I save along the way too, and its not that. Ive done this via nestopia, which is a very picky emulator, and my stuff is saving/loading.

I don't know how I triggered it either, I only took notice when something didn't look right in the game. I'm reluctant to do another run through the game, even though I could probably get through without incident eventually.

Yup, I see what the final ganon thing is..... DAMNIT! Its because of my new hookshot asm for the counter if you get stuck. I can fix it, but wtf man......

You know what, the emulator 2.2.2, ive never myself updated to that. Ive been using the first emulator which allowed my hack to work on. And I just figured the newer one(s) would be fine.

I just went to the old woman, that glitch is happening to me.....

And SOB! That's also because of the hookshot asm counter.....

Ok that's fixed.

Knew you could find it. I'll surely give the fixed version a run through, I came so close this time that I'll surely be able to beat the game next time.

i cant update that, it will mess up the asm and visuals to the eye when you turn trapdogger to the baby ones. It has to stay the way it is. Also, messing with palette has screwed with Dodongo's palette, so im not messing with the sprites anymore, had no idea Digdogger & Dodongo were sharing the same palette sram register...

infidelity, could this be considered a bug?

At the beginning of the game, apparently the only way to exit the inventory is if the cursor is at the top-left part of the screen (I didn't get any items yet). At first I thought there was a bug with the 3 sub-boxes you put in, because I was toggling between them, and then no matter what I did, I couldn't get out of the inventory screen, until I found out that the cursor had to be at the top-left part of the screen in order to exit. I would make it so no matter what the cursor position is, pressing start will allow you to exit the inventory screen.

Well, my run was going absolutely swimmingly, that is, until I switched to the dark world in a room with falling rocks, while the screen was in the middle of shaking - the game froze. I'm uploading a video of it now and I'll PM it to you.

I also discovered another minor glitch - you can interrupt the text in the old man rooms in dungeons by using the Roc's feather, and leave early. It doesn't seem to have any negative side effects.

Are you keeping the original Level 1 dungeon door glitch in the game (you walk in for the first time, then walk back out. When you go back in, the top door is automatically unlocked)? Not that it's a big deal, but people can still take advantage of it if they want.

Also, these are two minor things. They are not bugs. Merely suggestions.

With the new graphics in the game, especially the new dungeon walls which I believe came from the Zelda GameBoy games, I feel like the dungeon borders and door mounts from the original game are out of place, so I took them out. Also, I updated the floor tiles.

As I mentioned before, the original game font seems out of place now that you updated the graphics for the game. I updated the font.

It's a really nice font. It's from Super Mario Bros. 3. All I did was highlight the font in the SMB3 ROM in YY-CHR, and shift them down by one. Then I did the color replacement, and insert them in.

Just little things to improve the aesthetic quality of the game.

The fonts do look good. But in regards to the dungeons, I like the boarders, and I even redid the door frames to go along with each of the 9 dungeons tilesets, they are suttle, but the changes are there, especially when you blow walls up. I just like the outter wall look, the brick looking areas, its just because it gives it more depth imo, where if it's just a plain color, it does look like a whole lot of gfx are being shown, that's the best I can explain it.

One glitch and one non-glitch that should probably be fixed for the next release.

1. My run through of 1.3 ended shortly after I got to the dark world. The game got caught in an endless frozen loop after using the ocarina for the first time - the only thing I can think of that could've caused it is that I had just grabbed a time-stopper item in the same screen, since I can't seem to recreate it any other way. I'll have a video uploaded soon.

2. There's a heart piece which can be obtained before you get to the dark world. It's in the forest area in the lower right-ish area of the map. I can send you a screenshot of which heart piece it is if you need it. I know you're not supposed to be able to get any heart pieces before you get the ocarina, since when you get to the dark world, your heart piece count drops back down to 0.


In response to the font chatter, I like the fonts the game currently uses, but I'd prefer a non-italic numeric font. Personally, I find italics don't fit very well when you're limited to a certain number of pixels per character - it just looks sloppy.

The numeric font currently used in the hack is virtually identical to the one in ALttP, but I've never been a big fan of pixelated italics. By contrast, Link's Awakening had some horrendous italic alpha text, but managed to keep the numerals straight.

I PM'd it to you The good news is, the game is feeling a lot more stable in general. I was surprised to encounter that glitch - when I played after I stopped recording, I was deliberately trying to encounter glitches and wasn't able to.

Ok, I got it so the ocarina works when you have obtained the time stopper. I have no idea how that item effects register $06, but it does somehow. That register plays a major role in how the ocarina (or the original recorder) works. So I forced a write in $06, before the major asm kicks in, so that when you obtain the time stopper, that the asm will continue on, and $06 will function properly.

I completely rehauled all of the fonts within the game to use the Super Mario Bros. 3 fonts. However, I still personally like my LTTP italic numbers, those will not be changed, I've always loved those in LTTP, and am happy to have them in my hack, again, those will not ever be changed.
