Welcome to the forum!

This is the perfect place for you as a new user to post a reply to introduces yourself as well as mingle a bit and get to know the rest of the community before going out and posting in other places!

Of course, you don't have to post here, or even post here the first you do. But if you want to make an introduction, this is the place to do it!

Have a good time posting! (That goes for the rest of you too!)

I'm going to introduce myself because I don't I ever have, for, like, the seven years or so I've been around. So my name is Celice. And I've been able to keep that name on, like, every internet-based thing ever made XD And when not, I just use CelicetheGreat. I have the cleanest username history in the world

I like to romhack for fun now and then and I love Fire Emblem. And the original Nintendo. And Chinese food. And potatoes. All this translates into a hello

Rewelcome to the forums, Celice. By the way, what happened to the old introductions thread?

It was getting rather long, so we decided to truncate it and start anew.

A fresh welcome from me too, Celice.

Hello to you as well, and welcome back to the board! As a fellow fan of Fire Emblem and ROM hacking, I figured I would pass along this link to a thread you've very likely seen before regarding Fire Emblem hacking. Sadly, I've never seen much done with Fire Emblem as far as hacking goes, but that's most likely due to the lack of an efficient all-in-one editor.

If you're interested in having a go at it, or at least toying around with the existing editors, you can find the resources collected here.

Anyway, feel free to hang around and enjoy yourself, and don't hesitate to stop by IRC.

Ah, I already know about all that stuff :p It's a shame everyone's afraid of looking into all the Japanese knowledge available about the games... and that no one's bothering to make a comprehensive editor. For some reason, it became popular for the users to patch together about five different programs--a generic data editor (nightmare! from back in the day of acmlm), generic map editors, and automated inserters... Very "patchy" feeling :x

IRC--I haven't heard that in years :p

2ch-based communities are usually a bit of a pain to collate data from... if you have it all in one place somewhere, I'm sure there would be some people (me included) who could have a go at producing translations of the relevant parts.

Personally, I prefer it. Nightmare (The newer, Javabased Nightmare2 anyway) is Manna from heaven when it comes to whipping up a very easy, very functional editor for a multitude of data types.

And IRC is all the rage nowadays

Well since I just appeared last year all of a sudden I might as well write something here.

I'm probably much younger than an average board user (I'm not from today's graphicswhore FPS lover generation entirely) and even before I registered here I was very different from people at my age... I don't like MMORPGs and I don't plan on marrying Modern Warfare 3, I don't listen to pop music and I won't change for anyone's sake...

I signed up on Youtube in early 2007 but haven't really made anything worth seeing really (nowadays I post my 8-bit chip music there).

Being a person who loves to customize games (I always created original content if there were editors built in a game) I loved to get into hacking. I made 3 shitty SMB hacks, and 3 shitty Mega Man 3 hacks before I realized that there's much more to it than just editors. Pretty much the only direction I can go on is towards 6502 assembly (I just don't feel that a massive wall of text written by someone will teach me the way I want) I'm only really interested in NES hacking as my childhood had a gaming hole in it. I owned an NES and PS1 but no 16-bit consoles (although I might get myself a Genesis eventually)

And in 2011 November...I became a brony. That's my story.

Ah, well. Why not.
Hiya, my name's SignZ, I'm 24, from Germany. Some of you may know me from other forums (or hell, even 1 or 2 IRC chans).
But for those who don't know me ->
... ok, I got no idea what I should write... Maybe..
- all-time-favorite game: Terranigma (SNES)
- favorite genre: RPG
- favorite music: rock, metal, techno, hardstyle, jumpstyle, reggae, alternate, dancehall, dance, trance, (some) pop, vgm... Ah, hell. I listen to most music, doesn't matter what genre it is, as long as I like it.

Wanna know more? Just ask.

Hi.
The probability of people remembering you is pretty... Slim, since I (And probably others) rarely ever see you anywhere in here.
But Hi anyway.

I have decided to register because I never did after all the years of checking this place out but never registering. Mostly due to being shy but the years have changed me so here I am. I'm a fairly active sort of person so perhaps I can make certain forums a bit more active.

Interests include, writing, programming, drawing, improvising stories, RP, and a bunch of other stuff.

I've been writing some misc things here and there but if you are interested then view my profile for some links to my site and DA. I tend to improvise often so I enjoy doing so in both writing and programming.

The first programming language I learned was c++ back years ago when I was in high school. It was fun learning and I always had an interest for computers because I get it from my dad's side of the family. (I got writing/creative stuff on my mom's side.) The next was PHP and I pretty much self taught myself everything. I only looked up stuff when needed but most of my learning done through lots of trail and error. Don't understand something? Take some code and pull it apart as far as you can. See what each and every little change can do. I often like taking things apart to learn how it works. I learn quickly when I set my mind to the task.

As of the late, I work on DB (Dimension Board) which resembles SMWC in some structures and has quite a lot of features and lots of front end support. I always believed in a strong admin panel. Of course, back the in the past the code was a mess and quite laughable (some parts still are but it is still something I just do for fun and learning experiences). Being the pack rat I am, have like every backup/version ever. It shows of my learning curves and interestingly enough, my optimization skills. I always seem to learn something each day and crave to do so. The story behind Dimension Board has been told so many times I lost track but more or less I did it because I could and because I enjoyed taking HTML and breathing it into life. It was for joke purposes never meant to be a real project, but it turned out that way.

In addition, I've recently have been working on some site related tutorials and have been answering a few questions over at stackoverflow. I thought it would be a fun way to help others out. Which brings me to another favorite thing to do with programming. I believe in using one's knowledge for the good of teaching. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to really work on anything with anyone but would like to. Lastly, I have some other minor languages learned but PHP is probably my strongest suit. Made things from games and boards to other little tiny things which are just random things to pass time.

As for drawing, I've been doing a lot more recently. I am a bit rusty since I haven't attempted in like ten years. Yeah, better late than never? I have also attempted to compose a bit too. I seem to do too much at ones sometimes. So I usually just watch random videos and hang out with friends when I can't decide. I also do some LPs too.

I guess I could also mention a few ROM hacking related things too. My main experience, rusty as it is, is SMW. Although I have had thoughts of Pokemon Emerald since I recently got into that game again a few months ago. Funny story behind that.

I have registered at SMWC first back in 2008 but I have been lurking these forums (and some incarnations) for far longer but just never registered. So yeah, I hope you all enjoy my stay as I will try to do the same. Here's to some more posts, cheers!
