.86?

This is the first time I change the whole bosses' AI, maybe there're still buggy or need an addition or improvement.

Maybe I plan to submit this to RHDN this week.

Thanks!

Well I tried the hack, I'll say this its good but it gives me some mixed feelings.
The title screen and music, loved the title screen, the music could give some little kids nightmares.
Reminds me of maniac mansion from the nes but who am I to talk much.
Playable wise, I see right away, you have been playing mm9 and mm10 abit.
You implemented quite abit from it and some mm2/mm3 style type playing on certain levels.
Excellent work on graphic design, the boss introduction is eh. :/
The music in this game, it feels like you're taking people on a national geographic tour.
With that said for now, I have only yet to test it on my ds.
If I'm busy while coming back tomorrow I'll record some footage.

Nice hack, but like I said it gives off some weird feelings.

My rating is a 8.

No, No, I never play MM9 or 10, Dolphin emulator is so slow in my comp. I just watch some playthrough and TAS on MM10. But, the rest thanks ~

Thanks, but sorry, I don't really get it at the rest.

Really?! it would be awesome...
Or maybe that would be happened because the source of the song is from outside gaming section and I not good at remixing music...

Dude, thanks for rating this. Sorry if I can't give more effort in this project because I did this alone and I don't have much time for it like putting graphics, creating bosses' graphics and assembling it with hex editor, putting and remixing music, designing level, programming, etc... (in short, All of this projects components) and balancing my schedule with college and my job also my further target.

Okay, I don't want to blatantly tell this all to you that "oh, I'm tired on this blah blah blah" because I want to give person who play my hack the result, not my process while doing this hack. Moreover, I'm a bit perfectionist. So, it would be appreciated if you can give me any suggestion to this project for better result.

Sorry if I made any mistakes on this post. And...

Very thanks for your critics!

And I'm so glad ~

so far..
I really love this hack alot.

This is by far your best "wily in indonesia" hack of all the ones you've ever made.

I've not even completed the main 8 stages yet, i've only played 6 of the 8. I have yet to see what Frozen, and Brave look like yet.

But the other 6 stages are super good.
I only beat 3 levels currently, and i really appreciated what you've done on the ASM programming. I was very surprised and happy that you made some custom sound effects

.. like the elec beam traps from mm 1, the gyro weapon replacement sounds similiar to "black hole bomb" from megaman 9 galaxy man well, a part of the sound.

the 3 wep's ive seen so far are cool. that Space man (gyro replacemtn) is really fun to play around with, hard to control but much more useful than the orig mm5
and it took me like 5 minutes to figure out how to use the Sultman man weapon hehe. also was a little difficult to control, until i figured it out

I liked that really cool custom made enemey at some point in Marine man, a spinning green balloon... thing... i have no idea what the heck it is, but i was like "woooa what is that!!"
I wish you used the custom made sprites a bit more often instead of only 1 single time in the stage and never again.
It's OK.

music -- it's all pretty cool.
I was bopping my head to the Marine Man song for an hour literally.. not joking. It's my favorite song so far even though i've only played 6 levels currently.

there's also a tiny little effect on the "noise channel" of the tune woman song that i really like. I dont know how to describe what it is since it's only 1 second.

So far this an A class hack in my opinion cause im really liking this. Just being completely honest

This is the error I mentioned on Facebook. A quick fix shouldn't be a problem in Protoman 1.

Finally got a chance to sit down and play this tonight. Excellent hack... in fact, it's one of the better Mega Man hacks I've played in quite a long time! Loved the new sound FX and the music as well. So far I've only beaten 4 bosses and wanted to take time out to say thanks. I can tell you really put a lot of time into this. looking forward to your next hack. This one will be finding a permanent home on my Game Ex arcade cab!!

Congrats Anandastoon, this truly is a quality hack!

I got up to the 2nd Proto Man stage last night. I got lucky in my order of defeating most Robot Masters because I had the proper weapon a lot of times.
For instance, I started with Frozen Man to check out if I get the parallax bug NARFNra mentioned (nope, it works fine) and then I went for Puzzle Man, and I had the proper weapon already!

The freeze dash is also very useful to pass the laser beams sections (forgot which stage).

I would have suggested some more "engrish" corrections, such as:
"After Wily repairing an Indonesian artifact" -> "After Wily repaired an Indonesian artifact"

Some of the music choices sounds odd. Not that there's any scale mistakes or anything, just that the songs themselves doesn't have the proper MM drive, either sounding too happy or not dynamic enough.
But other songs are really great too!

Some of the level designs are awesome (there are a few similar ideas to what I planned in my hack as well).

I'm still jealous of your hacking skills!

Ah, that's Brave Man's stage I think.

* It seems Jnes can't handle Puzzle Man's AI. After his health bar is filled, he starts repeating his 'introduction phase', but teleports up the player after the first loop once. (v0.86 and v0.88 Checked.) You should note that to DO NOT use Jnes to play this game.

* Protoman 3 has a bug in the upscroll section. Jumping early can glitch you in those two tiles (diagional), and kill you when the scrolling has ended.

Thanks Zieldak.
1. Mmm,, maybe the Puzzle Man's problem looks like what NARFNra mention in ROMHacking section at Frozen Man's Parallax Scrolling. I have given a note in the description at RHDN.

2. Honestly, I've found this bug some months ago and I think that was just some random glitch which happen in some AI Hacking cases. But I was wrong, the upscrollingis an integrated version from Gyro Man's second lift. The limiter has been omitted in the buggy version but now I added it back.

Very thanks for these feedbacks, and Yup! I was re-submitting the new version at RHDN just now with some fixing of graphic errors too...

~and still waiting some bug reports too...

I've finally finished this hack.
First let me say:

HOOOO we're halfway theeere
HOOOOHOOOO
Livin on a prayer
take my hand, we'll make it I swear
HOOOOHOOOO
LIVIN ON A PRAYER

I lol'd at that 8bit arrangement.

Also, some of the Wily battles were really challenging, like, even if I figured out the patterns. I guess that's a good thing.

Overall, I'm impressed, and I like that it's not SUPERMEGA hard like a lot of hacks. Like, you don't have to use save states to beat it.
