By the title of the hack, it should be obvious that Dr. Wily is in this hack. That may be true, but it doesn't mean he's the final Boss. After all, Bowser will play an important role in all this, too! Now.... Story and area names have no been finalized yet, and, due to my extreme laziness and boredom with hacking (or making things in general), I've only completed ONE level so far (Sue me. ). But fret not! A demo shall arrive one day!
Screenshots (Outdated): Mario has kidnapped a Buzzy Beetle! Oh no! (Silver Pipeline 1) What the...? Cannon Pipes? (See above) (WAY outdated! Pipe colors have been changed, and that brick block isn't there anymore) Pipe Panic, anyone? (Silver Pipeline 1 part 2) Proof of my laziness. I died, then took the opportunity to make a screenshot here. If only I knew of the Rewind button at this time... XD Overworld of Silver Pipeline. Most of this has been changed, and two pieces of land have now been added- One for Silver Pipeline 2, and one for the Castle, whose name will be a secret for now. Rainbow Road 1. Yes, the Rainbow tiles are 100% custom, and to tell you the truth, the tiles for the Rainbow Road levels are FINISHED. Each tile actually blends into the other, and the palette cycles, too, to give the look of a moving Rainbow. And yes, slanted tiles are here, too. You'd be surprised at what I have now. Just a little test of the Doomship tiles. THIS is what inspired me to place Wily in this game. I was playing some Megaman games, when I got the idea of ripping those Wily signs out of the game. So I did. Then, Megaman 5 on the Gameboy inspired me to make a "Wily Ship" level. The MIDI from VGMusic "helped" a bit, so for the test, I called the level "OMG WILY SHIP". Eh. No one said this level is staying.... Ah, here we have Part 3 of Silver Pipeline 1. Yes, that Elevator works like it does in SMB3, but... One time, it made the nearby Message Block vanish. Don't know how to fix it, and I need that block. Oh yeah, one of the pipes holds a "secret", which is.... ...this. How do you get that key? ...It is a mystery. By the way, coming here resets the Blocks in the previous room, so... Heh, infinite Mushrooms and Fire Flowers if you do it right. But not a problem, since you might get hit a lot. Laggy problems. =/ Yes, I know of the Fast ROM Patch, but.... Using it means I have to give up the SMB/SMB3 music. Oh well. Ehehehe.... I won't respond to questions asking how to get here. And this is the ever-mysterious Peppermint Secret. Peppermint Fields hides this place, which is more of a Bonus Area than an actual level. And just so you know... I didn't waste time here. The Timer starts at 100, so you'd better rush to get everything. And there's a pipe at the other end that resets everything, including the Timer, so... By the way, at Mario's location is a Fire Flower. Those blocks in front of him are Peppermint Blocks. Throwing fireballs at them destroys them, letting you pass. What's this? THIS, my good friend, is the well-hidden Peppermint Castle. It's been hidden in the Fields for so long, and no one knows where it is anymore! But rumor has it that it holds a ton of rare items inside, it can only be entered from inside another area, and that if you leave, you must find it again inside the area you originally found it in to get back in! But rumor also has it there's a way to be able to permanently get in.... if you're fast enough. Well, that's it for now. More later. And I REALLY want to show off all my cool ideas. But no demo until the 1st world is done.... |

This hack seems interesting. If Dr. Wily is the boss of the game it would make things very interesting. The screen shots make t seem like there are lots of secrets (which I like). I can't wait for a demo. |

Looks nice so far, PikaGuy. If I might suggest, put in some Megaman enemies and GFX if Dr. Wily is in the hack |

Posted by Imajin As you wish. I shall go get pics soon. But.... I might not post them until tomorrow. Higsby, thanks. But.... Who said Wily was the End Boss? It could be Bowser, or it could be some new foe altogether. Expect this to be a bit weird, especially since... You don't even know how Wily even got to the Mushroom Kingdom. I'm thinking of making the beginning of the game state that Wily's been in the Mushroom Kingdom for a while, but being thought of as a nice person at first. I dunno. I'm not good with stories. Oh, while I'm at it, I should mention how many planned worlds I have right now: World 1- Silver Pipeline World 2- Peppermint Fields World (3?)- Pendulum Desert World ???- Rainbow Road That's all I'm gonna say on the worlds. The "3?" is because I don't know if that's going to be World 3 or World 4. Rainbow Road is important, too. You'll find out soon enough why, though. Thanks for the comments, guys. I appreciate feedback. Oh, and one other thing- I love MikeyK's SMB3 pipes too much. I'm using them a lot. And Pendulum Desert will use the SMB3-SMAS Desert GFX. I might submit them to SMW Central one of these days, since no one's bothered to submit them yet, even though a few people have already ripped those graphics. |

Posted by pikaguy900Posted by Imajin I just figured he was because his name was in the title
That would be great if you submitted those graphics. I don't know why most others don't send theirs in (especially SMAS rips). Although hopefully it won't matter soon because I'm using Pac's GFX ripping tutorial to figure out how to get the ExGFX myself. |

Posted by Luigi-San Oops, didn't see your reply. XD Rest assured, there WILL be Megaman enemies in here. Mainly the Megaman bosses. I'll let you in on a secret, guys- Most of the bosses you'll face are Megaman Robot Masters. After all, it IS Dr. Wily. Plus, each level the bosses are in are named for the bosses (I try). The last level in World 1 is called Gravity Castle. Can you figure out who the boss is? That level will use BMF's Gravity Altering blocks once he fixes them (if he does). What, you think I'd have a level called Gravity Castle just for the boss? Now, since it's late, I won't make new screens until tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback. |

The Pipeline levels, while somewhat repetitive graphically, look like they have a Megaman feel to the design.
Looking forward to a finished version! |

Posted by The Kins I would've used the YI Sewer GFX but..... No one's ripped that yet, and I'm trying to. As for being repetitive, that's what I get for having the World's theme being Pipe. The world isn't limited to Pipe, however. There are also 2 Water levels. Though, I guess I could add more normal land to the Silver Pipeline overworld so I can be a bit more diverse with the levels.... As for Megaman feel to the design.... You made me want to rip some graphics out of Megaman games. And I mean the NES ones. There's more there than on the SNES. Keep the feedback coming. I've been told before that my levels look repetitive, though. |

Why thank you, Imajin. You're probably right, but then, I've already started ripping the GFX, and I have the pipes already, too....
Now, NEW SCREENS!!! Here we have the NEW overworld for Silver Pipeline 1. And my mistake, there's THREE water levels here, one of which is on another submap. That submap is.... Right here. Yes, I was lazy and just moved Mario there, but.... I haven't finished all the levels yet. This was originally going to be an ice/snow area, but I thought, "Hmm.... Ice/Snow areas next to a place that's not cold would look weird..." (That is, what Silver Pipeline is). So now, it's a normal area, but it LOOKS frozen off, but.... Not that slippery. This little island holds a secret, but that should be obvious by that little spear shape. Above that, on the big hill, is Peppermint Fields. I should pick some better colors for that.... -WARNING! BAD COLORS ABOVE!! Yes, bad colors. Welcome to Pendulum Desert, home of The Annoyances. I won't tell what they are, though. Oh, and I say "bad colors" because I don't exactly like how it looks, but it's the closest I could get to making it look desert-y. Silver Pipeline 2 part 1. This is where it gets obvious that I love the SMB3 pipes. Nothing special here, just showing that I'm working on it. THIS is Pendulum Desert 1. Yays. See, I ripped the GFX FULLY. I even ripped the background myself, despite it being in the first SDW already. I also pieced it together myself and stuff. And yes, Mario is standing on the tree. I thought that made it look more realistic. This, so far, is simply a test level for the GFX. And here's an important question: If I release the GFX, should I release it with both a palette for SMB3 GFX hacks (Those that mainly use palettes from SMB3), AND one for hacks using the original palettes? I want to reach out to the GFX people will use most. P-Switch (I refuse to call it a POW Switch)? No, those blocks do NOT turn into Coins when hit. I want the realistic bounce, and if I use the BlockTool blocks, the block itself still shows, so it looks wrong.... Oh well. I told you I ripped it all. This is how I plan to end most of the levels. Yes, even the underwater ones. That's all the screens for now. Once I finish more levels, I'll show a demo. But MAN, I had a good time ripping the SMB3 Desert GFX. I love it lots. |

Green Key is because it replaces the ? Goal Sphere, which is green. And it sparkles, too. You could say the Key "unlocks" the next level.
However, if anyone knew how to change the palette it uses, I'd change it in a jiffy. I'm also open to ideas on other things I could use for the End-of-Level item. |

Wow, this is pretty good! The inclusion of Dr. Wily is a little bit of a gamble, but it works out well. Maybe have a few levels in the Megaman world...?
About the desert's palette...the current one is just horrible. Maybe make it a bit...less yellow, you know? Make it more brown. Other than that, well, good job so far. |

I like the new screens but I would have to agree about the Pendulum Desert palate. Try to make it the same colour as the ground in Pendulum Desert 1 and see how that looks. |

Posted by Lunar MM Do you mean the Overworld desert of the level graphics when you say "Desert palette"? If it's the former, I told you that I don't like it, either, but it's as close as I could get to making it look like a real desert. If it's the latter, then forget it. I'm trying to use the same colors that SMAS used in the SMB3 part of it. I put Dr. Wily in because, as I said, I was in a Megaman rush at the moment, and Megaman 5 GB didn't help things, either.... It just.... Came to me. I also figured, if I'm going to have the Wily insignia signs, I should have Wily play a part in the hack, too. But, uh..... I'm just plain confused now. I want to have a snow world, but Peppermint Fields plays that part too well. ...Eh, I'll figure it out. Keep the feedback coming. Oh yeah, another thing... When would you like me to make a demo? Before the first castle? After the first castle? |

Not really diggin' the overworld perspective. The pipes are at entirely different perspectives and it just doesnt look so great. The ice-blue one also seems a little bland, but hey. Its good effort at least. The levels don't seem half bad, but it looks like you used the GBA pallet for some of those rips...did you? I would probably recomend not doing that, as they made the pallets lighter and washed out to "show up" on a GBA screen (entirely unnecessary, as one of the brightness settings in the Link to the Past remake used the original pallet, completly visable, but I digress), and it doesn't look as good in an SNES environment. Just my two cents though. Keep up the good work! |

Posted by Keitaro I used Pac's SMB3 GFX patch. I only ripped the Desert palette, if I remember correctly. And how are the pipes at entirely different directions? I couldn't use the SMB3 overworld pipes where the SMW ones are, or it wouldn't look right... The ice-blue.... I was originally planning on using that as an ice/snow world, but.... I can't think of another palette that could convey the feeling of "Peppermint" better.... |

Oh, well I didn't exactly have a problem with the pallet of that particular overworld, I just thought it looked a little empty but you know, its not horrible.
As for the pipes, well like I said they are all different perfectives. The vertical and horizontal pipes are being viewed in an explicitly 2D perspective, that is from one solid side. The pipes which represent levels you can enter are an an angle of sorts, you can see both the top and part of the front side, for example. The differences n perspectives tend to clash a bit here. Its nothing HORRIBLE, trust me, but it just stood out to me. |
