Gotta love them. They always seem to make the original music better! I like projects even better, where they are collaborated and made into album form. Cave Story Remix Project and Project: Chaos are my favorites right now.
As for separate remixes, I really enjoy Water Warning (Can't Breath 2 This), but I cannot find it anywhere anymore. That song is pure godly though if you can find it, it's very nice. Anything catchy and heavy metal also tickles my fancy, Live at The Sandopolis from Project: Chaos is a favorite

Mmm, download the overclocked remix torrent is fun.

I enjoy quite a lot of what OCRemix has to offer, as well as a few other remixes I found randomly surfing the Internet. I never saw VGMix while it was up and I don't feel like searching through their forums to find good music either. |

I haven't really taken the time to listen to video game music remixes. I'm too busy expanded my collection of original video game music. I prefer the original over remixes.
As for what I'm listening to right now, I can't get enough of Megaman X1-3's soundtrack. I've been listening to the soundtrack while in the car for the past week. Some of my favorites include: MMX: Intro Stage Storm Eagle's Stage Spark Mandrill's Stage Launch Octopus' Stage Final Sigma Battle MMX2: Flame Stag's Stage Wheel Gator's Stage Magna Centipede's Stage (Probably my favorite song out of the 3 games.) Boss fight music X Hunter Stage 1 Zero (The music goes well with the battle against him.) MMX3: Maverick Hunter Base Blizzard Buffalo's Stage Blast Hornet's Stage Gravity Beetle's Stage Volt Catfish's Stage Doopler Stage 1 Meh, maybe I should go find some decent remixes of the songs I just posted. I might take a look at the links that Xeo posted when I do have time. |

There was one that I remember from way back. I forgot who the artist was but they made Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Hydrocity Act 2 Sweet 98' Remix. It was the most badass vgm I've ever heard! If you look around the audio portal in Newgrounds.com you'll find some cool remixes.
ParagonX9 and NemesisTheory make some really decent tracks. |
