Hai there

Before i begin with what im actually posting about i would just like to give a little background knowledge of what ive done
For about a year now ive been extremely interested in zelda hacks especially Zelda3 and such so for the past year ive been familiarizing myself with Hyrule Magic and im pretty familiar with the program as a whole plus ive made several Zelda3 hacks most have been abandoned due to lack of patience or to many corruptions. But for the most part im pretty good at using HM

Now to get to my point i found SePH's parallelsequel stuff and i got really interested, and after that i found Lyra Islands. If you dont know what im talking about here is the video --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8goEp50JPg

Now as much as i dont like hacking other hacks i decided to play with it a bit and i really like it a lot and i dont know how cool SePH would be about me picking up Lyra Islands but ive done some minor editing to it like i finished a dungeon started working on a beginning, story, etc etc. And as soon as i get some more new content in it ill post an ips or some screenshots. But mostly just kind of wanted some sort of audience on something im working on

So like i said ill post updates as soon as they are relevant

That vid does look pretty good. Too bad Seph abandoned it. Oh well, I don't know how Seph would feel about you picking this up and finishing it, but I would definitely be interested in playing it if you did.

And hey, I think Seph has an account on this board. Maybe if you start this and do pretty well, Seph will see it and give you his blessing.

That is good news. SePH released three abandoned or unfinished Z3 games. When I finished one of them (Shards of might or Goddess of Wisdom) he was ok with it. He was really in a good mood seeing his old project finished. And afterwards he also gave me a go with Gates of Darkness. It is really not hacking other hacks, but more like two people working on one. SePH is the best with overworlds leaving me the edits and all the dungeons. Z3 games really need more than one person.

Im sure SePH will be ok with you picking up Lyra Islands (but ask him anyway). By doing so, all 3 of old Z3 unfinished games will be complete.

Anyone can do what they want with these three hacks, I highly doubt I'll ever finish them myself or go back to them.... Sorry folks! One hack at a time is all I can do.

But on topic of the continuation/use of any of my released useless z3 projects to make new projects, I have absolutely no objections. Be it Lyra Islands, Gates of Darkness, Shards of Might... in an unplayed, unfinished form they are pretty much useless.. but if anyone came back to pick them up... then surely something can come up of it. By comparing those hacks with the original Zelda 3 game, they can truely understand how the game works out.

Sorry for the really long delay and what not i was grounded for a while so not a lot of progress was made -__-
But now I have a demo version and this has in it:
1. The beginning dungeon ( Get sword, Zelda, etc )
2. Slightly modified overworld ( Ill release how to get to certain parts of the game for people who wanna see the whole place )
3. The first dungeon finished

Obviously its still under works and i havent wrapped a story around it but this shows SOME progress

When patched to 1996 rom, the patched file is identical to the original rom. The 2002, 2004 E, 2004 U give a nonreadable file.

Did you try with and without header puzzledude? (I would not know for this particular patch, but that one tends to be an usual problem.)

Yes, but strangely I always get an original game. I would really like to see some changes on Lyra Islands since I know the demo well.

This patch works with the E rom. I really dont know what happened with the 1996 one and i tested this one and it actually works
Also please note there are a lot of bugs i haven't completely worked out yet so i would suggest making one neutral save state, and then another one so you can get around

Works now. I can see the updates you've made. Of course the game still needs a lot of edits. Keep up the good work. PS The entrance 04 needs an exit dot as well.

This is a gfx issue. Seph managed to change the gfx of the indoors. All you need to do is to change this back to original. Go here for some gfx editing hints.
