Super Mario Bros? Damn, you beat me to it. I was going to do that after this Megaman patch. It's alright, glad to see it done though.

The error in the bankswitch code got me thinking. I'm wondering if the graphics glitches that occurred in my Ghost n' Goblins patch was a result of the bankswitch routine also. I might have to check that out soon.

Thanks for the new patches.

Heh sorry about that. :p

Super Mario Bros, I had no choice but to expand the rom, in order for me to set everything up.

I tried dr mario back in the summer. It was going good until it came time for the pills to land, when they did, the rom would freeze, I couldnt figure it out so I scrapped it.

You tripped the anti-piracy check. Go to 0xDBF (0xDCF in PRG1) and change AD 40 07 to A9 00 EA.

Out of curiosity is there a significant difference in the amount of work needed to make these same conversions to VRC6 instead of MMC3?

Also, as far as sound is concerned, I would need to modify each game's sound engine in order to take advantage of the extra sound channels in MMC3, right?

Ive never been interested in vrc6, i know it uses extra sound channels. MMC3 doesnt have additional sound channels, but MMC5 does.

I just like MMC3 cause its practicly the most used mapper for hardware, and my success rate with working with it is huge, no disrespect to other mappers.

Update, then rant.

v8.0 will be coming soon. It will feature the following, all of which were otiginaly MMC1.

Double Dragon
*Fester's Quest
Kid Icarus
*Knight Rider

With Knight Rider, it works, but i get irq issues with the conversion to MMC3. Im not an irq expert at all, so if anyone is experienced with racing/driving games using sprite0, could you please take a look, a see if theres a possible solution?

Now here comes my rant.

With Fester's Quest, im so pissed off.

I have spent a considerable amount of time, trying to get this to turn on using Nestopia/Nintendulatot/PowerPak.

This rom, i finally have it displaying perfectly using the MMC3_118 mapper, due to MMC1 using 1scr mirroring, and only 118 allows me to use it.

Anyway I have redone my work three times with this game, using all my same methods in conversion.

Nestopia keeps throwing me cpu jams, and stranfe opcode names, but it doesnt log the origin of where it happens. This is incredibly frustrating since Nestopia lacks a debugger.

Ive ran my hack through fceux with the break on bad opcode feature running, and the debugger never snaps.

I know this patch will work, cause the game works just like the original, and I have done MASSIVE rewrites and custom asm, to get this bastard to work/display properly.

So, im witholding v8.0 until I can get Fester's Quest working across the board.

If anybody knows of a Nestopia debugger out there, PLEASE, send me a copy. I have no clue where the issue is within my work, in regards of this not working on Nestopia/Nintendulator/PowerPak.

nesdev reminded me that mmc3's reset vector needs to start within $E000-$FFFF. Festers points within $C000.

Sooooo, Ill take a look some point tonight or tomorrow night. :-/

Any chance of an MMC3 conversion and expansion for the Donkey Kong Original Edition ROM?
