Without giving away too much here are some screenshots:

When finished this hack will feature a completely new overworld, dungeons and storyline. Gameplay will pretty much be the same as ALTTP (sorry nothing ground breaking like Parallel Worlds) mostly because I don't have the technical knowledge or ability to work with ASM. No GFX overhaul either, just a mix and match of things I like from Parallel Worlds and other hacks.

Looks like a pretty cool hack, I like the use of the dark world trees in the light world. Is it gonna include a dark world or just a light world? Id probably wanna play it either way but it looks like it has potential

For now the plan is to have 2 "light worlds" representing 2 different kingdoms or lands. Im not no fan of the current dark world color palette and GFX but I really don't want to completely redo them so having 2 light worlds seems like the best solution for now

That's actually an interesting idea, I would love to beta test it for you whenever it's in some working condition. It definetely looks pretty cool

This looks really promising. You can also graphically change the blank green grass. Dont know why Nintendo decided on blank here, when just a few dots added and the grass really looks better.
Regarding the two "light worlds". This is possible by copy pasting light world main gfx tiles into dark world ones (like you did with the tree) and a lot of palette changes.
By removing the annoing ability of mirror warping anywhere in the dark world, you can make the second world completely different without any bugs (like landing in the wall after warping). Good luck with the project.

That actually sounds like a pretty neat idea. I wonder how difficult it would be to make the engine support more "worlds" in such a fashion; it seems like with many sensible ways of implementing the dark/light worlds, it would be just a matter of changing some pointers and bound checks...

More screenshots. I don't know why that rock in the third picture is there. It's the only glitch of this sort I've come across

Well! I'm looking forward to all pics and videos you get out to us After Quest for Calatia finally died (it may as well have...) Zelda 3 hasn't had any real projects alive for it...

(I wonder if there's any Japanese hacks floating around, undiscovered....)

Not exactly true:
Seph is working on Parallel Universes, a spiritual sequel to Parallel Worlds since 2009,
http://parallelsequel.wordpress.com/

Spane is working on Prophet of Chaos since late 2010,
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=7118

I'm continuing on Gates of Darkness since mid 2010 (initial work from 2004-06), just dont have time to post.
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=6722

These three Z3 work in progress games have serious potential and have so much done, that they cant miss. For instance Gates of Darkness has (right now) practically all overworlds done, just some minor edits. However it needs a lot of work on indoors. Similar with Parallel Universes. Both games have over 3 years work in them. Prophet of Chaos is younger and has about 1 year work, but has a lot done for such a short time.

The new ones are this one and the continuating of Lyra Islands.

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=7245

Hopefully all of them will be finished someday.

Cemetery. I'm willing to work with some one if they know ASM and can get the forest mist to this area.

Funny you should mention that, I started on zelda 3 hacking on janurary 16th 2012.
Its on pause until march, when I get my motherboard back from msi I'll screenshot somethings in release it then.

For now it is called:
The Legend of Ganon: a link to the future
May adjust the title name a tad bit but thats what I plan on aiming for.
Also instead of link as the hero like always, he and zelda will be the main problem of this hack.

Just an idea. I've found out, that the game checks for the number of the area when loading a specific layer. Fog overlay is somehow fixed on area 00. If we could just change that into another value like area 30, the fog overlay would be automateically transported to the desert area.

@MikeFuryXP
That's nice to hear, since Alttp hacks are rare, however, there's been quite a lot of new Z3 projects lately. Three new ones emerged, which is good news.

This is what I have in mind for hyrule, yes I know the orange palette maybe a little bit bright, but I am dropping down the tone of it very soon.
Also I wanted to give the castles inside a old dark rusted feeling to it, that makes it say that this is ganons version of hyrule land.
Still couldnt find the other grass palette so I could fill in that, and readjust some stuff. :\
