Anyway, is the program itself displaying in a different language, or just the readme?
If it's the program, just change the language file extension to .ENU (presumably from .JPN) and that will change the program's display language.

If it's just the document that's in Japanese, you should be able to learn YY-CHR without a readme. Considering how important curiosity and autodidact tendencies are to ROM hacking, if you aren't capable of figuring it out, you may not be ready for ROM hacking yet.

It's likely ShiftJIS-encoded Japanese, and you butchered the data by pasting it as UTF-8 here. If you upload the text file somewhere and tell me what exactly it is you need to know from that file, I can translate it for you.

Well, if you have the file open and actually displaying the Japanese characters properly, you can try Google translate to get a rudimentary translation of it.

Google Translate sucks with languages, last time I translated Chinese to English it made not a single word of sense. I tihnk I'm just gonna leave it alone for now, I mean, zcompress doesn't even load the shit into my ROM, and I got my sword done.

If there's a file in the folder that ends in ".ENG", change it to ".ENU"; that should translate the program, at least.
