So for the first dungeon, where you would get zelda. In order to put down the bars for the prison cells it needs to be in BG2, but BG2 must be set to on top. Now i tried this and 2 problems arise.
First problem is this http://i.imgur.com/9aWI9.png it will cover the whole screen in BG2's color but only for certain screens The second problem which is the most important is that if i set the BG2 to "On Top" it will go away when i switch screens, it doesnt even tell me there isnt room it just doesnt stay. If anyone can help me with these problems it would be great (p.s. this is zeniea, the one working on lyra islands. sorry its been so long but i took a long break and sort of forgot my password, but dont feel like bothering the admin to change it. Expect to see some updates on the hack soon.) ____________________ |

BG2 on top is a complex thing. Every room must be defined separately and it is not compatible with bg2 = normal. Sometimes it will cover the whole screen, sometimes it doesn't. If I put the room 112 with the on top effect it doesn't cover the whole screen.
The BG2 on top will disapear when switching screens, because the next room is not on top, so the game must do the switch. This is the passing problem. If two incompatible (on top and not on top) rooms are together, then the bars must be set away from the view point of the passage. Or... both rooms are set to on top, but one of them asctually doesn't have the bars anywhere. Nintendo used another strategy: only one room has bars and the only thing leading in and out of this room are the stairs, that allow pallete, blk and other changes. |

Hey freakyfurball 
To your first problem. It is a very simple way, at least I've made it so. Open your rom in hyrule magic. Go to the room where you need the Bg2 "On Top" and where it cover the complet room in the Bg2 color. Notice the room number. Now click on "Edit" in the top toolbar. Then click on "Dublicate Room". In Source room write 128 (This is the room where Zelda is) and in Destination room write your noticed roomnumber. Now save and close the complet rom. Open again and switch to your room. Voila What have we done? We have just taken over the complete settings of room 128. Now you have your room just to remodel.
To problem 2. You mean hyrule magic does not save your settings for Bg2? |

I've just found the cause of the filled room. If BG2 is on top, the specific floor2 must be used. For instance, go to room 128 and change the floor2 to value 1. You'll notice that the room is flooded. Change it back to 14 and it's back to normal. |

So dont know what did it but after some time it just stayed on top. Thanks for the advice ____________________ |
